I had one EXACTLY like this (color, rally wheels), except it was a 1984 (the only difference was the slats in the grille). The most comfortable car I've ever owned. Parted with it at 170,000 miles and it was still running strong. Kept it completely STOCK and in excellent condition. If you are American/Canadian and don't like the classic rear-wheel drive Cutlass Supreme coupe of this era, you either lack taste or are a pretentious import snob. There's a reason it was America's best selling car.
@906757580 couldnt agree with you more, now all the little crap box cars they make now all look alike....fashion sucks, leadership sucks, entertainment sucks...oh bring back the 1980s
hey ladies and gents, if you happen to have one of these, keep it looking good, cause there arent to many of them around, oh and yeah dont put big rims and silly shit on them, not for that!!
The 78-87 Cutlass was an extremely popular car, midsize for that era, great motors, comfortable as hell. And for the 81-86 models you could get the "Brougham" edition and get the V8 and all the luxury Olds had to offer including those beautiful plush velour seats. A friend of mine had an 85 Brougham 4-door white/ dark blue interior, the car was really nice and quiet. It's a shame Oldsmobile is gone, my first car was a 68 Olds Cutlass i bought in 1981. They don't make cars like that anymore. Sad
Unlike most people, my Cutlass has the Olds rallys on it. Doing something different other than throwing 22's on it. Everyone and their momma has big ass rims on these so I decided to go with a nice set of Olds rallys.
@crlaw75 I loved mine, and they came so many colors. Now maybe a car can come in maybe five nowadays. I sold mine because we were going to start a family and needed a car with four doors. I do miss it.

@mikej1894 no I'm just fine thank you very much. it just to bad that you have no taste in cars. wheels make or break the car and 20 inch wheels on a car like this ruin its good looks.
Sooooo true!!! Huge bling bling rims take away from the nice lines of the body. Although a tasteful set of 16-17 in mag wheels can really look great on G-bodies like the Cutlass, Regal, El Camino, etc. I don't understand guys that are like "I'm gonna paint my '85 Cutlass candy green and put 22 in ultra shinny bling bling wheels on it with low profile tires". How about use that money to install a 350 crate motor and some custom wheels that actually complement the car?
My father has two cars,a 77 Caprice, and my grandmother's 76 Delta 88...I live in the Newark/Elizabeth area,so whenever we take it out, some young kid wants to buy them.

DAMN!!!! I had an 84 cutt supreme! nice ass ride! seats were like lazy boy recliners!!! My damn water pump had a slow leak i didn't know about and there went my kick ass ride! It look just like this one only with the 1/4 dark blue vinyl.
generalbraddock American muscle beats import every time. a 350,455 or the 442 would beat a rice burner. if you had nitrous in the burner then yes their is a chance of you winning.
It wasn't gangster, it was classic olds power. Gangsters have nothing to do with cars except making them bounce and ruining the paint. Why can't your type switch to ricers instead of runing classic cars?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I've never liked these. When I was old enough to start recognizing cars in the early 90's these things were already rusty buckets bobbing down the road. These cars went out of style SO fast. They looked dated by the 90's, where as cars of the early 90's still have an appealing shape all these years later. Not all of course, but there are notable models.
Knock it if you wish, but the Cutlass was a very popular car in the 1970s and 80s. Oldsmobile had classy designs. It was the image change of the 1990s that led to the brand's downfall. The switch to generic jelly bean shapes, little to no chrome, and cheap and hideous interiors ruined Oldsmobile.
They were very popular back in the day, but it was a generic GM. Looked like the Riv and Monte Carlo. I prefer the FWD GMs of the 80's. Those were advanced for their day compared to these tanks.
When they say it's the most popular car of the 80's, they aren't kidding. These cars were everywhere back then and so were the "special feel" commercials. I sure miss Cutlass Supremes and the days when these sort of cars were the norm.
omg, thats my car =D i really av olds cutlass supreme ´85 n its my fave car ever =) i heard that here in finland there r like 5 or 6 otha ´85 cutlass supreme so its rare in here =)
I have an '85 Cutlass, I love it and plan on keeping it for a long time, but I wouldn't want to drive on an ice skating rink. On second thought it probably would be pretty fun being rear-wheel drive and all.
i have a restored 1985 cutlass supreme, but its white,i wish they still made oldsmobiles.cars today are b.s. the bumpers are plastic! thats why when you hit a car its destroyed! cars today are crap!
cars these days are structally less quality. back then, it waas thought f the car survives, u survive, but today cars are designed to crumple which is why they are weaker, so they can abosrb a crash so u can survive.
bascailly, cars these days are mechnaically better, rather then structually. though i would love to see bumpers ATLEAST
This blows away the bland generic slab sided crap that Detroit and the imports are pumping out today. Heck you can hardly tell one sedan apart from the next anymore.
if it was really up to me i would rather have company making cars from the 60s, 70s, 80s, an some from 90s, these new fat shaped cars r gay, there bs futuristic designs, what ever happen to the classics, regals an monte carlos were more popular by the way
I had one EXACTLY like this (color, rally wheels), except it was a 1984 (the only difference was the slats in the grille). The most comfortable car I've ever owned. generalbraddock American muscle beats import every time. a 350,455 or the 442 would beat a rice burner. if you had nitrous in the burner then yes their is a chance of you winning.

