@Smallface8 actually this song is about how shitty a job the government did handling Katrina and he made that connection with lines such as "don't want to reach for me do you" pointing out that the government really took it's time to do something about Katrina and "there will be no mistaking, the levees are breaking" referring to the levees breaking which is why the damage was so catastrophic. So yeah, you can get down off your throne now because he was right and you were wrong.

The fact that I said GWB disliked this song, doesn't mean that I can't rationally listen to the lyrics, and irregardless of my politically ideology, whether conservative, moderate, or liberal, conclude that GWB is the subject of LP's lyrics. After LP directly references Katrina they say in reference to GWB, "Don't want to reach for me do you, I mean nothing to you." Who do you think THAT "you" is?

Anyone else have a massively hard time getting into A Thousand Suns? M2M ended SO WELL with this song and then ATS was just...meh. Still love Hybrid Theory and Meteora and M2M though. Hopefully ATS was just a blip and their next album will be awesome!

While most pop "songs" today are about having sex, dancing all night and most disturbingly, putting your hands up, LP demonstrates that it is possible to create a song with simple lyrics yet with a deep meaning. TYTGYA is the best example of the accumulation of their efforts to create a different style. It makes me proud to be a fan since the Hybrid Theory days.
