  • what would it take to make this engine handle different fuels? I assume the engine itself can handle the bio fuels or others? just not the injectors or fuel pump? am i correct on this? I wonder if there was a way to make this engine run on other fuels?

  • Is it possible to make these 6.4 engines reliable over the long term? If so what would you have to do to the engine to get that reliability and how many miles will they most likely last for? Thanks.

  • Are the 6.4's reliable after DPF Delete, EGR Delete, and Head Studs?

  • @SparkZ1420 Yep that is the trick. It will need tuning also for it to run right,

  • with a dpf delete +tune is bio fuel ok?

  • @rmt1 No not with the 6.4. The fuel system will not handle it

  • @powerstrokehelp

    Thanks your videos are great!

  • @powerstrokehelp only if dirty fuel. This is an absolute misconception.Maybe the biosiesel, but i have got friends and family with 6.4's and a combined 2,000,000 plus miles on (CLEAN) dyed diesel fuel with not one issue.Actually the guys filling with ultralow in town are the only ones having any issues. The problem is lubricity,or lack thereof with ultralow. The 7.3,s really dont like it.Same with out heavy rig engines(ONLY ADDITIVE WE RUN WITH GREAT LUCK IS TRANSMISSION FUID)

  • @powerstrokehelp depends on the level of BIO ....you can run B5 with a tuner(or stock) and be fine but you have to change out the filters more often.

  • Thank you for the great videos and information. I have a 2008 6.4 and it is great hear someone speaking knowledge about the powerstroke. I would like to know what oil you recommend for this engine. I plan to put the delete kit on my truck soon. Any advice? Keep the videos coming! Want you to know that I smoked a duramax today with a full load of wood in the bed.

  • Glad to find someone online who is able to share valid and reliable information about the POWERSTOKE. Thank you!

  • Thankyou Bill! Keep the videos coming. I own an 08' 6.4 and have been considering putting a delete kit on it. You havebeen a big help. Thankyou for the information you have shared! Keep the videos and info coming.

  • @jblpipeman The spartan system seems to be the best. Great power, better fuel economy truck runs cooler. Cobb's diesel is the source we use.

  • Sir, your videos are excellent. Would you care to share your initial thoughts on the new 6.7? Thanks much for this fine series of videos.

  • i dont even own a truck but your videos are awesome. ive watched almost all of em

  • Question: Will the EGR Valve cause the 6.4 to stall right after it has been started, Then try to start it again and it runs fine?

  • @ThundareRed Probably not EGR causing that problem. More than likely a weak fuel pump, incorrect fuel filter or a sticking fuel control valve on the fuel pump. Egr becomes an issue when you ask for power and the boost gets bled back through the exhaust system.

  • @powerstrokehelp Well it seems it have stopped for now, Kinda sounds like it might be that FCV you were talking about. Would an additive help fix that problem?

  • @ThundareRed Stanadyne cant hurt.

  • are you saying running high sulfur fuel in the 6.4 is bad? I've been using it in my truck and have not had any problems yet. What do you think? Should i stop using it?

  • @mb89mb It runs great in the 6.4 it just will fill up your DPF quicker and make it REGEN sooner, which has a negative effect on engine life. If you remove the DPF and go to Spartan tuning or tuning from Jody at dp-tuner this will cease to be a problem. It is the same sort of problem with Catalytic converters and unleaded fuel in the 70s.

  • Diesels are so much cleaner the gas engines. Idk y the diesel engines are getting hit with all these stupid pollution bullshit laws

  • @matthewholz It is all about reducing particulates and nitrogen oxides in urban environments,

  • @dragracer3 I AGREE!!!

  • all the emissions stuff is garbage, by making the engine run a certain way so that it does not emit certain pollutants makes the engines run less eficently which means that it will burn more gas and produce more CO2, this is the absolute opposite of what emission regulations should be trying to do

  • @thefarmfred1 If youre burning and gas in that motor, youve got more issues than bitching about the EPA, and im pretty sure your MPG will quickly go to shit..

  • Building an engine to run on nothing but ultra-low sulphur diesel, and eliminating its ability to run on anything else, would be like God designing man to drink nothing but fruity bitch drinks like Smirnoff Ice. Federal emissions regulations and environmentalists make me sick! They're nothing but tyrants.

  • it would be nice with out all the EGR bull shit and crap.

  • great info on 6.4 = thanks alot. my mph double with tuner / pipe. 18 to 20

  • how can you tell if the egr is deleted from a 6.0l?

  • Thanks Bill!!

  • Man you are one smart fella! You sure opened my eyes to what is going on with the 6.0's. I've watched all of your videos on them and it seems you just have to do a couple of things to them to make a real reliable motor. I'm buying an Excursion and I was going to get a 7.3 but hell now I want a 6.0!! Thanks bill

  • Always great info!

  • I'm excited for the 6.7! Great videos on here though, sure has given me some great advice.

  • hey! glad to see you back posting videos! really love your stuff, i dont own a diesel but its great information, please continue making videos.. even if its just a video log of a job youre doing on a truck, i think others will agree we love just seeing a master at work

  • Fabulous series just completed the injector tune up on my 7.3 and WOW what a rebirth . THAK YOU for the info of the mystery 3 quart!

  • Cool I thought you had given up on youtube. nice to see your doing good.

  • what a mess of engine man! it seems a lot of iron and steel and shit!! ehhehe

  • Sir I was asking about the 6.0 liter engine. I am watching the series in reverse sorry.

  • Awsome stuff. Very cool to finaly see this. Makes my 6.9 look like a simple toy compared to this.

  • Excellent vid! The 6.4L PSD truly is an amazing motor. Ridiculous potential, like you said air intake, exhaust, and tuning (which shuts-off the EGR) from Spartan Diesel Technologies and your looking at 550-600hp and 1000-1200 lb-ft at the wheels!!

Love the Rudys Performance 6.4L PSD truck!! 1st. Powerstroke over 1000hp uncorrected. 1,041 HP, 1,829 LB-FT enough said!

I dont think the new 6.7L Ford in-house Powerstroke will be as powerful as easily as the 6.4L.

  • Good to see you back sir! It has been awhile, and I have been excited to see this series on the 6.4!
