  • I realized the same thing when I used Vista 32bit for the first time. File exploration was noticeably sluggish and the UI in general updated very slow. I hope Windows 8 become direct2d, that is the entire UI hardware accelerated, like macos x snow leopard and the iphone/ipad.

  • @darkultra maybe someone with compassion within the microsoft development team to implement a complete change in UI with service pack 1 for windows 7. please! need 100% of hardware acceleration for 100% of the interface windows 7.If the final version of Windows 8 will not bring integrated this feature, if you can arrange a bomb attack at the headquarters of microsoft? XD

  • Simple it is to compare.

WinXP use GDI+ and windows 7 use partial GDI+ not Direct 2D because most of programs like file explorer use partial GDI rather than direct 2d which incease the cpu utilization more than winxp.

Microsoft seriously need to replace file explorer and other basic programs based on Direct 2D in their first service pack for windows 7. Seriously... needed ROFL

Until than GDI rules not in win 7.

Its not an issue related to GPU drivers.
