  • My God this has Darius' signature written all over it

  • When I broke the cassette tape I had with this song on it back in '97, I was devastated. I didn't think I'd ever hear this song again. Thanks for posting!

  • I use to listen to this song everyday for approx 4 months when i was real sick, now three-five times a week, just as a reminder...I bet 70, 000 of the 74,213 are mine :) GOD BLESS...

  • My last post have to get out of here but I L O V E THS SONG AND CHOIR ASWELL AS LEAD

  • I really love this song, the choir, the lead....everything!! Mississippi Mass gives me true church sound! BUT, is it me or does the early 90's hairstyles crack you up?...this "do" Venora is wearing so much reminds me of my mom back in the day getting ready for Annual Choir Day or something!! LOL LOL

  • I love watching that director. Such passion and poise.

  • again I say we need to bring back choirs like this. I like todays music, but a lot of it is not geared toward your regular sunday morning choirs. Mississippi Mass is the best choir ever hands down!!!!

  • I Lov eThe Way That Man Directed the choir.. Magnificent Job

  • Venora led all of Mississippi Mass Choir songs.

  • yes her voice is beautiful but what's so attractive to peoples ears is the anointing that's on it.

  • I love this choir and musicians, but I wish the director were out of the picture. Too much scene stealing gestures.

  • Mississippi Mass couldn't sing a bad song if they tried, never could, never will. They are just soooooo annointed and on one accord! As far back as i can remember hearing them they have always displayed pure Spiritual excellence! God bless you Mississippi Mass and keep praising God!

  • Condi!!!

  • is there any more new mississippi mass choir cds comin out come on

  • What a blessing Mississippi. My people just across the river. Ain't nobody like them.

  • How can I get in touch with Venora,Ilove hearing her everyday. She is my

idol.Is there a Venora Brown fan club?

  • Oh my GOD.....I REMEMBER THIS SONG...FROM HIGH SCHOOL MARSHALL METRO HIGH WE SANG THE HECK OUTTA THIS SONG!! DARIUS YOU BAD BROTHER!!

    Ms. Nedra

  • Ms Brown has a awesome voice of great quality, she should be featured more, sorry this song is so short for it's the max.

  • Nice, very uplifting!!

  • 1:10, check out the dudes 'do on the right...Keith Washington would be jealous, lol

  • My only complaint about this song is that it ends so quickly. I love it tho!

  • this is my jam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • She did the first song on there first recording.

I fell in love with her as a little boy!!!

  • what ever happen to her why she stopped singing after they recored "it remains to be seen"

  • what ever happen to her why she not on there anymore

  • Last I've heard, she had recently rejoined the choir.

  • Venora Brown.........I love how she sounds like 3 different people in a song......to be an Alto, she has an awesome range........I am glad to hear that she's coming back to the Mississippi Mass Choir......they also need Angela Curry back too. Her voice is a blessing to my soul.

  • angela left??

and inb this video didn't venora sang soprano?

  • last i knew she was singin with her nephew dathan thigpens group...and venora switched back and forth from sop.alto all the time

  • thats her ephew?wow i didt know that.they are like a big family.lol

  • @kenndogg oops!! i was talkin about angela "leah" curry...as far as venora, i heard she was back too... and sang on the reunion album... i d k if its released yet tho....

  • @kenndogg I WONDER IS SHE RELATED TO CORNELL THIGPEN.HE PLAYED THE ORGAN IN MILWAUKEE @ CHRISTIAN FAITH FELLOWSIP(COGIC) ??? B/C THATS NOT A POPULAR NAME

  • i dont kno fam...lol?

  • u kno shes a great mezzo...i wonder if she had voice lessons? if u watch the old vids, she wud switch from soprano/alto on each one, lol

  • @Clarinet07 SHE MAY BE COMFORTABLE IN THE ALTO BUT SHE IS DEFFINATLY A SOPRANO, HOWEVER I CAN APPRECIATE THE VERSITILITY.

  • yes! i agree with that totally!!! she wud prolly be a 2nd? u heard her lead on victory in Jesus rite? soprano all day long, lol

  • @kenndogg YOU KNOW!!!!!!....lol....

  • actually she now fully alto she sing high in falseto

    not chest voice

  • well thats cool, i guess... lol sopranos r way betta :) but i loved her leads u kno?

  • @kenndogg -why you say sopranos are better in what way, may I ask ?

  • @shadhom because there r so many levels of the soprano vocals; the range just can go and go and go...the highr the better; now im not hatin on the other voices, but my hearty is in the soprano section-more so the first sopranos and coloraturas, yes lawd!!! lol

Anyway....I love this song..it's beautiful. It helps me to remember that Jesus will NEVER leave me alone!!!

  • lol, I never thought of that.

  • OMG that is Condi Rice

  • This is such a powerful song. Sing Mass.

  • Im her cousin choochoo, she lives in Macon,Ms. about a year and a half ago she was planning on recording, but im not sure it has happend yet,she is soooo bless

  • That is really good to hear. Tell her when you get a chance that God has used her to bless many people all over the world. To God Be The Glory!!

