Search Google for something like "Yojimbo Zanmato guide". It may look complicated but don't worry, It is... xD well just follow it... OR the alternative route is to pay him over 100 000 Gil every time, that makes him use it much more.

Well, yeah, when you use Yojimbo it's really easy. Especially with loads of gil and max compatibility. I get freebies from Yojimbo quite often, but I never used him on the dark aeons.

Normally the sites say to offer him 10000 vs low monsters like besaid's, then 5000 vs better monsters. I gave him always 10000 and my zanmato level is improving, with an higher probability everytime (the turbo increases it too)

there's more to it than how much money you give him. Depends how u respond to him when you first meet him and give him a ton of money at first.  Then the best way to get ur relationship up with him is use him in small fights. If he has a good fight and uses zanmato or wakizashi save your game, if he uses his dog then its time to reload an earlier save because it forces ur relationship to go down. Last time I played it he was wipping out zanmatos without me giving him any money :)

The International version has a modified formula to calculate which attack Yojimbo does. With full overdrive, and full compatibility, it costs around 8.4 million gil to guarantee a zanmato against a dark aeon. which is really low compared to the NA version. Which only has a 17% chance when paying him the maximum amount of gil possible in the game. (against monster arena bosses, there aren't any dark aeons in the NA version)

Yojimbo's attacks are RANDOM RANDOM RANDOM!!! The chances of getting Zanmato depends solely on his OD gauge and the amount of gil you pay (combined), it helps to pay him a ridiculous amount like a billion or something.

You forgot one very important thing... The relationship value you have with him.. It all depends on how much gil you payed him when you obtained, how many times he has been killed or dismissed from battle. If you pay him zero gil. If he uses daigoro...etc etc.

Yeah, I was in a hurry to clear up what I wrote above, here's a sheet for his disposition changing accordingly to his attacks.

Yojimbo will like you more if: He wakizashi's one or all enemies, or uses Zanmato.

Nothing happens if: He kozuka's the enemy.

He'll dislike you if he sends Daigoro.

And finally, he'll hate you if he is dismiessed, even more if he dies.
