  • i can't render. it says particles will not be included in ipr render. plz help me.

  • @halo199393 Make sure that you are using Maya Hardware Renderer. Or what you can do is that you can make nParticles instead of standard particles. I hope that helps you.

  • muchas gracias

  • nyc 1

  • its easy 2 learn n it gives an osm effects.... tnx.....

  • NIce tutorial simple and yet powerfull.

  • THIS SUCKS!!!! .....I no have Maya.....What good is this for me if I no have thing made for smart people with no lives who play dungeons and dragons and sing "Swing Lo Sweet Charriot" in thier spare time......I mean....Woof......

  • nice vid it helped me make my own tornado thanks

  • thnx a lot this helped mee a lot

    thnx

  • I cant use the gravity...it says "// Error: No object matches name: "

    HELP Please

  • in the end when you made it curve.....when i tried to do this it didnt make too much of a difference...is there any other way to do this?

thank you by the way awesome video

  • @mszombie1000 It doesn't curve because when you move the emitters to the side, you probably move the vortex field with them. Do not move the vortex field with the particle emitters. The vortex field must stay in the middle of the grid.

  • @mszombie1000 thanks!...

  • oh by the way..... is there any way to make it form from the top going down?

  • @mszombie1000 Possibly lots of ways but most direct would be + gravity instead of -, right?

  • thank you !!

  • please help me,when i try to change the gravity to -30 i get "//Error : No Object Matches Name: "and so my objects are not going up and scattering in different directions and same error is for the vortex.

  • @anmol2194 Make sure that you have the particles selected before you add the gravity. If it still doesn't work, try exiting Maya and going back in. If you still have trouble, let me know.

  • @Wikus2009 i am still having the same error

  • @Wikus2009 I had the same problem and it did not work for me

  • @anmol2194 Hey I found a solution to your problem:

Ok if you open your outliner (window > outliner) and select ONLY the things that say PARTICLE, leaving out the things that say EMITTER. Once you have done that continue with the steps to add a gravity field.

    Hope it helps!!

  • @Meager1414 Thanks a lot man that really helped. Thanks for the upload to Wikus.

  • can you change the color to red anyway

  • wowo awesome ill use in my job thx a lot=D

  • What you can do to make the tornado smaller is to play around with the particle lifespan. Decreasing the amount from 2.6 to something like 1, that would make the tornado to look smaller. You can also play around with the particle speed to make the tornado appear slower or faster. I hope this info helps you.

  • What do you need to do to scale it down? I tried the basic scale tool but that didn't work.

  • Awesome dude! Thanks..I was having trouble creating a base for my tornado. You helped me a lot with this!!

  • In the particleShape tab in the Attribute Editor, you can set the render type to be clouds.

  • great bu how do i get it to look like smoke or clouds

  • awesome thanks

  • Nice

  • awesome!

    thankyou so much :D

  • nice one simple and workin

  • Hi brother... everything looks fine except for one thing... in reality the tornado starts in the sky and then touches the ground... I in fact have a question... Can we do something so that the particles follow the same path but originate in the sky and not on the ground? Like not ascending but descending? And can you put some tutorial for 3Ds Max?

  • thnx for the tutorial it was very helpful!!

  • Migeto, make sure you have the particles selected when you add the gravity. If that doesn't work, try exiting Maya and fire it up again. Maybe that should solve your problem.

  • I'm getting an error when trying to add gravity, it says "no object matches name"

  • @migeto Do NOT select the points emitting the particles. Just select the particles themselves.

  • There is a way to do it. But sadly I'm not much of a texturer. There is a tutorial in the Maya tutorials (Help > Tutorials) that shows you how to make the particles do a ramp shader effect as they move. It's in the Dynamics section.

  • can you add textures on particles

  • superb

  • better 2 use fluids or sprites

  • great tutorial........i learnt alot from it...thanx very much..plz add new tutorials regarding dynamics n all....can make a tutorial of twister in ocean it wud be great...

  • THANKS!!!!!! Now i can see the Tornado.

  • Kobold807, what you can do is change the Particle Render Type to clouds and then click the "lambert1" tab in the attribute editor and from there you can change the color of the particles. If you want to keep the particle type to MultiStreak, I'd suggest you use Maya Hardware renderer then. Hope that helps you.

  • How can i add a color to the particles so that i can see them after rendering??

  • Great!!!