  • Sing Ms Brown!!!

  • She can sing....I think she's the best female soloist

  • that sista knows she is bad, she will switch it up and become three different people in one song. she should have gone solo.

  • 2:21 is spell binding!!!!!

  • one of the best choirs ever!

all their voices just meshed! and they all could pipe with such anointing!

    I loved them!

i have it on cassette still!

This choir has helped me in many ways!

  • Beautiful Song.....

  • I have this on cd as well as on vhs from way back. She does have a beautiful voice and collectively they sound heavenly.

  • Is she the same lady that sings Having you there?

  • Yes the same one.

  • oh ok thanks for responding

  • She was also a co-vocalist to Rev. Milton Biggham on "All in His Hands" and in the album "It Remains To Be Seen..." she also did "Victory in Jesus"

  • yes she sings have n u there and victory in jesus

  • @Ministerdlyne THAT THE VERY SAME WOMAN THATS SINGS HAVING YOU THERE, I LOVE HER VOICE AND I REALLY LOVE THIS CHOIR

  • @Ministerdlyne Yes this is the same lady

  • So, the live recording with Rev. James Moore did not count as an album; It was just a special. The fourth album, "I'll See You At The Rapture", was recorded at J.S.U., and the next three "Emmanuel", "Amazing Love", and "Not By Strength, Nor By Power" were all recorded at Thalia Mara Hall (f.k.a. Jackson Municipal Auditorium) their original place for recording. Well, I didn't know what the place was because the backwall was usually black in color

  • This recording was done at the Mississippi Coliseum. If you look in the audience, it was packed that night. I believe they move it because so many people show up at the 1st recording, and it look like it wasn't enough room. But I believe recording at the Coliseum was diffcult so they move back to the original place. If you listen to the album God Gets The Glory sounds different from the other ones.

  • And if you look at the stage, between the microphone equipment and the choir, the spacing was too narrow; and the band members appeared to be cluttered up to each other.

  • it does! as a kid i use to say that too it was my least fav until i got the vhs collection of early mmc material and this and it remains to be seen is the best production and lyric wise and venora brown!!! wheew u go girl

  • when did they record this?

  • I believe this was in 1991 when they recorded this album.

  • Actually, this recording took place on Saturday, December 8, 1990 at the Mississippi State Coliseum in Jackson, MS. The actual album was released the following year.

  • Oh. You say this was at the Mississippi State Coliseum. So, this wasn't the same place were they recorded the first or third albums. Wasn't it?

  • No. The first and third albums were recorded at the Jackson Municipal Auditorium in Jackson, MS, long before it was renamed Thalia Mara Hall in the late nineties.

  • And after the third album, they began recording their next two albums at Jackson State University. So where are they recording now?

  • Not exactly. The fourth album, which was recorded after Frank Williams passed, was recorded at Jackson State, while the fifth, sixth, and seventh albums were recorded at Thalia Mara Hall. Their eighth album, which is their first Christmas album, was recorded Friday, June 29, 2007 at the Word and Worship Church in Jackson, MS. I haven't the faintest clue where they're recording now.

  • Next recording is scheculed for sometime in May im in the choir we dont know the right date yet but its in May and the place hasnt been told either

  • That is awesome. Please keep us informed, thanks again. I know its going to be awesome no matter when or where.

  • i heard there recording a new cd at the first baptist church in jackson Ms june 19th at 7pm free recording seats 3000 people so get there early and vernor is back i hope she does i new song

  • yes! venora brown will be singing in this years recording. i've been attending most of the rehersals.

  • will Mama Burks and Angela Curry Be singing in the choir this time

  • i went to the recording it was off the chain

  • they recoded at first baptist church june 19th. i was there. i should be out in sep.

called behold i will do a new thing X1 9

  • How was the recording? What should we expect?

  • i was my first MMC recording but diffrent

itwas good but it felt more like a concert then a live recording. they''ve changed a lil bit. have did a lot of back to back handclapping and churchy songs. they hardly do that. ecspecialy that many in one recording. BUt they also went contemparary 2. which i love but did not ecpected MMC to go there. i did not really like venora browns news song called we remeber. i mean its a nice song but not like her others. but all in all its a great album.

  • cant wait to see it. i think they need to work harder on songs for next time tho. ill give the album and 8 out of 10

  • Beautiful song; she has a beautiful voice too. Awesome song; praise God.

  • sing venora i love this song two

    sing baby

  • The lead vocalist seen here is Venora Brown.

  • thanks, i didn't know her name. she sounds wonderful. i love this song. its a song of consecration. i'd love to hear it redone again. Darius Brooks knows he can write.

  • She does have a beautiful voice. By the way, is she still a member of the Mississippi Mass Choir?

  • No she is no longer with Miss Mass. I'm not sure what she's doing now. Hopefully someone who knows her will see this.

  • Hmm... Well, I am sure she's doing something new in her life. We'll just have to wait and see what it is.
