I was looking at a mitsubishi eclipse the other day (1993). The only thiing i didn't like about it was how it had a short shifter. I like a nice loose gear shift. So my question is...can a mechanic take a short shifter out and lengthen the "H" that the gear shift sits on, and install a regular shifter? or will that be impossible and/or way too much money. And if you have a price in mind...say what you think.

I know you can import them from japan. The car is very expensive and to ship them over is prob same of more to do it. And to get them to pass emissions is almost impossible in the US. Unless you lived in certain parts where your car doesnt have to pass. There was a place called Tonapah, AZ where you don't have to pass but there is nothing but poor people out there. lol
