  • he's in the middle of dinner!

  • I fished a run, the drainage for two mountains, during a thunderstorm in July of '95. Though the water didn't get muddy it was plenty cold, fast, roiled and had risen nearly a foot in an hour.In the meantime the carnivorous Browns were out in-force. These Browns co-exist with the native strain of Brook Trout and are wild themselves from a stocking in the early 1900s .Cleaning my catch of three Browns an hour later I found their stomachs crammed with Brookie fingerlings. Some kind of day.

  • natural section at it finest!

  • Brown trout are territorial and could be the reason for it to eat that trout or it could be a cannibal :p i use a hardbody lure that has the same colour pattern as a small brown trout and have caught plenty of trout on it.

  • its amazing what fish will try and fit in thier moth at one time i once caught two bass on a single lure..like curiosity gets the cat GLUTTONY gets the FISH

  • unbelievable

  • fake and gay

  • fake and gay

  • @roba105 ?????? your fake and gay ? great for u

  • that fish is hungry and greedy

  • i hooked myself in the lip with an egg pattern once. i was snagged on a log and when i pulled the egg comes flying and just pierces my lip. nice job on the fish eating the fish. i had that happen with a bass and blue gill at the little warm water pond by my house.

  • matisyahu is awesome.

  • The fish half-regurgitated what it just ate. Good meal wasted. Good release. But this shows a -ve of fishing. Even when we release, we cost the fish energy and in some cases, a lot of it. That fish was in good condition. Will be fine. Good time of year for getting another meal. You handled it well. Some anglers would not be as good. Costing fish that much energy in late winter for example, or around spawn... Anyway, we do our best to be ethical. Fishing is on the edge. Keeps us close to nature.

  • dont smoke the weed and fly fish im tellin ya, ive come realy close to my ear with a fly but never hooked up, but i did sink a salmon plug past the barb into my finger all the way to the crook of the hook. i couldnt get it out until a few munites later when my finger swelled to the the size of a marshmallow and then the hook just popped out

  • i hooked my mates ear once

Tuffer then lether.

  • The song is called

    Matisyahu: Time of Your Song.

  • Funny pig fish but what is with the Jamaican rap and the ridiculous looknig hats?

  • wow you think after trying to down that thing it wouldnt want to eat a wooly bugger lol

  • no trout can say no to the WOOLY BUGGER!

  • wats the name of the song???

    great song and video

  • i don't know but im pretty sure it sounds like an artist called "matisyahu" hes a jewish reggae artist. type it in i think i heard the word "arrow" so type in matisyahu - arrow it might be there goodluck

  • its called time of your song by matisyahu

  • u couldnt look down a few coments its right their. god u people are lazzzy

  • keep sum

  • Huh! So they do eat'em head first. You'd think that would be harder, nailing them head on instead of from behind. But then, I'm no trout so what do I know...Good video guys.

  • they eat baitfish head first to lay down any spines that bate might have

  • @alan4sure The big brown trout will slam into a smaller trout to stun em, then they clamp on, then flip em around so they can swallow em. Bass do this too.

  • great fish story, and the vid` what a keeper!

fish to live live to fish!

    KEEP ON SLAMMIN`!

  • Browns have been known to wipe out rainbows in a hurry.

  • do they normally eat other trouts?

  • Great footage! Music's not bad either:)

  • That gave me chills...Sweet video guys

  • the trout probably coughed up a recent meal he got hooked by your fly.

  • wheres this?

  • matisyahu = awesome

  • There isn´t anything "freakin ridiculous" about this. Brown trouts are much more piscivorous than most flyfishermen are willing to admit.

  • Agreed. I've caught many browns which had bellies full of chub and crayfish.

Also, I took a 14-in. brownie on a Mepps #1 ... this guy already had a half-digested smaller brownie sticking out of his mouth!

So, hell YES, browns prey on other fish. How does anyone explain a 5-lb. fish from a ten-foot wide stream only six feet at its deepest?

  • man trout can guts themselves if they want to

  • looks like you lot have great fun up there tight lines men

  • great vid

  • Reminded me of a windy day fly fishing with my friend on the Lower Sac river in California. Snagged him right in the neck with a #18 PT. Btw, cool video and what's the name of the song?

  • Time of your life by Matisyahu

  • I actually found out after leaving the msg. Thanks for telling though!

  • That title is misleading, that fish ate first the smaller fish, and after that it took the fly. Pretty usual stuff. Ive caught a trout from finland, that had a mouse in its mouth, and 4 more in its belly! Shame i dont have a video about that, but i got photos.

  • I meant time of your song

  • where were yall? this video makes me want to go fishing with you guys lol!

  • what river were u on

  • I'm not the fishing type, more the keeping of exotic animals type... but that was a cool vid, makes me want to give it another try! THX!

  • Interesting video, but I have a question for you switchfly: What specie of trout was it that the big brown trout ate? And do you often find trout in brown trout bellies?

  • sweet

  • finally a vid worth watching after my own! You would have fun fishing with me in NZ dude.

  • one of my favorite videos on youtube. seriously. love the song, love the editing, you guys seem like cool dudes, i wish i could hang out with you, those fish were beautiful, and yeah, that was "frickin' rediculous".

  • great music

  • you guys live my dream. thanks for making such awesome videos

  • Great Fish...Nice Video...Cavemanish Surgery!

  • hahaha his face got hooked

  • lol

  • Had that happen a few times. Kinda sick

  • bill you would be suprised what a fish can digest.

  • during fog and rain whats your pick of streamers?

do u even use streamers for rainy weather

  • This is the best fishing video ever!

  • So where were you? The Snake?

  • Would the smaller fish not come out of its mouth? I think you should of tried harder to get it out, b/c that brown is probably dead now. I could be wrong, but I can't see it digesting that big of a meal.

  • A fish of that age knows damn well what it can handle.

  • I've seen and heard of gluttonous trout like this before - eating a fly while they are still digesting a large prey fish. They will just carry their prey around until it slowly digests.

If you think it will kill the trout, remember they do not have lungs. Water only has to pass over the gills for the fish to breath, so being a "pig" is no problem... in fact its good go pig out lol.

So don't remove that trout's hard earned dinner for the next several days ;)

  • That is an amazing video! I never imagined trout would keep feeding before it could even get another fish down its gullet! Sweet catch man!!

  • The very reason that every fisher should wear glasses!

  • Lovely video and a great advertisement for someone to visit your part of the world to do some fishing. Those flies were huge, the trout too, everything seems so much bigger than here in Ireland. Nice on, keep it real!

  • Pretty good editing, good footage nice to hear you guys talk good video.
