  • i'd listen to this if i was drunk in a car with a calibur in my hand about to kill people

  • this sounds like bioshock

  • Heard this song on Shawshank Redemption first, then again on Bioshock! Talk about great stuff!

Now would you kindly thumbs up all round!

  • @OddPieceLady and would you kindly go get stepped on by a big daddy

  • @YouAreACommunist

haha someone can't take a joke kindly!

  • @OddPieceLady I realized the reference literally the moment I posted the comment, the second response is a reference also. Or did you recognise that?

  • Fred Sanford sent me here...you big dummy.

  • LOVE to this amazing piece of music!

  • now that's what i call a song .....

  • 2nd time watching Shawshank Redemption I realised this was also in Bioshock. Love it!

  • 2 people had a nasty experience in the prison showers

  • The Ink Spots are a truly, truly wonderful band, and the 2 people that don't like this obviously clicked this by accident, and immediately clicked dislike button because is wasn't their fucking annoying ass Techno. Get some true music love haters

  • @Gadget551 i'm a huge fan of the ink spots and most classics like them, but at the same time i've explored the new technologies that our generation has to offer to help create the master pieces of genres such as Hardstyle or house. Honestly, if a 16 year old boy can accept both and enjoy the music for what it is, then i'm sure others can at least try the new stuff. I agree that this song and all others like it are and forever will be purely REAL music.

  • @Crsjcc Agreed, and yeah your true about what you said, i just had a passionate moment there

  • thanks!

  • Wait this song is in bioshock?

  • BIOSHOCK! :D

  • @TheEverfade Yesss bioshock! Such an amazing game! I just love this song! Check out my channel, I am doing a bioshock let's play!

  • YES! Fallout 3 brought several songs into my life. There's just nothing like putting a mutant into the crosshairs of your sniper rife, while softly singing "If I didn't care"...

  • @jasondillard1974 Nice try bro

  • @jasondillard1974 this song wasnt in fallout 3 ur thinking of i dont want to set the world on fire by the inkspots same band and their songs have benn used alot in fallout

  • It is amazing to see that no matter how fast years go by , music will always be there for us.

  • The Best moovie I've ever seen, and it's an unforgetable track of it.

  • i hear that song on the game "Bioshock"

  • @seclusionloner wow srsly lol

  • @insolence what's srsly?

  • @seclusionloner srsly = seriously

I wasn't sure if you were joking about hearing this song in a video game lol =-\

  • @insolence Yup this is in the game Bioshock ^_^. I think it is great that such beautiful songs should be in songs. It keeps the younger generation aware of the classic stuff :)

  • @B10NICBURITO Exactly!!!

  • @insolence haha i meant "such beautiful songs should be in games"*** . You get my point anyway ^_^

  • @B10NICBURITO were in bioshock? the only song i ever heard was under the see

  • @billybobboberson From what I remember, it is in the first level of the game. There will be a small booth (or helpdesk) with a gramophone on it. The song is played there.

  • @B10NICBURITO I agree. Fallout 3 is half the reason I've fallen in love with the oldies. Now I'm buying Sinatra and Dean Martin CDs, but if I see the Ink Spots, I'll definitely buy one of them.

  • @BurnsideKing haha i started listening to billy holiday cos fallout lol :O)

  • this is one of the most beautiful songs of all time

  • I honestly think this is the greatest movie ever made, and I have for years and years, no other movie has come close to touching how excellent I find this movie, and I don't ever expect one to.

  • 0:00 - 0:10 - amazing.

  • Thumbs up if you'd love to drink a cold beer with Andy Dufresne in Zihuatanejo !!!

  • I first fell in love with this song when I played through Bioshock and I heard it on one of the record players in game... then I realized afterwards that this song was in the opening of my all time favorite movie... :D

  • @pearceand

I had the exact same thing.

Only I was playing fallout 3.

    Cheers.

  • Thank you for that posting, I have always wanted to hear this song, it's been on my mind forever but I could n't put a name to it.

  • Thumbs up if you never saw the movie but just want to listen to the Ink Spots.

  • @goback3spaces if you never saw the movie you are REALLY missing out.

  • @bobbyfearfactor Agreed. Also, read the story by Stephen King that inspired the movie (Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption).

