He does not seem to have a feel for driving in wet conditions. Having watched his aggressive driving style in other videos he seems a little too harsh with the controls to extract the best from the car in the wet.
ever thought of the ideal line in dry conditions is totally different to the racing line in wet. When rubber gets wet, it gets slippery. He is driving more to the outside to get better traction out of the corners. When steering to the apex, you slide to the outside when you exit the corner resulting in a slow acceleration and a lower top speed on the next straight..
he's supposed to miss the apex's! At donington you have to stay off the normal dry line when it's wet so that you don't run over the rubber + the track is more abrasive off line. if you watch the laps in the dry (around 2:15 ) he hits every apex.
i spent half the vid tryin to figure out if it was a paddle shift or not lol. I see that it is and i blame the rest of the American public for not showing interest in racing and my lack of knowledge on this series!
Heading down thru Craner & the old hairpin is terrifying in the dry, never mind the wet and he clearly got distracted by something on the exit of Mcleans. Given that we can't see what's in his mirrors we'll never know tho.
Dude... Nothing wrong here, his finger slid and he didnt shift up, that's all... I still think it's great action... Chill out ! He's not wheelspinning here, straight line 2nd gear...
Look how you have never driven a race car, you dont just forget to shift up and you dont shift up when you are wheelspinning to fuck which is what this guy is doing! Good video, people who comment are idiots tho
its not wheelspin its the rev limiter... he shifts late because he has something in his eye/s which distracts him, thats why he turns in and misses the apex to the next corner, letting the 2 cars through.
and why do you think he's hitting the rev limiter? cos its wheelspinning. he doesn't shift late cos he has something in his eyes, no racing driver would shift late cos they were distracted, he shifts late cos his trying to control the wheelspinning. any twat could tell you that.
I totally agree he pushed what he can and for that he deserves a lot cause the race conditions was very very bad and he didn't know the track what complicates a lot the task.

You do shift up when your wheel spinning, the sudden lower rev's create a lot of friction, does require a snap at the breaks aswell

when he forgot to downshift the car is not sliding at all like the wheel, in fact he just get back from wheelspinning, so he just forgot
