  • The best wierdest picture of all time!, Erazor head is bizarre, like el topo( the most bizarre western ever made).

  • This scene is so strange on so many levels.

  • Dennis Hopper was great in this. He should have been given an Academy Award.

  • I'm a big movie fan and, shamefully, I only watched this movie recently. I'm now officially a big fan of David Lynch. Bizarre, colourful, sadomasochistic, hilarious, engaging, beautiful, peculiar and bloody brilliant film! I'm sure there are more adjectives that are perfectly fitting for this movie.

  • Pete from Twin Peak!

  • this movie is a masterpiece!

  • You're one suave fucker!

  • for some reason this sequence always gets me ...

    Lynch no words.

  • classic

  • David Lynch the director of this movie is a genius. No one who ever sees this movie forgets it.

  • This scene so creeped me out cause "In Dreams" is one of my favorite songs cause of the beautiful lyrics. Get a copy of "In Dreams" and listen to the lyrics as it's so beautiful.

  • Awesome scene from awesome movie. Fuck the academy... Hopper shoul have been get fucking oscar from this!

  • @gwildorr Apparently, the Academy wanted to nominate him for this, but they felt it was too disturbing, so they nominated him for Hoosiers instead.

  • @Raymz22 That's right!! The magic music by Roy Orbison and the crazy atmosphere of this scene always give me thrills...!!!!

  • 1:11 - 1:19 I'm gonna cry, I feel like dennis

  • Great movie

  • here's to Ben

  • ah... what a genius scene. i could watch it a million times.

  • Great Movie!!

  • HEINEKEN,...is for detectives. and THE BEST

PS this is probably my favorite, creepiest, most Lynchian scene in existence

making Dennis Hopper cry? YOU HAVE COMPLETE POWER..but now he's dead, so, dammit Dean, feel bad or something

  • In reply for the 9 shit heads:

    Blue Pabst Ribbon Fuckers!!!!!

  • Alright...this scene is starting to freak me out...

  • This scene is so unnerving

  • @darkamotions66 Somehow, I find it relatable...

  • Alan Wake!

  • The first time I seen the movie I was blown away, Hopper and Roy, wow and wow.

  • Hopper was one suave sob! RIP dennis!

  • R.I.P. Roy Orbison R.I.P. Dennis Hopper

  • Every time this Roy Orbison song on the radio, I can't help but think of this crazy-ass scene from Blue Velvet. LOL

  • Heineken < Pabst

  • 7 peoples are not polite.

  • Pabst. Blue. Ribbon.

  • PABST BLUE RIBBON!

  • looks like a fun party

  • @doug666doug

    It is.

  • What a scene :). R.I.P. Dennis Hopper, what a legend.

  • AWESOME

  • BABY WANTS TO FUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!

  • i was cheering for dennis hopper throughout this film :(

  • ALAN WAKE!

  • god damn Blue Velvet is like nothing i've seen before

  • Dammit Dennis Hopper, why'd you have to die man!?

  • @OhhhMyAxels ....we have to go sometimes Bro...it's my time...nobody lives forever!!!! that's exactly what he would say...seing him in films!!!

  • @OhhhMyAxels Yeah really! I was totally blown away when he died, I thought he was going to live forever! I love Dennis Hopper, best on screen villain ever!!!!!

  • bless brad dourif (lord of the rings/child'splay/dune/cuckoo's nest) having a little dance in the background, shame the camera rarely gets any closer to him than that!

  • @WalkingWhiteQueen Let's not forget Doc Cochran in DEADWOOD and Hazel Motes in WISE BLOOD. Dourif's a very underrated actor.

  • @springsteenrules WOW....super creepy people...

  • One of these Halloweens, I'm going to dress up as Ben, knock on people's doors and sing this song to them. It will be the best thing ever. I love this movie.

  • Frank Booth was the world's first Hipster... PABST BLUE RIBBON FTW!

  • This scene would be even more surreal if Dean Stockwell had sung the Archies song Sugar Sugar, although that probably would have caused riots in movie theaters across the country. :)

  • This scene is like a moving painting. I don't know how else to describe it.

  • I feel quite mixed about this film actually. But this scene is beyond legendary.

  • 6 people like Heineken

  • @baruavice To be fair to this movie, this was before PBR became "hip."

  • @baruavice

    Heineken?? FUCK THAT SHIT MAN

    Pabst Blue Ribbon!

