why does this sound... 'processed'? every hit sounds the same, and its just too clean..... is he just this good or was there some post production manipulation going on here? cuz to me it sounds like the drums were sampled and then taken into fruity loops or something and compiled that way.....

@presbarkeep they most likely use triggers. almost every band uses them to some extent. It makes the recording process much smoother, and results in a better product. Most bands would be crazy to not use snare and kick drum triggers.

@presbarkeep Juice likely used "sound replacer" plugin with ProTools to get an Ideal kick/snare sound. There are still dynamics and imperfections; its definitely a live drummer and not a MIDI compilation. Also, The kit is compressed to shit and the Kick and snare are taken way out front in the drum track. It sits better in the overall mix but sounds unnatural when solo'ed.
