Oh now I get it. It says "Ganbare" (ガ ン バ レ） (the ten ten on the "ha" character is made by the Paratroopas).

Ganbare is a japanese expression often transalted as "Persevere" or "Keep it up".

I remember an old video that was on google video of the guy trying like a million times just to beat the first level of this hack successfully, while going on the second level he simply gave up after like 10 tries or so. You could hear him in the background cussing whenever he loses lol. Since that day, I've never seen the end of that game nor that I'd ever want to play it myself as I'd end up killing someone just on the fustration to complete that game... lol

Well, I tell for everybody who still says like "CHEATS!!"...

The fire stick: the guy who played, placed Mario in a place where the stick could not reach him. As the stick moves non-continuously, though it seems not, the collision is not detected.

The invisible block: well, if you pause the video right when he "hits" the block, you see he never gets close to it. At his highest jump he was still a few pixels below it.

The wall jump: just a well-known glitch, same for thruwall when riding platform.

Tool-assisted runs are pretty lame. In some cases they're nice, like if you just wanna mess with them, but for something like this it's lame. Check out my video of the first level. It shows you how to beat it faster and easier. All I did was edit out the parts where I did. It's more of a tutorial. I'm not bragging about me completing it.

00:23 - There is an invisible box in the original version which you will hit by that jump but it seems you removed it and fire stick does no damage as I see even its obviously hit.

I don't have a problem with TAS runs. Obviously it would be better to see a proper run that uses 100% skill but a TAS run gives an idea of what pure perfection would be. It doesn't use cheats, say to make Mario invincible, it just allows slowing down and save states etc to slow what a perfect run would look like if all human error was removed. It's interesting stuff if you ask me.

Not really, if you go through it the right way (IE, don't jump on top of the roof at the start) you hit the 2 moving platforms and you use those to get through. You can see them in your video at 2:34.
