I love the M&P series of pistols, I want the M&P 9 and .45 to be part of my collection. However on the .45 do they make higher capacity magazines for it? It would be nice to have a 12 round magazine. I know for the M&P 9 they sell magazine extensions so you can increase the capacity of the magazine a few rounds.
@Gunblastdotcom They do make an extended mag. it holds 14 rounds. I like it. It makes the weapon feel very balanced and you have that bit extra to get a lower grip with your free hand, helps to control kick up.
@bigdude90 You must be 21 or older to buy a hand gun from a licensed dealer. In most states you need to be 18 to possess a hand gun without parental supervision or to purchase a hand gun from an unlicensed individual. In any case it is a felony to sell a modern firearm to anyone that the seller KNOWS to be ineligible to possess such.
All the Pedersen mags used to rag on S&W autos when I was a kid. they were the equivalent of Chrysler K cars. I have no personal experience with them.
@regusted From what I've heard, a lot of the other S&W autos were nothing to write home about. It sure seems they've hit a home run with the M&P though.
Another good video. I appreciate it. Any problems loading the 14 round clip? My clip is new and spring seems a little tough to press 14 rounds into. Guess it will loosen up with use.
@10mmTroy negative 10mm troy. i have worked with the seals when i was a sniper they used the sig 9mm. the green berets(sf) used the berretta 92fs 9mm. delta force used what ever they wanted. the marines force recon used the kimber tactical 45 acp
You said the USN SEALs didn't use 9mm pistols, that instead they used .45. I found proof that showed you were wrong. You don't deny that, but you also don't have any courage to admit you were wrong.
Oh, about Navy SEAL's. I suppose, they use the Sig P226 which is a very nice gun. Their about the only branches the uses them though. A bit blocky and the barrel axis is too high for me.
Its too small and over penetrates. The 9mm is a small bullet and damages a small amount of tissue. Its like stabbing someone with an icepick, you'll kill them but you won't render them combat ineffective, they'll still com at you. The Special forces of the US use's 1911 Models .45's
You sir, have not seen the ballistic comparison. The mozamique drill is hard to do under a stressful situation. There has been many cases where the 9mm has been quite ineffective at stopping a person. Unless you get a head shot, a 9mm is quite useless. A heart shot will kill you but the target will remain alive and able to fight. By the logic in the video you linked a .22 would better a 9mm due to capacity. The 9mm being small delivers less energy then a larger massed bullet. Physics

Nice gun but I would recomend the colt 1911 over it. Also, if you are into revolvers, you should try the Taurus .45/.410 Judge. It is a very nice gun and is good for self defence.
Hi gunblast, the vidio's r great. Buying the M&P 45 next week, I wanted to know what you thought about the AR-10's(762)Armalite not dps.
I have heard there were prob's with that round in this weapon and that the 30 round clips were unreliable and jam up. Is this true? Have you heard anything about that? thanx.........
hi sir... can you please help me... im buying my first gun.. suppose to be.. i will buy 1911 colt 45 series 80.. but my friends wonth let me coz it is a old style gun.. so now.. im planning to buy smith and wesson m&p caliber 45... just want to ask you sir if its a good choice? or in your side.. what do you think will be the right gun a biginner like me? first timer in gun world.. please reply.. really need your help... God bless (:
Don't let your friends decide what is right for you! A 1911 pistol will serve you well, just as it has served millions well for almost 100 years. In fact, the 1911 is my favorite pistol.
Of all the modern pistol designs, in my opinion the M&P is the finest - it is accurate, reliable and powerful, and the ability to fit the grip to your hand is a great feature.
As a beginning shooter, you need to try the different pistols to see what is right for you.

No, the action is similar to that of a Glock. The weapon is pre-cocked, and a smooth trigger pull is all it takes to fire.

gearbox011 2 years ago
I don't understand why thy use it too. The sig rusts a lot and they use an inferior round.
gearbox011 2 years ago
if you watched the video, you would understand better - you would also see how you were DEAD WRONG about the SEALs disuse of 9mm.
LLCoolPass 2 years ago
Sure I admit I'm wrong about the SEAL's using 9mm. Doesn't change the fact that its and inferior round.
gearbox011 2 years ago
No - it's only a fact that your opinion is 9mm is inferior for military purposes.

SEALs like 9mm pistols.

why don't you believe me?

Because balistically, the 9mm is inferior.

You should probably start with a smaller caliber and move up, like a 9mm or maybe a .40.
