Yep! If we had a sponorship deal with them, one might say it was subtle advertising! (Birds Eye, if you're reading this, we're desperate for cash and will give the van more appearances...hint hint!!!)
In the test episodes made, and test shots, Sir Ralph had a round face. some of these shots became stock footage for the series, however we changed the shape of Sir Ralph's face just before the first episode aired to make him seem more streamlined. His old face has been modified and used on lots of different engines now!!!
Something elso I forgot to mention, I really like the educational element, the fact that it's based on reality, suppose that applies to the name! Also helps to set you apart and establish your own style, one of which is unique, keep it up.
I like it, I noticed the parrelels with "Pop Goes The Diesel" and "Break Van" A good use of fading transitions at the start too, are you including music and ambient SFX? Would make it even better :)
When we do the "Episode 1.1" and "Episode 2.1", etc, the music for each engine (currently being composed) will be added. Ambient SFX definitely need to be added, but we're putting the stories out first. Did you see the really minute animations on Allen and Herbert?
At the moment he's a bit of a mixed bag. We have had him running, but he's so erratic, we don't really know whether we'll get him running for reshooting. If we need any voice actors in the GWG (Great Western Glory) series, we'll put out an advertisement on here. Thanks for the offer, we may take you up on it.
He can now, yes! Took me ages to resolder the contacts, and get him run in. Sir Ralph isn't just a pest on-screen, you know...although he is a wonderful runner on the set.
I luv your british railway series wanna be freinds?

At the very least, the midland engine from episode 6, George, and Scott have all used it.
AstroDroidR4O2 3 years ago
Yes, thats true. In fact I'm pretty sure there's one more (try looking at the start of episode 7 and findind which one it is!)

At 02.57, I spotted Annie and Clarebel in Allen's goods train. :)

Euh...you can't have done. We don't own either annie or clarabel...sorry, but we do have some 6-wheeled vans in the van train.

Which movie editing software do you use and what was the theme in the beginning?
trainmaster844 4 years ago 2
A combination of NERO and Microsoft movie maker, the theme, slightly appropriate, is "Rule Brittania".

I'm stupidly analytical by nature, unfortunately for me, or fortunate whicheverway you look at it! Drop us a PM, hows progress? Can I help?

Pop goes the diesel reference..at 03:00 the atmos is similer, and at the very end and next ep where they try to get rid of the new engine
sparkshot 4 years ago
That's very astute, sparkshot - that was definitely unintentional, but I see what you mean

Cheers Sparshot, I (and by that I mean we) appreciate that. That was part of the spec for the series.
Out of interest, "Brakevan" we definitely alluded to, but "Pop goes the Diesel"? Explain please, it wasn't intentional if we did!!! (lol)

Does Sir Ralph run at all or is he a static character? Also, can I be a voice actor?

Also, has anyone noticed our "deliberate" (cough, cough, jason's fault, cough, cough) mistake with regards to Sir Ralph?

He can definetly run.

I now know Sir Ralph's origin! He was named after the brother engine "Sir Ralph Wedgewood", who was bombed in World War II.
trainmaster844 4 years ago
Correct! This'll be the subject of an episode, namely episode 9.
simierski 4 years ago
Would you believe, it was the subject of episode 9, now released? Lol
