  • I see from your caption that this was adapted from a tune called the "Happy Farmer". I always thought it sounded a lot like the American Patrol March and was adapted from that. Maybe American Patrol March was adapted from the Happy Farmer. The Tune of American Patrol isn't exactly the same as Red Wing, but it's very similar.

  • Now doesy-doe you partner and now your corner, you doesy-doe! Th song plays through my head as I watch!

  • good stuff man great job

  • Wonderful job! Beatuiflly played.

  • Nice video and very sentimental old song. You did a great job.

  • When I was a child in the 50's in New Orleans there was an ice cream brand called Red Wing and the the ice cream truck used to play the song on its route.

  • For me, Erik, the rythm is more the march's !

Nevertheless, I like this pleasant video and this old tune is very nice !

    Good continuation !

  • Has ya ever consumed as much firewater as I has on this perty white Burford winter's evening? It's awesome what you have played her Mr Viking. I always love the Polka version and I always do it as a medly with Pennsylvania Polka and it goes over well down at the local Saloon here in this corn field. But you have divulged an important piece of imformation here..its the spelling of Kerry Mills..thanks, I will correct this on my Kerry Mills Barn Dance...hik-up..#$@ Rufus

  • fanastic Polka version!!!i didnt know the full story behind the song!!thanks for posting!!!

  • That's one of my favorite tunes. Good work!

  • Thanks Vi! Does your version have the bridge part in it?....Too bad we can't jam!...>ERIK

  • Yeah, the bridge really makes the song. :)

  • Actually, I play it with the chorus, but not the bridge you played around 1:24. That's an interesting addition. I play it more like a rag than a polka. :)

  • WELL GREAT THEN! Let's hear your ragtime version of "Red Wing". Please post it Vi...ERIK

  • I will, but it may not be right away.

  • Very nice music, bravo Erik!

    (5*****) Bruno.
