  • What Great Harmony and Lyrics and just great soul sound. This is ONE fantastic sound. It brings back such great memories.

  • Love this classic sorry that i forgot about this one. Two much motown rolling around in my head. Born and raise in the D baby.

  • YEA..IT DOES SOUND LIKE EDDIE KENDRICKS...

  • The lead singer and Eddie Kendricks have similar sounds - so rhythmic - hard to sing that high, maintain the key, not go off pitch. My daughter thought it WAS Eddie Kendricks - had to school her.

  • @CheckMate657879

Glad to see some people still remember this classic......There is so much to school your daughter about

    thanks

  • @davidntia06

It does not sound familiar Do you have any more info on it as I may Have it

  • I still have it from the sixties it was played in all the great soul clubs up and down the UK in the sixties FANTASTIC RECORD!!!! brings back some really cool memories

    Thanks

  • @catfishs

Was not aware it was a hit in UK

    Thanks

    Hwaj5300

  • @catfishs

It wasn't a hit it was considered quite a rare record, soul clubs in the UK in the sixties played motown and the more obscure and rarer imports on home grown US small town labels although I wouldn't class 'I'm gonna miss you' as obscure or rare as such it was certainly not a mainstream record. And I was more than once offered three or four times as much as what I had oriuginally paid for it

  • @catfishs

I guess it was a little more popular in the state not a big hit..but somewhat of a hit.

It was on the"Brunswick" lable here in the states...a subsidiary of Decca now Mci

    Thanks from the states

  • This was one of the 'slow' dance records played at the end of the night when you hoped to walk the girl home, the other favourite being "Stay in my lonely arms" by the Elgins. Oh the memories!!

  • Slow Dance?

We used to do "The Temptation Walk" to this song.

  • There are a couple of re-recorded versions of this song on YouTube, but this one is the original and still the best.

  • Comment removed

  • Two and a half minutes of symphonic mastery.

Probably the greatest record ever recorded.
