@bmw76308 $16,500... I wound up buying a C5 Corvette. Black, 6 speed manual, Targa top, all the options. I'm not done with classic cars, I'm sure I'll have another some day.
I love the feel of the 55 Chevy, something really comfortable about the proportions of the day I guess. Your motor sounds like it has a valve knock, maybe check compression and adjust the valves? The exhaust should completely exit the vehicle, not terminate halfway to the rear bumper. I'll bet it doesn't run very log in the shape it's in....
Very nice truck brother, have always loved the tri 5 pickups in any configuration.Do yourself a huge favour and take all that shit off your keyring or seperate it so just the truck neccesary keys are on one and the rest on another. You dont want to tear up the ignition with that boat anchor hangin off the dash.otherwise you are the picture of envy man.Hope like hell to own one this nice one day soon.Best of luck and buy a box of rubbers.thats what the bed is for ;)
just a word of advice, take off some keys from yoru keyring. The more keys you have and the more weight your keyring is, the more it tears up your iginition.
I love it .I have one on a 85 blazer but just primered right now .i wish you showed the bed ..I put the 30 gal blazer gas tank in the back where the spare goes .you can still use the stock gas inlet to put gas in it...That thing is SSAWEEEEET!
@Xjarq Displacement is 400ci (6.6L). No idea how much power, never been on a dyno. Dont know 0-60, or top speed. Fastest I've driven it is 75 on the turnpike. I bought the truck to cruise around, make noise, and turn heads... not to go fast ;)
only problem i see is a tunnel ram is made for higher rpm's and 4 wheeling your not in the rpm all the times. plus has a very small midrange, or rv in it. sound's like flowmasters. i mean its a very nice looking truck. if your looking for just cruising no offroad i would leave it, the edlebrocks are good for daily driving. if youw ant more hp stuff on some holley's. what trans? stall or not? and gears?
@prostreet55 Hey. So far the tunnel ram has been pretty easy to live with on the street. I don't plan on taking it off road in its current configuration. I keep it in rear wheel high 99% of the time. Only time I've used the 4 wheel drive is during icy conditions.
The trans is a very sturdy Turbo350 with a shift kit. Gears are 4.11 Thanks for commenting.
@ArmedZagi i'm not saying it won't work, i'm saying they ae generally made for 3500 and higher rpm's. a stroker would have been good, but then a tunnel ram would have been useless unless you had bigger cam etc. the 400's are ok, i don't like the thin walls. but you shouldn't have that problem. other than that looks nice, etc.
Thats sweet, too bad its the 400, im personally not a fan, a 383 stroker would be better, the 400 had overheating problems, but as long as its not worked to hard it should be fine. friggin sweet truck though.
Nice truck my friend. Keep it garaged if you can an don't abuse it and you will recoup your investment years from now. I have an older truck that was redone and I make sure I drive it once a week whether I need to or not. Nothing worse for a machine to sit idle for long periods of time. Again, have fun with this beauty.
Yo dude...my dad and mom are rebuilting a 57 chevy..check it out ...it's gona be awsome...just like yours man...it's CRAZY!!!every thing to like dude!!!..some day I might just have one of those...but more low rider type...too bad they are starting to be rare...Keep it clean!!
hahahaha that noise you hear in the motor is absolutly normal. its called a solid lifter cam shaft they are meant to be noisy...the only bad thing is you need to adjust the lifters like every month
its a good investment, ive had them in for 3 years, and the truck gets hammered daily, and ive had no problems, and they have just gotten louder. Just do it, not to mention i would trade all the shit i have to have purchased that truck that you got.
in my oppinion the gear drive does nothing but make noise, and when you already have a loud truck, at least around me, itll just get you in alot of trouble, heres a hornet with a 350 and a gear drive,
instead of being helical cut they are straight cut. built a big block and kept tearing up timing chains, put those gears in get a good loud whine distinct sound, but they work great. should invest, in a set for around 200 bucks, order them from summit. easy to install, bout 2 hours
im talking about a timing set. instead of being a chain drive like edelbrock true roller as an example. the pete jackson is a real gear drive no chain. the gear drive timing is dead crisp too. the teeth on the gears are cut two different ways quite & noisy. the noisy pete jackson is most used due to the whine sound. almost like a blower or turbo sound.
hey there TOLLIN!!..its tyler....lol...just to let everyone know that the ride is bumpy, kida loud upclose..and is an awesome ride!!!..leave some comments and stars for collin!!!
Thanks! The gps will be hidden as soon as possible. The only reason its there right now is because my speedo cable is broken. As soon as thats replaced and my dash is functional, the gps unit will be hidden. :)
Nice truck. Take care of it. It should last you a lifetime. Too bad about the custom wheels because I agree that they don't suit the truck and are probably a costly change. Oh well, lots of time to make it yours. Some nice custom walnut in the cab might be nice.
How much did it sell for & what did you get to replace this sweet ass truck ?
