  • I never had any desire to hear this group. Just not my thing, I thought.

Then I heard that they worked with Robert Fripp, and I realized that there was probably something different about them, so I listened.

    I fell in love.

So sorry that I waited so long to check them out.

Thank you, Maggie, Terre, and Suzzy for everything that you give of yourselves and making my life (and so many other lives) so much richer!

  • My sisters and I sound JUST like this when we sing this song.....

  • Vin Scelsa! I've been away too long. Remember the 'Butch and the Brick'? WNEW was the absolute best Radio Station EVER IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD!

  • love it love it love it...have since I saw them in the eighties:)

  • Me too!!!

  • @cloudymoor - so funny, same thing happened to me, but it was Dave Herman on WNEW! I was just about 19 guy in NJ, listening to all sorts of rock and fusion jazz, and this hooked me. Chased them and the music around for a long time...they play in NJ still sometimes. Still beautiful voices.

  • Love this song...thanks for posting

  • Thank U you, beautiful souls! What harmony! What words!

  • @perruci1 I think the zabman23 said that because there is a vid here called "Death of Suzzy Roche - McCarter 4 - 14 - 90, but thats just a considered guess.

  • @TheIrishtaffy my friend said he read it somewhere, i guess he could be wrong.

  • @TheIrishtaffy --there's a song they wrote called The Death of Suzzy Roche ... it's just a funny song; Suzzy's alive and well!

  • RIP Suzzy

  • @zabman23

as far as i know Suzzy is alive and well. what u talkin about?

  • @perrucci1 my friend said he read it somewhere, i guess he could be wrong.

  • @zabman23 Suzzy's not dead. "Death of Suzzy Roche" is a song.

  • The line "Give me a broom and I'll sweap my way to heaven" keeps me grinning for 30 years now.

  • lucky to hear them together with Ivor Cutler years ago ,they`re just as refreshing now ! Thanks. Jonboy

  • I've had the great privilege of seeing them live on 3 occasions, back in the late 80's. They made me cry every time, the harmony of their voices was so very beautiful.

  • This is music as it used to be-this ain't designer pop or whatever people buy now.

Their version of Sleigh Bells is the business

  • ...Is Suzy singing? I thought Terre sang it on the original recording.

  • Been listening to the Roches live for 30 years (and records and CDs of course)......they are so talented.

Fun to watch, fantastic to listen to. Go Roches.

  • First Roches song I ever had the pleasure to hear. Vin Scelsa played it on his Saturday morning show on WNEW-FM and I've been hooked ever since!

  • The Roche Sisters are just "awesome" (oops sorry about the last century adjective).

    Thank you for posting.

  • bought this in glagow about 1980,have been a life long fan ever since, beautiful lyrics and amazing vocals even live thank you for posting this friend.

  • I love the roches!

  • Utterly, utterly fabulous.

Still wonderful after all these years...

  • I still remember the words!!! LOVE them!!!!

  • 1st album was produced by master musician Robert Fripp. 'nuff said.

  • Dixie Chicks? Are you kidding? The Roches are true masters.

  • From their spectacular first LP, thanks for posting. They are an unjustly neglected treasure.

  • Unjust? I don't know why, I love them, seen them 13 times, told everyone I know about them, and almost no one ever likes them. ???? Why ???? I don't get it, but hey, part of the appeal to me (aside from the incredible songs, performaces, and everything about them) is the fact that its such a cult following. If they turned out to be real popular, I might not enjoy them as much!

  • Dixie chicks dont know what harmony is

    roches rule

  • june 1998, Edinburgh, me waiting tables, always run out from money, discovered this trio from Billy Boyd.

    great memories of that period

  • timeless

  • Oh YEEEESSSS! I like them better than

    the Dixie Chicks! ~Peace

  • The Roches are harmonic goddesses. They so deserve to be famous.

  • i play this song in my restaraunt/bar gigs...waitresses love it ! i love it too ..
