Ok I saw this segment and got so excited, because I was about to enter this same level. I thought, boy does that look fun, I think I could pull that off. Well, someone or something destroyed my collection of explosive barrels, my hacked turret was demolished, I accidentally shot big daddy while fighting with a splicer and I died a horrible, embarrassing death. Then the game asked me to uninstall it because I sucked.

basically, it just requires a setup - I did it today - there was an oil spill with a couple of explsoive barrels - I set up two trip wires and two proximity mines near the barrels - then i put one crossbow shot into his back and he charged me setting off a crazy explosion...only his lifeless body slid to a stop beneath my legs

Note that by that point the trap had already been set. I didn't even need that mine he threw at 1:30. I was just trying to catch it for kicks. Wasted mines was referring specifically to the catch-and-throw back strategy.

This is MEDIUM difficulty, not easy.

Medium is still rather easy. Skipping to Hard is a BIG jump. Still, with the right tactics you can make it, only you'd need two of those explosive spots, and maybe some help from Enrage.

I know you said this 6 months ago but.... I think Easy to Medium is a hell of a big jump. I was surprised at how much more careful I had to be on Medium Difficulty, you actually have to be tactful. while on easy, I basically didn't even need any guns, zap then whack with the wrench, no fun.

No. You can't kill little sisters. The Big Daddy you're taking down has to have a little sister with him when you kill him otherwise you won't get to harvest/save the little sister for Adam. If the Big Daddy doesn't have a little sister in tow with him, follow him around until he goes to one of those vent things in the wall. He'll bang on it and a little sister will come out.

in my expierience the best way to kill a big daddy is to zap it with the electrosis plasmid to stun it then shhot it with armour piercing rounds from your machine gun. it should hopefully die within 20 seconds :D

Oh yeah for sure. That's a well known method of killing a Big Daddy. Stick 5 or 6 proximity mines to a gas cylinder or oil barrel and then just use telekinesis to wing the whole package at him. Expensive but it works.
