Its obvious at every episode, Johan is someone very, very, (goes on...) special to Judai... not to offend, but... one reason why they think Asuka and Judai have a (I felt suddenly dizzy) relationship is because Asuka is the lead girl or the girl who is at screen starting on Season 1. Then look at Johan *stares at Johan* he came suddenly and if you notice, Judai's actions towards Johan is way, way more, more, (goes on...) sweet than his fellow friends. SPIRITSHIPPING FOREVER!!!

LOVE in this anime just means friendship, u know. It IS about duel monsters and dueling, u know, not about cute anime couples. Anyway, the love (in its proper sense, not friendship) between Asuka and Judai has been confirmed by a few episodes, including one where Asuka almost reveals that she loves him, blushes, and rapidly changes the subject. In the final episode, Fubuki informs Judai that he can go out with his sister (Asuka) by letter.

I don't deny that Asuka likes Judai (in fact, on multiple forums, I have defended the view that Asuka does have a crush on him). However, to me, it doesn't seem as if it is returned. All of the things that suggest the two as a couple- for example, Asuka's head resting on Judai in the first season after the fight with Abidos (I think, or maybe Amnael) go one way- Asuka to Judai. I could say a lot on this topic.

Asuka did not manage to completely "reveal" her feelings to Judai in Episode 162, she only managed to say that she was glad that she met him. And in Episode 180, it is obvious that Asuka is trying to hint that she likes him, and Fubuki at least makes it seem like he supports her in it. However, after seeing this, Judai says that he is going to continue his adventure- outside duel academy, and away from his friends. He didn't even mention seeing Asuka.

The "relationship problems" in the fourth season- or rather, Episodes 161 and 162- go one way. Although Asuka acts all hurt by Judai's actions, and disregard for her, Judai doesn't even look hurt, only thoughtful when she switches teams and yells at him, etc. Besides, if he liked her, why was there that look of shock when she ended up being his duel partner, wouldn't he ask her? I don't really see Judai as the shy type when it comes to relationships. He wanted her out of the way. That's not love

I'll admit tho- now, Judai x Johan is over. Judai doesn't really seem interested in interacting with Johan anymore, or anyone besides his cards. I think it kind of ended when he learned about his past life, and the responsibility that he made for himself with the promise to Yubel. He no longer lives to have fun. He's more of a loner now. Even in ep174-6, when it was obvious that the two still share a tight bond, Johan was far more interested in interacting with Judai than the other way around.

And towards the end, Judai seemed to not really care about Johan a bit either, -but- not trying to be biased, I still believe he cares for Johan a bit more than the others what with everything in the 3rd season and all, and in the end, he regained his true, formal self, so who knows? Maybe his interests changed? lol. But I'll love SS forever!
