I grew up with Roy when i was a kid back in the 80's when i listened to my mom's records. Blue Velvet did an amazing job with this song.

it's the least gayest video, dedicated to a great song and a great man. ever since dennis hopper and blue velvet, people feel the need to turn this song into a creep show. you got close but not quite. bring back the pure, uncorrupted love of music, if you can....

During the film , Frank Booth is deeply touched by this song, and even if the scene at Ben's house is kinda strange, i think David Lynch used this song to make a strange contrast between Frank Booth's violent temper and the beautifulness of this song. The point of a good song is to create an emotion within its listener, and it doesn't necessarily have to be happiness.

@DubbyBenJ i used to play guitar in a roy orbison tribute band (youtube larry branson) in 1990. roy's brother, sam, toured with us and sold merchandise. according to sam and others, roy never liked the 'blue velvet' interpretation of his song, 'in dreams'. however, he liked van halen's version of 'pretty woman'; it revived his career in the '80's....
