no, it uses music tracks from the 70s. The characters talk about how they haven't heard those songs since they were in school, meaning it couldn't be set in the 70s. It just has a very nostalgic 1970's style.

This game is so awsome and I don't know about any of you guys but GTA san andreas is the new bomb, but this is a classic something our parents watched when they were teens in the 70's but you know I'm right its a classic and so good you can't even rate it on a scale of one to ten.
