  • Its the electric and hydraulic pumps so that they can control the flaps and ailerons.

  • @3624nathan And sometimes they keep running until the engines are making more power then they stop.

  • I`ve never heard that dog barking sound on takeoff, only pushback... that`s kind of strange! Usually it means only one engine is running or it`s in test, doesn`t it?

  • Power Transfer Unit (PTU) is a device that transfers hydraulic power from one of an aircraft's hydraulic systems to another in the event that second system has failed or been turned off. The PTU on A320s make this sound, it can be a bit disconcerting to those new on A320 family aircraft. It's quite normal though, and it doesn't indicate any kind of worn equipment or something that's failing.
