  • Loved Carl's playing. His bass playing is right up there with Paul McCartney's. Have you heard him on "Let it Rain"? If you are watching this video you probably have. Funky, warm and melodic is what his style was. If I played bass, I would want to sound like Carl.

Jamie Oldaker. Great drummer. Clapton always had great drummers in his bands.

George Terry. I always wondered what happened to him. A perfect choice for this band. BTW, he sort of looks like Gary Moore doesn't he?

    Thanks.

  • Haha thats my dad sittin on the bass Bill Raffensperger. Carl Radle learned from him and took his place with J.J. Cale when ,my dad came back from California. Both graduated from Edison HS here in TUlsa

  • Jamie Oldaker is the best drummer

  • What an awesome bass player he was. Nobody ever plays "Layla" like Radle played it.

  • This may seem corny, but I think it would have been fun to play a few licks of one of the MANY Gary Lewis mega hits that Carl played on in 65-66. Would have brought a bit of levity and history too. We all start somewhere and so did Carl.

  • Carl Dean Radle is missed...Great person, great musician...another casualty of the road.

When you listen to someones music, you really get to know the best part of them.

  • From a fellow Tulsan, all I can say is that Carl Radle truly was a musical poet & genius. Just take the time to go listen to his work on the Layla album .... that alone displays the master Carl was of his music, his instrument, and for true blues & rock music. It made my day to see such a spectacular tribute to this man. And, it warms the soul to know that someone as established as Clapton would take the time to write such a personal, truthful, and heartfelt note for this event.

  • Saw Mr. Radle plaing with Clapton on a few occasions years back...great, great bassist!

  • I loved Carl, in my opinion, the best bass player to share the stage with him.(EC) The last time I saw George Terry was when he jammed with Eric Clapton at the James L. Knight Center in Miami.(April/1985)It was the best show of Eric's I've ever seen.

  • Now that is what the USA is all about...Rock N Roll old School. Brad Hayslett, Ocala Fl

  • A great tribute to someone who has worked with other greats!

  • Though I never knew him personaly, Carl Radle's music will resonate in my soul as long as I live, and I'm grateful for it. Thanks Carl.

  • Nice tribute to a great, great musician!

  • Thanks Much. I recall the emotions I felt at Mr.Radles demise. I was not even aware of the reunion. There are a handfull of bassplayers I've admired and carl is certainly one of them. He influenced my playing. Thanks again and Be Well J. P.

  • Real muscicians playing real instruments!

Nice shot of Carl's Alembic bass and roadcase too!
