ok, hammered dulcimer and harp is the best instruments duo ever.

may I ask one thing, does dulcimer's string get out of tune as easily as guitar's one?

I used to play 12 string guitar and the hammered dulcimer is even harder to keep in tune. There is much more tension on the box of the instrument since there are so many strings. Temperature and humidity changes put it out of tune quickly. Therefore you have to spend a lot of time keeping it in tune! That's the hardest thing about playing this instrument.

The hammered dulcimer. This one was made by Jerry Read Smith in Asheville, NC. It is an instrument with very ancient origins, in the family of the zither. It shows up around the world in various forms. This is the version of the dulcimer used in the US and for Celtic music. They think it originated in Persia/Iran, some say India. It has a very distinctive sound because of the long sustained ring to each note that is hit.