  • @baruavice Heineken?! FUCK THAT SHIT!!!!

  • The best mystery movie ever, and the strangest movie ever. Lynch is a genius.

  • @thedarkwarlord999 I saw this again recently, and I was struck by 1) how weird it was, and 2) how normal I thought it was when I was younger. Does that make sense?

  • @wookie72 I dunno- Lynch lives in his own world. Even i found it weird as hell the first time i saw it, but the second time it was normal- like any movie.

  • Wish David makes a film like this again.

  • LOL "Alright, let's hit the fuckin' road!" Good one, Hopper

  • most beautiful song ever recorded... sung by the voice of God.

  • best movie every made

  • @springsteenrules could not agree more... RIP Dennis Hopper

  • OMG THIS SONG WAS ON ALAN WAKE!!!!!! And Blue Velvet is by Lynch who created Twin Peaks. Which has sooo many similarities to Alan Wake I can't stand it. As soon as I saw this I started laughing like a mad man! OMG EPIC!

  • god this guy is so fucking suave

  • @springsteenrules I think the second scene wth this song is better. I'm just glad Orbison let Lynch use the song. I remember reading that when Roy first saw the film he was appalled, and Lynch had to do a lot of convincing.

  • I don't know why but every time I watch Blue Velvet I feel dirty afterwards..... and I own the DVD.......

  • this is by far my favorite Lynch film.

  • Maybe youre referinf to second 0:0:49

  • The shot at :39 is one of my favorite's of Lynch's entire careeer....

  • So I'm gonna get to see Isabella Rossellini present a screening of Blue Velvet at this year's Savannah Film Festival. *superexcited*

  • @AngelofMusic04 I'm a Cinema Studies Graduate student at SCAD this year. I'm gona be there too! Can't wait to meet this amazing actress and see this American masterpiece on the big screen.

  • god damn you are one suave fuck.

  • @springsteenrules fuckin A

  • What can you say but ''FUCK HEINIKEN!". RIP Dennis. Your greatest performance imho.

  • Amazing, amazing movie, scene, song, performances, etc. But I get a sick feeling when I see this particular part. Meh! That's David Lynch for you.

  • Hmm. Yes

  • Never gonna be able to watch Quantum Leap again...

  • that boy must have been thinking, 'what the have i got myself into'

  • 6 people missed the like button....

  • @springsteenrules Yes !!!!!

  • now it's dark

  • Best film Dennis Hopper's ever been in thanks to Lynch!!!! Now as the man says let's hit the f'..en road!

  • A very emotional scene.

  • Dean is one suave fuck.

  • Dean Stockwell is a PIMP

  • @springsteenrules

    You're so right.

Hopper, rest in peace my friend.

  • Lynch is my fuckin hero!

  • Dean Stockwell mmmmmmmmmm is very beautiful !!

  • AWESOME

  • So creepy yet so beautiful

  • for some reason i love this scene and this movie...even though its quite strange...i like it =P

  • I don't like this movie, but I like this scene.

  • I have heard that there is a deleated scene from Blue velvet. that after frank Booth hits the fuckin' road with Raymond and crew , and they beat Jeffery Beaumont. he is raped by Frank Booth. is this urban legend or a real out take on the cutting room floor......... Let's Rock! or kcor stel! man from another place rules. the floor from the red room first appears in Eraserhead in the lobby

  • pff all my favorite actors die :((((

  • Great performance, RIP Dennis, we all miss you

  • Fantastic on so many levels

  • " LETS HIT THE FUCKIN ROAD !!!!!"

  • I like how he sort of gets mentally unstable at 1:20 scary guy, Frank. Dennis Hopper is really good here.

  • @MaybeYesNo90 Hopper was fantastic in this movie. I too loved how he flipped out in the scene. He looks like he's not trying to cry. I think it's what makes that character so scary, it's because he remains an enigma the entire movie, and Lynch knew we didn't want to know this guy, not personally, or in any other way, so even flipping out to the song makes him scary. Frank Booth is a walking nightmare, and a fantastic villain from a great actor and director.

  • @shogunblade also, it's pretty disturbing in the scene where we first see him abuse the "blue velvet woman" (can't remember her name), Frank keeps switching between playing either "Baby" and "Daddy", while she plays "Mommy", it's obvious he has childhood issues/conflicts with his parents

  • i love the moment he starts singing. It's so "unexpected" :)

  • RIP Mr. Hopper you crazy sob

  • The 50s was so classy and stylish. Men were men and women were adorable.

