Heavens to Murgatroid! What a fun & informative clip! The late great Mr Butler certainly comes across as a humble, nice, down to earth, gentle & soft spoken gent. What class! And one of the immortals when it comes to voice over artists. MANY thanks for posting this utterly delightful "blast from the past"! You've MADE my day & my week! CHEERS, mate! :-)
what a great guy,its just not the same without Daws Butler or Mel Blanc,the art is gone from animation and voice overs,for instance,I tried to watch where the wild things are with a bunch of idiots just talking with no character at all,it was just awful,Daws seems so humble and classy and professional here,even the seemingly silly voices are given real personality from ppl like this,thanks for posting
@fraterlucifer888 I actually liked that film but regardless of that, the magic is not gone from voiceovers. Daws, Mel and many of the other first generation voice actors were great and pioneers in the field but Voice acting didn't die along with them.
One of the bands I was in during my 20's was called "Snaggle Pusss". It was our "back up" name so if the crowd hated us (cuz we sucked), we would come back from our break and say, "thank you detroit, we are snaggle pusss. our next song is called 'gay black male'. then we'd proceed to do thrash metal b.s. that made no sense. after the song we'd all say, "the cage door is open... exit stage left!" in our best Snaggle Puss voices. and we'd bail out of the club as fast as we could.
Will Simpson= Whimsical Will of Dr Demento fame?...There was a public TV special Daws Butler Voice Magician just before Daws died (saw it)...someone is selling it online on DVD. ..Joe, I enjoyed your Daws bio(w Ben Ohmart)
I'm not sure I've ever seen video footage of Daws either. This video is really great, and it basically supports everything I've ever read about Daws, that he's a nice, friendly and very talented man full of helpful advice! Thanks for putting this up Joe!
@NintenBeau This is gonna sound a bit off topic, but there was an actor in the movie 'Whatever happened to Baby Jane' in the beginning of the movie, who sounds SOOOO much like Daws, and I'm wondering if that was him?

Interesting - he has a rather humble home. Not what one would think would be typical of a Beverly Hills resident.

Daws was such a sweet guy. So generous with his talent and a mentor without equal. His shoes will never be filled again.

@MrsWLeach I haven't seen that movie so I wouldn't know. Sorry. IMDb?

@MrsWLeach You are thinking of Dave Willock, who played Baby Jane Hudson's father. He also played in several episodes of Green Acres.
