  • The bottom line is that people have to find a therapy that works for them. While Bowen might work for me perfectly, it might not work for you or someone else, the same way. Live and let live!

  • I know Bowen worked on me because I had a reaction to my first treatment where you feel worse for a day or two while the body heals, and the suddenly it all falls into place and the pain disappears. The effects of Bowen last for a long time even after a year or two after treatment, my pains would correct themselves. I didnt have to keep going back for more treatments to manage my problem, like with massage etc.Bowen "cured" my pain- dont know how- people can call it what they want but it works!.

  • This technique seems designed for "therapists" (aka quacks) who don't like to do too much during a session, as well as for patients who don't really care whether or not the massage is physically effective.

  • @Beau74 You never know unless you try it. It has helped with my chronic low back pain.

  • @Zenki293

Then you must be very susceptible to placebo effect.

  • @Zenki293can see why you'd think that because hard to see what the big deal is with Bowen. I had a course of Bowen recently, and it profoundly affected me,... somehow - don't ask me - placebo or not - totally eliminated a lot of pain in my shoulders and back that wasn't going to be relieved easily with any therapy - certainly not by some poofy quack fiddling about with hocus pocus stuff and then sending me on my merry way after charging a small fortune - been there done that and was pissed off.

  • @Beau74 For God's sake, put your precious ego away for a second and quit playing God, all you people with your amazingly brilliant judgments on just about every subject known to man. Are you really qualified to make pronouncements about what Bowen is, or is not ? Do you REALLY, REALLY... know the answer to why Bowen might, or might not work ? Since you know so much about Bowen, I imagine you also know the answer to many other mysteries that perplex mankind - please do tell - I'm fascinated.

Oh here we go. Yeah, I think I'm qualified- just as qualified as the guy who came up with this so-called "technique," since he wasn't a certified therapist either. And once anyone accuses who holistic healing of having a placebo effect here come the naysayers. "But it was really effective on my mom's friend's first cousin's back pain..."

Look at the video. This couldn't even be called a massage. There is nothing being done. It's merely a relaxation session.