  • Dennis Hopper and Dean Stockwell in the same movie. Another reason why Blue Velvet is unforgettable.

  • RIP DENNIS !! FOREVER; IN DREAMS !

  • RIP Dennis

  • ever been to pussy heaven?

  • Let's fuck! I'll fuck anything that moves!

  • D.E.P. Dennis Hopper uno de los más grandes del cine

  • R.I.P. dennis ......thank you

  • RIP DENNIS

  • rip dennis

  • Blue Velvet Its the SHIT

  • Dean Stockwell was brilliant.

  • Check out Alan Wake on the XBXO360 it is a homage to Blue Velvet, finally a video game for grown ups.

  • They pitched the song down, not the original pitch

  • When I started getting into film I avoided Lynch because so many people complained about how his films made no sense. Then I saw Blue Velvet. I've since seen every other Lynch movie. Do they all make sense? Absolutely not. But that doesn't matter. Lynch's style taps directly into the darkest regions of the human Id: his movies don't have to make sense because they invoke emotions like few stories are able to do.

  • @Kagemusha08 while I agree they dont have to make sense in order to be enjoyed, if you analyze them closely you will see thematic elements and symbols that form a coherent whole. Blue Velvet makes a ton of sense, trust me, in fact, I'd argue that it is one of his most lucid films, while also being among his most bizarre. Even Mulhulland Dr makes sense if you watch it enough times

  • long live Dennis Hopper

  • One of the many highlights of David Lynch's best film!

  • Alright, lets hit the fucking road.

  • Brother Cavell is so fucking suave!!

  • WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED?

  • @d3monable lynch is a genius, thats hapend

  • Great stuff...just watch the guy dancing on the sofa...and what happens in the other room...u will never know....David Lynch changed my perception of cinema....Now i always look at things before Lynch and after Lynch....!

  • my fav scene, omg what a movie.!

  • MOVIE GOLD

  • This scene is so perfect. (Better even than Denis Hopper's death in True Romance!)

The goon drinking, the line on the singers jaw from the lamp, the wide shot at 39, the snake dancer, and the arrival of the girl (ringu??!), the double mime (both frank and the "singer" mime), the looko of anguish on hopper's face...

David Lynch and Dennis Hopper are gods.

  • Damn, sounds like you know film making much better than I do!!! LOL!!! Agreed, though. A great scene. Man, I watched this probably 25 years ago when I was in high school. I loved it. Even went out and bought a leather blazer like Frank's!!! His rage is really disturbing. I'd love to know why this song gets him so upset! Happy New Year!

  • @wasteland70

Have you seen Mullholland Drive? Comes close.

  • @wasteland70 Frank gets upset because he is so angry inside that moments of levity cause him pain.

  • Actually ,I think he is going to start crying and stops the song before he is not able to control himself anymore.

  • One of my fave songs of all time - in one of my fave films of all time - by my fave director of all time! - Perfect

  • dreams are your subconscious talking to you, like this movie

  • frank is the man, hes a fucking looni

  • David Lynch is America'sFellini

    the man's genius is electric

  • pure madness

  • laurie spezzano---are you out there listening to this ???---i'm casbah from henley beach

  • I liked this scen a lot, plus when theyt play it again and Hopper Beats Mc Lahan, the song reflects what Frank knows, that the character played by Isabella Rosellini will never love him, that she is coerced to ber with him, Th first time I saw the movie I thougt Kyle Mx clAhan character was going to be raped. Th song gives me the chills, Lynch is a magician

  • Supposedly in the original script it was gonna be some sort of bizarre rape scene. That's what I've heard at least.

  • Well if that is true , and Lynch dint go along I guess it was for fear of censorship from studios , investors, the Mulholland Drive people you know them.

  • Well..This song will never be the same to me again haha

  • Like Stuck in the Middle with You from Reservoir Dogs.

  • The best scene in the movie; or maybe the best scene is when Hopper is calling for his mommy.

  • Great Scene!!!

  • great movie..

  • LETS HIT THE ROAD !! SUPERB *****

  • John Cavil FTW

  • It's fascinating to know that the guy singing into the Work light: A good 38 years before this, he was the boy with green hair.