  • @goback3spaces Watch The Shawshank Redemption. You will fall in love with it.

  • @bman101298 first time i watched i did and fell in love with this song so i won double lol its a great movie with great actors

  • Man this is so beautiful, as is the movie. Such a powerful and emotional movie was so great to see. I highly recommend it to those that have not seen it.

  • Anyone know if the Ink Spots wrote this? This isn't them performing it (right?)

  • @timberbothy2 I'm pretty sure the Ink Spots wrote this.

  • @Elliot0k The song was written by the great Jack Lawrence.

  • @timberbothy2 im prety sure this is them. they had alot of member changes.

  • @timberbothy2 And I'm pretty sure its The Inks Spots performing too. Just listen to a couple other songs from them.

  • @timberbothy2 And I'm pretty sure its The Inks Spots performing too. Just listen to a couple other songs from them, like My Prayer, Maybe, Whispering Grass, Do I worry. Yeah.. good, good stuff..

  • @timberbothy2 Jack Lawrence wrote it, but yes, this is the Ink Spots, who made the first recording of it.

  • 1:18 huh, I didn't know Joe Pesci was in The Shawshank Redemption

  • how much money do the copyright owners make nowadays for leasing their songs ironicly?

  • i love this song but i cant find this song of this woman singing i just find a bunch of black dudes singing this song but it sounds better a woman singing it

any one know where to find this song in youtube?? the exact one

  • @thahussle well those "black guys" are the ink spots so just type in "If i didnt care amy adams" and you'll find it

  • @haltrix oh those guys were gifted lol ok thankzz

  • Man, do I love The Ink Spots. If it wasn't for prohibition and the impending doom of World War II on the horizon, I would have loved to be alive during the 1920's and 1930's.

  • Taken in Fallout 3 for Introduction. Excellent song;)

  • @bip3r That was I don't want to set the world on fire.

  • i got this from bioshock

  • Still can't believe it was written by Stephen King.

  • if those dumb bitches hadn't cancelled 'Cold Case' this would be a perfect song to use dumb bitches!!

  • I'm curious the member's name who sang this song originally since the Ink Spots have changed band members over the years. I know the Original member Lead singer is: Jerry Daniels.. So I'm curious... Thanks!

  • @keana672 the lead singer of the inspots from 1939 till 1956 i think? was bill Kenny

  • Hi. Can someone tell me who sang this song? Was it Bill Kenny? Thanks!

  • Why wasn't this song in Fallout 3.

What is it with the Ink Spots. Their songs always seem to show up in great works.

  • @dyne313 That song was in Bioshock

  • @dyne313 this the theme song for fallout 2, inspots were in fallout3 with maybe and i don't want to set the world on fire.

  • Great song and great movie.

  • This is the song Fred G. Sanford of Sanford and Son fame always attempts to sing when you give him the chance.

  • the phrase "insanely brilliant" was made for this movie.

  • great classic song, great film too :D Class never gets better

  • I was running with my machine gun in Bioshock killing splicers and I heard this song :D

  • my friend loves this song and she showed me and i was like "i've heard that somewhere before' and then i screamed 'SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION". yeah, my lifes exciting.

  • I love this song. I have a different version on my iPod but now I need to get this one. The Ink Spots = Amazing!

  • @SUPERDOUGHNUTTY actually i watched an ep of Sanford and Son, and Fred sang this song, ...well, he sings the last bit of the song a few times in the series xD

i finally jus had to look it up >_> and its a nice song lol

  • @SUPERDOUGHNUTTY

i actually heard this on Fallout 3 :)

  • @MegaSpooke isnt in that game, The songs "I dont want to set the world on fire", "Maybe", and "Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall"

  • @InfernalSpawnODOOM

You are right , my bad

  • "Andy crawled through a river of shit and came out clean on the other side" Best line Ever

  • @Pivotchop

Why he chose enchilada night, I will never know.

  • @Pivotchop "Why he chose Enchilada night, I will never know" The Family Guy version xD

  • @Pivotchop fucking loved the Family Guy spoof. "the kind of water you know your friend got from the bathroom and not the kitchen..." lol

  • Such a talented vocalist. beautiful voice and great control over it. Such a wonderful song and melody 5/5

  • thumbs up if this is ur favorite movie

  • This movie is truely astonishing, this movie makes you think about life. It tells you how truely corrupt/evil people are, and then it tells you you'll never know who is truely your best friend and you never know what you'll do to survive. I give this movie, movie of the years.

