Mando1man, I love Ana's performance, and regarding the dvd, the sound, videography, and editing is very well done. I watch the whole dvd about twice a week. I am taking guitar lessons, and I am learning several of the pieces that Ana performs.

I have loved classical guitar music for 30 years and I believe I have heard all the best. But I think this young lady is going to set a new mark for excellence with this instrument. She seems committed and could well become *the* best ever. She may be for the 21st century what Segovia was to the 20th, only better.

Yes, I've noticed that about tempo. It is the only thing about her playing that bugs me a little, but I think once she realizes how solidly established she is, she will mellow out. Her tempo in "Cathedral" was perfect and the piece was beautifully articulated here, so she definitely has the feel for the music. Even John Williams doesn't seem to have her level of expression and interpretive brilliance.

But then, I'm just a dumb fan. What do I know?

@OktoberStorm I don't remember which movement you are talking about, but I feel that many of the things she plays are too fast.

Of course, I make this comment realizing that she and all her instructors and critics know FAR more about this music than I do.

The woman is phenomenal, pure and simple, no matter what tempo she chooses.

I purchased Ana's Mel Bay video. It's really inspiring! There are a good number of young performers around these days. Ana being in the top!

I would love to see more classical guitar performances on DVD. Maybe:

Note finger 2 pressed over 1 on the bar at :46...my teacher used to stop me from doing that...seems to be working fine for her. Technique is very personal..whatever works and is musical is good.

Sounds nice, but everyone notes this is not a live performance. Ana#s live performances without those excessive reverberations and editing are maybe not as smooth but are definitely better. On the other hand, having many Mel Bay#s DVDs, I should admit that their

recordings are buy far better as compared with some other commercial labels with even more editing, slashing away the essence of the guitar. Thanks for posting.

Sure we added a tiny bit of verb. But there is absolutly NO editing of the performances. The takes are all "as is" with no editing. She's an amazing player.

Just back from her concert in Tokyo. She told me the pickup was made in Australia. Actually she admitted she forgot the name of PU. How cute is she!!

Btw, the concert was great. I liked "Five Bagatelles" very

much. I thank her for driving force for me to practice guitar.

From this sneak peek it looks great - more intimate than the first one (which I have), and like I said the sound will be wonderful. I'm buying it the second its released. I encourage any Ana fans to get this new DVD when its released!

Yes that mike is an SM69. I've been told by the folks at Mel Bay that it wil be released sometime soon, maybe the end of May 09.
