i'm a joiner to trade so i just built what i saw, then started experimenting with trying to tune it. 6 months and many top pieces later i had a rough idea how to tune it and as you heard it was rough.i'll build a proper one when i have time i was shown a book that shows how to build and tune them called Musical Instrument Design By Bart Hopkin now i have seen the book i should be able to build it better
I think the tone is pretty damn good in this one--you've got it pretty close to ideal.
What type of wood is the top? And the sides? And do you have it clamped up so you can have access to the underside of the top to tune? What are the dimensions? (Can you tell I'm wanting to build one?)
You're beautiful. I could watch you bang that drum all day.