The 1985 Cutlass Supreme is a ROCK SOLID car. They are kickass because they look amazing, and have power.
We used to have one of the exact same color, but sadly we had to get rid of it. =(

I wonder how many gangsters actually watched this commercial growing up.
This car was pure gangster!. It had power to back it ups looks.
vfIskullangel 2 years ago
It wasn't gangster, it was classic olds power. Gangsters have nothing to do with cars except making them bounce and ruining the paint. Why can't your type switch to ricers instead of runing classic cars?

Luzern76 2 years ago
They were very popular back in the day, but it was a generic GM. Looked like the Riv and Monte Carlo. I prefer the FWD GMs of the 80's. Those were advanced for their day compared to these tanks.

I have a '85 cutlass supreme two tone brown with brown interior bucket and a console shift ... I love my baby

When they say it's the most popular car of the 80's, they aren't kidding. These cars were everywhere back then and so were the "special feel" commercials. I sure miss Cutlass Supremes and the days when these sort of cars were the norm.

I have an '85 Cutlass, I love it and plan on keeping it for a long time, but I wouldn't want to drive on an ice skating rink. On second thought it probably would be pretty fun being rear-wheel drive and all.

I love that car. Stays G'd up

I'd have to say this is the best "There is a Special Feel" commercials.... it's nice and drawn out
fujifrontier 3 years ago 4
Cheesy this may be, folks, but that's the way they sold cars in 1985.

I have to agree, the 1980s were among the last of great American cars. Excellent commercial and awesome Oldsmobile. Thanks

i have a restored 1985 cutlass supreme, but its white,i wish they still made oldsmobiles.cars today are b.s. the bumpers are plastic! thats why when you hit a car its destroyed! cars today are crap!

Cheesy it may be, but it works, does it not?
Jurassic0Al 3 years ago
These cars looked great with the t-tops off and high back bucket seats.
rjd442 3 years ago
What happened to the professional look of cars?? Cars today are ridiculous. They're all identical crap. They have no style and are hardly safe.
Todays crap will never be as good as cars like this.
RiiMashuu 3 years ago 5
cars these days are structally less quality. back then, it waas thought f the car survives, u survive, but today cars are designed to crumple which is why they are weaker, so they can abosrb a crash so u can survive.
bascailly, cars these days are mechnaically better, rather then structually. though i would love to see bumpers ATLEAST

This blows away the bland generic slab sided crap that Detroit and the imports are pumping out today. Heck you can hardly tell one sedan apart from the next anymore.
ponchoman49 3 years ago 4
im sorry... are you saying that this oldsmobile is anything but a bland generic slab sided piece of crap?
its a badge engineered Buick Regal, no difference at all!
Thermactor 3 years ago
if it was really up to me i would rather have company making cars from the 60s, 70s, 80s, an some from 90s, these new fat shaped cars r gay, there bs futuristic designs, what ever happen to the classics, regals an monte carlos were more popular by the way
