  • i need this car!

  • this must be the new optimus prime

  • Stats: 397 Horsepower, 765 Lb ft of Torque, Max towing capacity of 21,700 Lbs. Secret Word: ontour

  • Secret word ONTOUR and the first stat was 397 horsepower & 765 lb-ft of torq THANKS!!

  • man, thats propa!

  • thank god they still make stuff like these.

  • at least chevy is confident in their trucks to put a 100,000 mile warenty on it, they could bump it up to 200,000 and still be fine.

  • chevy rules

  • We got them! You Need Them!

  • I'm a dodge guy, but this is the only Chevy i would ever consider buying if there was nothing else to get..

in this case. RAM 5500 FTW!!

  • I'm not much of a truck guy, I like my vette, but that was a pretty cool commercial.

  • BADASS!

  • is it death proof?

  • looks fake, like cgi

  • @somejackball Umm...yeah. That's why it's called a "CGI Tour" as stated in the title.

  • @somejackball it is cgi. read the info box

  • Nice, I wished I could see videos like this back when I was a kid learning about vehicles.

  • makes you wonder how they get that much power out of such an emissions choked down engine, must be doing something weird, the internals of the engine probably dont like it much i would imagine.

  • Yeah i wana get one of these trucks! That truck has a lot of power.

  • I love how on the 2011s GM is finally offering the Snow Plow Prep package on the 3/4 tons and bigger with an extended or Crew Cab with the Duramax. Its always been you could only get it on regular cabs with a Diesel engine.

And we all know about the power changes ;)

This is the year that GM trucks are gonna be on top.

  • Bravo to the people that made that commercial, very well done!

  • its so CGI perfect that even the Tires dont get dirt on them :D

  • beautiful work truck :)

  • nice... now how about a 1/2 ton with a small diesel engine for those of us that dont need all of this but that want a reliable fuel efficient truck.

  • @BetoG34 They were thinking about it, until it was determined not worth it or something like that. I think everyone except Audi and VW cancled plans for any diesels. They were planning a 4.5l turbo diesel for half ton Silverado/Sierras!

  • Government Motors? the name is General Motors, get it right. plus the government is selling its shares and is gettin a 10% profit outta helping GM. its never Government Motors, its General Motors!

  • @Jutt08 well said

  • becuase of the the photorealistic quality of this animation, I'd say some GPU unbiased renderer was used to create the lighting, but the animation could have been created by 3ds max which is very popular in the industry as a standard content creation tool.

  • that kicked ass!!

  • haha someone is getting paid a LOT of money sitting in front of a computer by GM what amazing CGI work

  • woww

  • all car commercials should be like this.... that way you know what your actually pay for & buying...

  • So a decepticon...

  • What software was this made on?

  • the GMC model is bad ass too

  • I love this truck but Dodge out tows this truck. The Ram HD can tow 24500 pounds clearly more than this one.

  • dualy

  • graphics look cheap, have they heard of color correction?

  • i want that truck

  • Lets see it go against the Ford SUPER DUTY!

  • its the best truck known to man. 765 ft lb of tourqe? holy shit! thats alot dude, itll pull a house down haha. CHEVY ROCKS!

  • i SO want this TRUCK! Damn HOT!

  • Ok, this is pretty cool. Just need to say that it's a 2011 CHEVY Silverado HD.

  • Americans rule the heavy duty market period. However, I'm not a big fan of Duramax, but this is an Exception!

  • can It keep a new fiat 5oo in the back??

  • @vanniz82 yeah and race one too

  • Best informative ad I have seen to date and it grabs ur attention

  • very nicee, i hope they do the same commercial for all of their cars, specially camaro...

  • Chevy Trucks Rule!

  • looks sick!

  • Thats what I am talking about. Go GM Go. GM is serious to kick some butt.

  • SICK!

  • Great video of a seriously great truck.

  • That truck is a work of art, chevy tough

  • Serious shit.

  • Hmm, it does make more HP and TQ than the super-duty but the super-duty still tows more and hauls more. So im not sure which Ford truck, or vehicle in that case, they are comparing to.

  • @FordNissanChevy Only the 450 tows more but it doesnt haul more than the 3500HD but the Chevy tows more than the 350 and hauls more than 350

  • Very cool video! I wonder how much that cost?

  • cool video

  • i want one

  • Gotta say this is a better commercial without the announcer.

  • One word: BEAST

  • woow this is good

  • wow

  • holy torque

  • I'd really like to see the new 2011 silverado compete with the competition now

  • Thats what I am talking about.

  • How can the gas engine have a higher payload capacity than the diesel?

  • @UncleSam330: I was wondering about that too. lol

  • @UncleSam330 its because of the GVWR. since the diesel weighs more, it takes away from the weight it can carry on the same frame. since gas engines weigh less, they can have more payload. then in the same respect, with towing, the diesl tows more because the weight is not at the rear and on second pair of tires. however, i woudnt mind the tow ratings, i'd haul just as much as the max with the diesel.

  • @KLsemperFi7 Ok, so it pretty has to do with the difference between the "downward" weight of the payload and "sideways" weight of the towing, if that makes sense?

  • @UncleSam330 think of it this way... the engines a weigh different. now imagine the chassis and suspension were all on their own. they are both rated at 24,000 GCWR and 6300 lbs payload, ok. now put a gas engine on the frame...the towing goes down because gas can't tow as much, but payload stays up because the weight of the engine is less, therefore less weight is used up by the engine and can be used for payload. with a diesel, more weight is taken up by a heavier engine

  • @KLsemperFi7 I think I get what you mean. You're saying that by having the lighter gas engine, the whole truck weighs less, so the engine has less weight to move around, but since the diesel engine is heavier, the engine adds more weight, which takes away from the payload it can take.Gotcha. What I still don't get though is that the diesel engine has quite a lot more torque than the gas engine, so doesn't the extra torque compensate for the extra weight, or is the weight difference just too much?

  • @UncleSam330 you are correct with the torque. everything is base on the chassis however. it doesnt matter how much torque, its the amount of weight the chassis can handle. period. lighter gass engine means more wieght can be payload. heaver diesel engine means less payload. torque argument is what answers towing however, i.e. thats why the diesels towing raitings are huge compared to gas engine towing... the torque.

  • @KLsemperFi7 Ok, I finally get it now. So pretty much the diesel CAN handle a lot more payload than the gas engine, but if the frame can't. I finally get it now! Thank you SOO much for taking the time to explain this to me.

  • Payload is also determined by the rear axle whether it be a SF or a FF axle.

  • @yfzfofitty06 oh i know, i said what i said based on his question concerning the frames and engine... he nevere inquired about the axle. but thats true

  • gotcha.

  • Better than transformers

  • @Brianistheman03 HELL NO
