Don't know how well Keanu will do acting wise, but one thing I don't think people think about is that keanu's voice sounds a lot more like the original voice for Spike (Japanese version) than Steve Blum, and I'm glad, I far prefer the laid back/cool sounding spike from the Japanese version than Steve Blum's version.

So when thinking about how Keanu interperates the role try and think of what the original Japanese VA interpretation of Spike was like, because thats what Keanu's interperating.

keanu confirmed it, while i'm looking forward to more news on the live action movie, dear god keanu is maybe the worst choice if you ask me, and he will never, NEVER be able to pull off spike, too complex of a character. reminds me of family guy when brian is a server and meets him and a woodpecker lands on his head and keanu says 'yah he comes and goes'. total waste of casting, hope he doesn't ruin the whole f-ing movie in the process. wondering who faye will be too..

Man I love this song. You don't hear too much soul in Japan music (at least I haven't other than this), I'm used to the upbeat rock, techno or j-pop used for anime openings and endings.

This was by far on of the best anime, no wait "best any thing on screen period! " I've ever seen. The charters were so freaking well developed it was almost scary, they all had lives of there own and some times dark passes. The creator really made you care what happened to them, hell even the dog had a back story, now you know you gotta good show on your hands when you care what happens to the dog ^_^

You know in an interview they had with Shinichirō Watanabe he states "I've never officially said that he died. At this point, I can tell you that I'm not sure if he's alive or dead."

So it still leaves hope that he some how lived but it would probably make the anime more dramatic and just that much better if he did die even if you don't want it.

As much as I adore this anime and would love to see more of it, any attempt to ressurrect Spike who, by all indications and by all the devices of good story-telling, is indeed dead would be a travesty to a spectacular piece of narrative. If Watanabe doesn't know this, he really should. It's just better this way. Ask any author.

Actually.. it never SAYS or shows spike die.. he merely says "bang" and falls down. However.. yeah.. the amount of blood he lost in the battle.. would most likely kill him. Though as much as I love spike, I have to agree. Any attempt bring him back to life..would completely destroy this animated masterpiece. It had to end this way. Nothing else would fit. There's an old saying. In any good story..the hero must die. This has held true through-out time.
