  • I cant get enough of the bridge

  • @Traveldoctor00 From the intro which sounded like a Harp, played throughout the song... the distinct sound of every instrument that was used, blending with the harmonies of their voices,-- created magic for me! I grew up listening to beautiful music fr. Mario Lanza, to the Beatles up to the present -- but my all time fave song remains Girl Blue by the Main Ing. Stevie W. co-wrote it and sang it too. I love Stevie but can't compare...To this day, no one has ever recorded this song again.

  • @Traveldoctor00

Thank you so much! When I said, my favorite Summer Breeze version of all -- I meant, every version that's been out there since the 70's. I like Seals & Croft version too, Isley's is okayl -- they're all good! But somehow, this version for me is just soo C o o o l ... It's sooo s m o o t h and soothing to the senses. I can listen to it over and over! And each time I do, even after so many years, it's like hearing it for the first time. The whole ensemble... (continued..)

  • Its songs like this that make me enjoy life a bit more

  • Wow so much amazing music to discover

  • Its songs like this...that make me feel like I was born at the wrong time...lol.

  • Cuba Gooding Sir OWNS this song. hands down..no if ands or buts about it

  • This guy didn"t even need a Mike. I saw him a million times in person Most people you see and the're worse than the reccord, some you see they are kind of close , but some are better, because the voice is right and your seeing it. This guy was one of those. He didn't even need a mike!!!!!!!!!

The the original by Seals and Croft I swear you will change your mind

  • @Traveldoctor00

Yes Seals and Crofts original is great, and I also love the version by The Ray Conniff Singers! This renditon, heard here, is a great find! I'll bet Seals and Croft feel honored that so many people want to cover their song!

  • @BigLilChef than u did not listen to the phantasically isley brothers, which composed this song originally!!!! unbeatable

  • This song has quite many versions. I personally like this one and the one by Ramsey Lewis better than the original.

  • ESSENTIAL SONG OF THE 70'S whether it's Main Ingredient or Isleys or Seals and Crofts..............

  • Great version with Cuba Gooding Sr. on lead vocals.

  • I love this interpretation best. Seals and Crofts did it originally, this is my favorite !

  • Why can't we like something without putting someone's elses version down. I like this version just as much as the Isley's version. Each group has their own interpertation.

  • Nice. I like.

  • OBVIOUSLY there are too many youngsters on this thread. This song is a COVER song, something that was pretty normal back in the day. It's not about one version being better than another. It's about taking an IDEA and building on it, INTERPRETATION, something that is LOST on the current generation of R&B wannabes, most of whom have NO musical personality at all. Great songs lend themselves to multiple interpretations, and this song is a primary example. So quit fighting about which is better.

  • @Odawg96 You said it sooo beautifully!!! I get so sick of these people polluting the boards saying oh I like the other version better...blah blah blah..just be quiet and appreciate the music!!!!

  • @Odawg96 true words Sir ! Isleys rules as well...sunny smiles....

  • @Odawg96 well I am from old school and old school artists had a way of taking an original song and make it their own..remember what Luther Vandross did for the Carpenters Superstar or Dionne Warwick A house is not home..Folks Ony remember His covers.

  • @Odawg96

    wow!!!

    truth my friend,truth!!

  • @Odawg96 Yea, your right. I was b71, & even though this is kinda a little b4 my time, I sill like this style of music. I don't really listen to much newer "music". Basically Classical, Jazz, & oldies (50-s -early 80's) Anyway, in the 60's & 70's it wasn't uncommon for multiple bands, of different genres, to be performing & recording the same songs simultaneously. 1 example, CCR & Ike & Tina Turner - "Proud Mary". You don't see that today. You don't have different bands doing "Poker Face".

  • @gjc82071 Believe me, I'm with ya all the way. How about The Doors and Jose Feliciano's version of "Light My Fire"? or Glenn Campbells re-tooling of Allen Toussaint's "Southern Nights"? or Vanilla Fudge's version of the Supremes' "You Keep Me Hanging On"?or Isaac Hayes and ANYTHING written by Hal David and Burt Bacharach? Yep, those were great musical times. Between a crappy music industry and crappy artists, musical imagination appears to be a thing of the past.

  • @gjc82071 lol at poker face. now that made me almost fall out my chair laughing. yea these youngsters think soulja boy is the best artist of all time really? I wouldn't usae his cd for a coaster for my beer!!!!

  • @mormana Honestly, I've never even heard of soulja boy. Your right about not using a CD as a beer coaster, but for another less obvious reason. I wouldn't even want it in such close proximity to my beverages. It could taint the flavor & after all, I gotta actually drink'em ya know? Actually, shitty CD's do have a purpose, & in a sense can be "recycled"! They kinda make a decent, neat, shiny, "Frisbee" (having roughly the same aerodynamic properties & all). So, not a total waste. {:o)

  • @gjc82071 trust me you aint missing nothing. I like the frisbee idea. I wouldnt waste the money on it tho. I will stick with the original frisbee!!! LMAO

  • @Odawg96 Definitely agree with you. Far too many youngsters these days that don't understand what real music is like. Real music is so good that many different artists can put their own spin on it, and it's not "copying". Of course, what can you expect? This generation is listening to Justin Bieber and Keisha, they can't possibly understand.

  • @Odawg96 but when rappers do it they call it stealing lol

  • @Odawg96 Amen brother!

  • cuba dumbass. giraffe feces. shitty song.

  • i don't even remember what you posted, but i'm sure you're wrong.

  • This is what you posted, an insult and you don't even know me. To wit:

you're an idiot, both those versions are trash - this is the second best next to the original.

The song sucks as do you. You are wrong. Eat shit and die slowly and painfully.

  • oh yeah, you were totally wrong.

  • also, why do you keep mentioning cuba?

  • because you are an idiot.

  • oh ok, you mentioned cuba because i'm an idiot and singing a song really slowly but changing nothing of the music except adding distortion is creativity. ok, sorry, i didn't know your were mentally challenged, sorry for picking on you. i hope they find a cure for you some day. best wishes.

  • Sweet days of summer, the jasmine's in bloom

July is dressed up and playing her tune

When I come home from a hard day's work

And you're waiting there, not a care in the world

I See the smile a-waiting in the kitchen

Food cooking and the plates for two
