@nicholascball81119 i thought it wasnt a basking shark too but it is. The shark that you see b4 it is a chimera shark which can grow up to 4ft in length and can go 8,000 ft deep then you see the basking shark that can grow up to 20-26 ft long and 3 ft wide and can go a little over 3,000 ft deep, some that have been caught were measured at 40-45 ft long but thats a rare size.
@nicholascball81119 whoops im a dumb dumb, this is a Pacific sleeper shark the gills and mouth are too small to be a basking but they do grow to 20-26. Heres the original video to get a better view.watch?v=9kVLXvDsDtQ

Nobody will ever see a live Megalodon, they have been extinct for millions of years. Threre is no chance that there might be a few swimming around somewhere in the deepest parts of the ocean.
@SpiderShaman3323 is that why they are discovering hundreds of new species of fish every day, the sea is the most unexplored place in the the world so how do u know for certain that the megalodon dosen't exist
@sammo2510 Because the average lifespan for an entire species is about 100 million years, Megalodon lived several hundered million years ago. Also the number of sharks needed to sustain a population for an animal that size is large enough that at least a few of them would have been sighted. You would not find one reputable marine scientist that thinks that there is even the smallest chance of Megalodon still being alive.
@SpiderShaman3323 if thats the case how come we only got 1st pictures a few years ago proving that there are giant squid up too 62ft long, that has been a fishermans tales for many years, just because we havent seen it doesnt mean it any out there
@sammo2510 We knew giant squid existed before we got pictures of them because we would find dead ones in the stomaches of some whales and the corpses of giant squid would occasionally be found by fishing boats. We also saw wounds and scars on some whales indicative of a fight with some kind of giant tentacled creature.
High I'm a marine biologist, and i would most likely say that is a 6 gill shark, closer related to a greenland shark, but have a more cosmopolitan deep sea distribution. They are known to feed on whale falls
Its a type of six gill. you can tell by the nose that it is in the mackerel shark of sorts. by the fins it obviously spends most of it time in deep water which actually eliminates salmon shark. if you pause it it has six gills. it is more than likely to be something prehistoric and not known to us, but it is too small for a megalodon
green;and or mega-mouth. Meglodon is believed to be a ancestor or great white sharks and therefore would have a body plan at .least slightly resembling it...

@killerslayer543 Look at the head and yes that is a greenland, those other fish are maybe 3 -4 feet long. greenlands can get upward or 15 feet long and longer
Looks big, but then again most things look big to the Japanese.
On a side note I am one of those Fox Mulder, I want to believe, type of people but so often things have logical explanations. We also tend to jump to certain because I think it makes rather mundane life exciting

@Horsefanatic2313 Greenland's have been seen in all kinds of different waters, from arctic to Asian, also i believe in south American islands and Europe.
I'm 99.9% sure that's just a Greenland Shark. Thought of more of a bottom feeder, and a scavenger than a predator, but has been seen as a very aggressive and intelligent predators as well.
@sallyandclay1 1.That doesn't look like any greenland shark I've seen. 2.My question is what would a shark native to the waters around Greenland and Iceland be doing all the way over in the Mariana Trench?
@Horsefanatic2313 just because the name of it is Greenland doesn't mean that it stays there. they have been spotted all the way to Alaska and as far away as Japan. all sharks travel.
@sallyandclay1 But it tends to stay north in the cool water. The water above(I mean the surface) the Mariana Trench usually is fairly warm ...A sleeper shark would be more likely because they are found in that region, but it still didn't look like that thing.Oh well, the sea is full of mysteries
I'll admit it's a large creature but what makes people think it's Megalodon?? As many have already said, we know far less about the ocean than the surface of the moon. Also lets not forget the phenomena of deep sea gigantism so that could just be a really big six gilled shark, or some other species that we haven't documented.
is that a '6 gill' shark? -pretty sure they've been filmed by the BBC (could be the bait and first sharks are real small... a 12 foot '6-gill' would look massive in comparison..?)
@dantedouche- i said it isnt magalodon, and was obvious to anyone with brain that its same exact species as first ones in video just aphenomanaly larger specimen. you can stalk me all you want, wont make your lies and idiocy true. dumbass
wow, first thats really cool, 2- its no megaladon its same kind the smaller ones you saw were same exact species, its just thats the biggest one youll ever see thats all if it was itd be more like white shark body headcolor etc etc that was just same one as the ones in beginning of the vid just much much bigger. man id like catch that sob and get good look at it!
Buddy you are all over youtube posting about subjects you don't understand. It's a greenland shark, not the dogfish you saw at the beginning of the video. I'm going to go see what other videos you've BS'ed on.
@kkage2 hahaha me swim that far. grown ups do with a lot of guts and most of them dont come back. and i live off the coast of guam, but youtube didnt have the name of the island so i had to put guam.
@Footphobics01 uhh, what island is off the coast of guam? i know a lot about geography, and as far as i know, there are only four islands near guam, songsong and northern marina islands, all of which are farther away from marianas trench than guam....
ha-ha cant you see the bait is sized down a notch and the other seven gill has come in and they have made it larger and if this were a real megalodon it would have swallowed the whole thing this would have been a big thing on TV not on youtube
correct my mistakes thanks not rude comments back as i see this as a fake allthough i do beleive that the megalodon is still out there
Finally a real footage of this beast

is that a '6 gill' shark? -pretty sure they've been filmed by the BBC (could be the bait and first sharks are real small... a 12 foot '6-gill' would look massive in comparison..?)

@dantedouche- i said it isnt magalodon, and was obvious to anyone with brain that its same exact species as first ones in video just aphenomanaly larger specimen. you can stalk me all you want, wont make your lies and idiocy true. dumbass
billybob42081 4 months ago
wow, first thats really cool, 2- its no megaladon its same kind the smaller ones you saw were same exact species, its just thats the biggest one youll ever see thats all if it was itd be more like white shark body headcolor etc etc that was just same one as the ones in beginning of the vid just much much bigger. man id like catch that sob and get good look at it!

@billybob42081
Buddy you are all over youtube posting about subjects you don't understand. It's a greenland shark, not the dogfish you saw at the beginning of the video. I'm going to go see what other videos you've BS'ed on.

im writing this comment before watching and i hope this is fake because i live on a tiny island where you can swim out to the marianas trench :(
Footphobics01 4 months ago
@Footphobics01 the marianas trench is like 30km off guam.. you telling me you can swim that far?
kkage2 4 months ago
@kkage2 hahaha me swim that far. grown ups do with a lot of guts and most of them dont come back. and i live off the coast of guam, but youtube didnt have the name of the island so i had to put guam.
Footphobics01 4 months ago
@Footphobics01 uhh, what island is off the coast of guam? i know a lot about geography, and as far as i know, there are only four islands near guam, songsong and northern marina islands, all of which are farther away from marianas trench than guam....
either you are mentally handicaped,
or you're a troll...
kkage2 4 months ago
@Footphobics01: yes but you can swim down 7 miles to the bottom of the trench?
D3cyTH3r 4 months ago
@D3cyTH3r no but probably people dive (not all the way down) and the shark might come up close to the surface once in a while

ha-ha cant you see the bait is sized down a notch and the other seven gill has come in and they have made it larger and if this were a real megalodon it would have swallowed the whole thing this would have been a big thing on TV not on youtube
correct my mistakes thanks not rude comments back as i see this as a fake allthough i do beleive that the megalodon is still out there
birdguy121 4 months ago
if that is real, we should try to capture one and put it in an aquarium so then activist can release it so it can terrorize the coast...
oh wait thats a book, whatever it is, if its real, i'm stoked that its out there.
