i think that we're closer to re growing body parts than perfecting the algorythyms that would ultimatly work with the human brain to control movement of a foreign object attached to the body. it just would'nt look like it does in the movies either. not to mention the margin for malfunction being greater. don't think about weather or not we can, we should think about weather or not we SHOULD. biomechanics cant be all that safe at this point. however, that's just my opinion.........

Wow grad mal 24 Jahre hats gedauert den Scheiss zu entwickeln? Haha die sollten sich besser mal ein anderes Konzept als das eines Humanoiden suchen. Wieso müssen die überhaupt wie Menschen sein? Und warum sollen sie Pflegetätigkeiten übernehmen, das kann wohl noch immer ein anderer Mensch am besten. Wenn Roboter schon Arbeitsplätze stehlen, dann doch eher so Arbeiten wie im Bergbau, Reinigungsarbeiten und andere gefährliche oder gesundheitschädliche Arbeiten.

tja, wir sehen die soldaten der zukunft...die sind völlig gefühlsleer und daher sind sie auch bestens einsetzbar in bürgerkriegen und aufständen der sozial benachteiligten...

Just watch when computers will be thought controlled. Now that computers can detect centre of gravity we'll be able to fit these 'legs' onto paraplegics. These 'wheelchairs' will be controlled through thought processing. It still is a rather crude form of technology. We idealy want to regrow these limbs that are in perfect health, and probably enhanced in strength. This will be due to stemcell research. Bring on the progress!

When quantum computers hit the market we'll be able to have these running and working robots. Trouble is size. We need smaller computers that can calculate much faster, and also with the help of a smaller battery.

All this will be available after nano tech comes out. Bring on the progress!!!
