@AlleJakobs: Well spotted. That fly is a Crazy-Charlie-style Bonefish fly.
We spotted several permit circling a dark spot and had tried some crabs without much success. The Guide (Luis) finally suggested the Bonefish fly, and he was absolutely right!
i did actualy try something similar at the nort coast of scotland... trying o hammer my streamers out through gales - to elusive bass... with spinfishers rocketing their bars of metall and rubber out to the horizon. i admit it can get a bit tedious - but still no reason to change to the dark side... PLUMPSANGLER. =)
@mitschkeil : It definitely was a perfect margharita, well worth getting drunk from! But it was my first this night. The photo was taken on the beach just in front of the Pesca Maya Lodge. There was a 20 meter wide zone of breaking waves. Ever tried to cast a 8inch Barracuda streamer into a gale force headwing for 40 meters?
Cool video and nice fish! BTW, what's the fly just visible in the mouth of the big permit at the end? Looks like simple streamer?
