Have you lost it,we're talking about engine,s here not body styles, which I must say the GT40 is a picture, but last time I looked Carroll Shelby is American and so is the Mustang V8.I give ownership back to ya.
A ferrari makes no sense in america anyways. stupidly low speed limit and no corners. So how can they love them? I love ferrari but I am european you cannot make an american love something that is not really designed for them. Daayam they love them trucks too much.
wow, from europe? you probably drive a car with 3 cylinders and about 90 hp so how about you DON'T judge America just because we have a taste for cars with real power. Go drive your little Smart around your "European Corners" and not try to sound like you know what you're talking about when it comes to cars.
12 cylinders actually. I DRIVE a ferrari not pose in one or those 'muscle' cars. If US cars are so good how come you all drive and work for toyota now?
Oh forgot also my 5 series, my wifes RX8 and my 500hp JDM 300zx twin turbo. Your a fantasy flamer probably without even a license. Typical opinions rather than facts, shoot from the hip, attack before thinking. I work in the USA a week a month so when did you last come to europe? USA has some corners (at each stop light)
3 weeks ago actually? and you love your ferrari? come to america, see some 1000 hp mustangs rolling the streets for 50 grand less than your ferrari. i'm not bad mouthing ferraris, great cars, great history to go with them, i'm just saying, until you step into a thousand horse american car, don't say anything about them.
Your 1000hp cars are dyno wonders, seen em, been in em. The 'point' of a supercar is performance AND image so 'my-cheaper-car-can-match-yours' arguments are irrelevant to supercar owners. Owning ferrari I don't need to be 'saving' $50k on anything. Yes I love my ferrari, <150 were ever made,it goes the 200mph its looks promise, I get welcomed like a king in italian restaurants and women lose it. Mustang? perleez
dyno wonders that kick the living hell out of your ferrari. 1/4 mile times in under 9 seconds and be street legal. Ferrari can't do that. I'm not bad mouthing the car, i'm just saying, respect the american muscle too. If it goes fast, it deserves some respect.
I would if there was something to respect. What's to respect? 1/4 mile? i.e. faster from stop light to stop light - then what? Tell you what I will race my ferrari against your muscle. Lets say from london to lisbon.......I would pay to ship it over just for the laugh. Muscle is over in USA JDM has USA owned
i agree, American muscle was great back in the 70's, but it's outdated....JDM is the way to go. People who defend American muscle just feel vulnerable and don't want to admit change. Sure you can get 1,000 HP from an american engine, but is it safe horsepower? i guess it is for a few runs until you blow the cylinders:P, you're paying for 500+ SAFE horse power tuned to last longer than you're grossly over tuned 1,000+ HP american muscle car.
Ah sensible reply. Lypur sums it up perfectly. Most guys seek power for low bucks. In the 70's amercian muscle did it no doubt. Today JDM does it. Yes you can always find a 1,000hp one run special but it will blow. I just wish you guys in the bang-for-buck scene would stop comparing your cars to supercars. Performance is only one aspect of supercar ownership, the others, rarity, prestige, female effect have nothing to do with your hot rods so compare against each other not my ferrari.
if thats how u want it let me tell u this. ferraris dont need superchargers to reach 217 mph or 3.4 seconds 0 - 60. american cars use them then only they beat ferrari cars. i dont think a stock gt500 or c6 z06 corvette and srt viper can outrun the enzo on track and on street.
Still 1000hp musatngs are slower and do not have much comfort. oh and Ferrari cars got more technology in thier steering wheel than the whole body of mustangs, corvettes and vipers.
Love the fact that the comments on both sides come, in the main, from guys who've never driven the F430. One thing's for certain, until you have driven a 430 you really don't know what you're missing...
the thing about ferrari's is not just the performance. Granted the new c6 z06 gives you massive amounts of performance, not just straight line like most american cars, but also in the curves. The idea behind ferrari is the quality of the goods, the racing heritage it has, the beauty of the vehicle, and a sound that has yet to be matched. Its just as much about style and prestige as it is about the performance.
I love the ferrari but u have to look at what a muscle car costs and what a ferrari costs then judge the performance. Ferrari's happent o my favorite but muscle cars give one hell of a punch for your buck.
The difference between your GTO and the Ferrari is that any dumbass can make their 10-ton truck or Chevy Astro van roar with a low grunt. This sound is unique to the low-displacement, high-power engines in Ferraris.
i must say the 2006 corvette z06 with the 505 hp 7.0 v8 is really an amazing car, chevy has really outdone themselves, although in the land of supercars the italians are king, ferraris and lamborghinis are in a league of their own
thats a common excuse you guys like, so congrats...and you guys only did that for about $150,000 more per engine. I think we've tried and succeeded in bringing supercars to affordability.
an affordale supercar means it is not a supercar. The value proposition for supercar ownership is:- rarity, prestigious brand, power and performance. If you make them by the 1,000s and sell them so any joe can buy it sorry it is no longer a supercar.
man... i'm tired of this total idiotic argue... USA vs Rest of the world... why do you have to picture yourselves better than anything/anyone else in the world? just face it... you have absolutely no car whatsoever to face perfection... only brute force, without any kind of control...
Ppl calling Ferrari engine sounds lame... Do you even realise how stupid you just look! The whole world has bowed to Ferrari exhaust tubes, if you don't know it now you do. So next time you get thoughts like these keep them in...
here here my good man, lets just leave the hillbillys to their over sized burble machines that make a lot of noise for not much result. Can't beat technical perfection in an engineered Italian engine.
