  • I disliked and added to my faves at the same time. I think KWS overwhelmed. KWS is great, but so is RR, and KWS thrived to takeover this clip. Just my thoughts.

  • WHOS SINGIN LOL.... THINK KENNY NEVER GETS ENOUGH CREDIT HES BEEN AROUND FOR SOO LONG

  • WHOS SINGIN? OBV NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO MENTION? IDK...

  • That looked like a lot of fun.

  • lame

  • How do you make a strat squeal like at 5:08?

  • As a guitar player, I can tell you, Kenny is a monster. I remember when SRV was dismissed as a lick stealer too....yes it was something the critics complained of. Now, SRV is revered.. and rightly so.

  • It's so cool when killer blues players get a on a real psychedelic rock song and just tear it apart. There is nothing better...

  • what the fuck? .... I wish any one of these would try my ..........Matt Marshall

  • I honestly cant wait for Joe Satriani to hit the stage with these guys. We'll see a true hendrix player cover all the material PROPERLY. Loud, Proud, and friggin brilliant.

  • Kenny sucks. I have zero respect for him.. what's he brought to the table thats new? There can only be ONE SRV ! robert randolph burns kenny off the stage! John Mayer and Jonny Lang kill this guy. But the man we should mention.. Mr. Joe Bonamassa, kills Shepherd ! He's the BEST. Robert (MR AWESOME) Randolph rocks the fucking shit out of this!

  • kenny is guitar player ,on his way up

u sound like a fagot red neck friendly anoucer

  • I developed respect for Kenney Wayne Sheperd AFTER seeing the experience Hendrix show. Besides its not a fucking contest, but if it was my vote goes to Johhny Winter, someone who can be compared to Hendrix side by side, not the next generation trying to mimick.

  • @Outlawjeepcrew I became a convert last saturday night in AC !

  • im glad whoever made this cut out all the vocals. kennys singer is such a tool.

  • your welcome. he was seriously way too distracting

  • Take that John Mayer! These two should have been on the cover of rolling stone with Derek Trucks

  • it's child not chile!

  • Actually, it is originally "Chile".

  • the studio version was titled Voodoo Child (slight return), the jam version at woodstock and on the box set of experience hendrix are titled Voodoo Chile (Slight Return). Voodoo Chile is the title of an entirely different song on Hendrix's Blues album. Completely different song. Now that that's cleared up, cover versions have been titled all of those because of the common misunderstanding about the name. Its okay guys, relax and enjoy one of the greatest songs ever

  • THE man

  • sounds like SRV

  • yeah especially the tone of the guitars, and then also the part starting at 4:40 sounds just lke the ending to SRV's where he sort of goes nuts with feedback and improv.

  • I saw them at DAR Constitution Hall in DC, was too stoned to remember anything but this, they cranked the volume and played it at the end with what seemed like a good 2 minutes of the signature wah-wah riff at the beginning and another 5 minutes at the end.

Best concert I've ever been to, thanks for bringing back the memory.

  • Who is on the pedal steel?

  • Robert Randolph...hands down the best pedal steel player around! If you haven't seen him live, GO! You will not be disappointed.

  • @willhorne76 seeing him tonight dude!

  • cut and paste i don't like this one

  • i think robert randolph brings something new.

  • Certainly KWS can play, but I wish he would play like, I dunno, HIMSELF! He's a Stevie Ray Wannabe. Everything he plays is regurgitated SRV licks(but not quite as fresh or exciting as the original). He's still a good player though.

  • I was referring more to the large number of covers that he did that were Hendrix songs first... doesn't really matter though everyone has done their thing and regardless of what you might say are pretty damn good at what they have done or did in their lifetime

  • Dude, I jammed with SRV in Peoria one night, and with Albert another night at Duff's Roof Top, where Bernard Allison, some members of Koko Taylor's band, and I were the house band. SRV totally admitted that he was inspired and mentored by Albert King. Albert said the same and, in fact, they did an album together back in '83. Saw Robert Randolph at the first Crossroads festival in Dallas in''94. Totally hot. Saw KWS at Doheny Blues Fest, and he indeed tries to recycle SRV.

  • I never said anything about who SRV's influences were so don't do the whole "dude I was there" bit to me... did I ever say once that he ever said he was influenced by Jimi Hendrix? no I didn't I said a lot of songs that SRV did were in fact Hendrix songs... which is a true statement he did cover a lot of hendrix songs. SRV was a great artist as was Jimi. KWS is a good artist too regardless of thinking he is recycled SRV.

  • All of them recycled songs from Robert Johnson, Son House and Elmore James. True legends of the blues. You think Clapton wrote Crossroads, or SRV or Hendrix wrote The Sky Is Crying? How about Dust My Broom or Sweet Home Chicago? Back not to the 60's, but to the 30's.

  • The regurgitated hendrix was still played as SRV himself would play it. guitboy63 was commenting on the way KWS played not what he played. dogheadj has the right angle here as to comment on the style of play, whether or not he is correct in his comparison of SRV and King.

  • A great jam. I personally am not impressed with KWS at all. He is just a SRV wannabe and a copycat, etc.... Nothing special. I like much more what Robert is doing, Now that is some serious guitar palying. He was also influenced a lot by SRV (which is obvious), but I like how he plays it wtih his own style and way. Amazing.

  • I can agree with you completely. KWS is having fun so I can't get down on him. But Robert Randolph brings a whole new flavor. Winner by knockout. out of New Jersey. Robert Randolph

  • @IntuitiveMediums Yep, both men can fire up the strings. It's a wonder they don't need asbestos gloves.

  • saw it last night in Detroit...damn this guy can play some guitar.

  • yea i saw them in phily on thursday/ He kills it. Stay tuned imgonna pos 3 videos from thursdays performance

  • Hmm sounds more like SRV than JIMI

  • Robert Randolph can play some serious stuff off that pedal

  • Damn man, I could never even imagine you can make pedal steel guitar sound this crazy! Great stuff! :)

  • Isn't it crazy what u can pull out something so little. Robert defienatly has his own style great

  • ha i was there, kws droped his guitar at the end by accedent

  • Good Lord! Learn to spell!

  • haha wow that looked like it got pretty intense