  • FUCKING SPLICERS LOLOLOLOL LOVE THIS SONG

  • Whose the douche who dissed the song >:(

  • I say this movie should have won all the academy awards that year. Not Forrest Gump just my humble opinion but I preferred Shawshank. Also hey they put this song in Bioshock 2! It's just a wonderful song

  • @squishsqshy in first Bioshock...

  • @squishsqshy no question about that bro. This beats out Forrest Gump and Pulp Fiction overall, with the exception of Tom Hanks out-acting Tim Robbins.

  • @squishsqshy I agree with you. This movie was much better than Forrest Gump even though I really like that movie too. And this is a great song.

  • I love this movie! It's my fave. Wonderful song too.

  • Nice song, just one great part of The Shawshank Redemption (the greatest movie of all-time).

  • Andy sitting in his car, heartbroken, furious, and drunk. Always pops in my head when I hear this song.

  • @ThunderD15 same here!

  • This pops up a few times in Blade Runner too.

  • i love this song! :)

  • who sings this ? the ink spots version doesn't sound like this

  • @NukeForBinLaden24356 it most certainly does. this IS The Inkspots. It's the one done at the recording studio circa 1939

  • @NukeForBinLaden24356 pretty sure it does, actually.

  • finally a good song to listen to and a great movie. 5/5

  • Puts me back to the 1940s when I was just a little boy. This is pure nostalgia! Greetings to one and all from Jarrahnut (Colin) in wonderful Western Australia.

  • Wow! It must be wonderful remembering something like this!

I was born in the 90s and to be honest I find it awesome when people find something that reminds them of their childhood.

  • @Jarrahnut Western Australia for the win. Love living in Perth but lovely comment mate

  • One of my top 10 favorite movies!!!

  • Comment removed

  • the movie was good, but they missed so much potential from the book, like the opening court case, and the different times of his life in prosion. in the book he doesnt get out til the 70s

  • 14 years of age, best film in the world

  • Still book is better than movie;P But movie is very close:)

  • *SPOILER!!!*

almost cried when andy and red met at the end on the beach

  • i did

  • @shawkobezhu ALMOST...i was crying before the even met

  • @shawkobezhu Same here. It's so nice. Most movies don't end that way. That's one reason i love this movie. And the music is so good too.

  • @shawkobezhu Indeed, that movie is without a doubt the best movie I've ever seen. I cried myself throughout various points in the movie.

  • @shawkobezhu I wish the guy that played andy would really go to prison and get ass fucked, because his liberal ass deserves it.

  • @shawkobezhu Same.

  • @shawkobezhu don't lie , you DID cry...lol

  • Top movie!

  • Yeah, i'll retire in Zihuatanejo.

  • dyslexics start at 106

  • Thats realy good movie

  • I think it is in the top ten movies ever made

  • You're all so right, i saw it for the first time one month ago, since then i've seen it over 10 times. Without a doub't the best movie ever made!

  • This is my favorite movie, every time I see it it seems as good as new, even though it's 14 years old!

  • amen to that brother,

    this movie is downright amazing.

  • 14 years old is not very old, most good movies were made back then

  • shawshank redemption = one of the best movies ever made

Ink Spots = a pretty good old time group

  • shawshank redemption... truley touching movie, makes you wish that the movie never ended.

  • Kinda freaky how this song fits Andy and his wife so well...

  • sounds better in bioshock

  • Defintely :)

  • it sounds the same

  • it sounds better in bioshock even know there the same in the game the song gave it suspense

  • I don't know what it is about this song but it really makes me want to gun down, blow up, fry, electrocute, and or freeze Splicers.

  • hell yea man

  • its that "set the world on fire"? not "if i didnt care?

  • My grandpa used to have an old record player that smelled of old, tarnished brass. Hearing this song, that smell immediately returns to me subconsciously. how wierd

  • I love it

  • @svadonia Ah it's not so weird =p I read somewhere that the sense of smell is the biggest trigger to our memories, and, I think sound is a close second but not to sure on that. Although I guess I should have looked up this info before commenting but oh well =D
