@maick95 Yes, sort of. I made two compilations of clips from random matches I played in the Online Edition, but I don't think I will ever improve enough to consider myself a good player, I'll tell you that.
I dont know why people hate these vids so much. I think it's cool to see some of this crazy shit that human reflexes are rarely capable of. If people want to criticize it for being "fake" then shouldn't they criticize every fight scene in movies, television, anime etc? I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but I find these vids pretty entertaining personally.
As a 3S player myself, I have to say that these videos are really cool. If nothing else, they showcase the concept of "you always have a second chance in this game!" which is one of the great points about 3S. Enjoy the video, it helps show how good this game really is =].
I know the response would be, "who cares what you think" but it's just me explaining why I thought the Dudley/Ken vid was different.
Don't get me wrong, I love TAS videos. I watch tons of TAS stuff off the TAS Video website (most often speed runs). I remember watching a Ken Hyper Fighting TAS and thinking, "This is gonna be dumb" but was pleasantly surprised when I saw lots of cool combos and setups in the vid (the vs Sagat match comes to mind).
@lled78 LOL dude 3 words: ITS A GAME. and people can do many things to make the game more exciting, even using TAS. lol from the looks of the negative comments on ya, i'd say you reaaally didnt think before you talked. LOOOL
@lled78 Ah okay, so no one likes scripted fights. Except for the people who do.
Thanks for the lesson in history. That is, cool history.
Also, try to make some sense while you explain what is the point of making a TAS that involves *real* play. That's goes against the very purpose of TA. It says right there on the title what it is, so you only clicked the link on purpose to whine about it. That's okay, I whine about things as well sometimes, then I put my balls back on.
@AlexxShadenk777 If you go back and read what I said I never made the argument that you should make a *real* TAS video. What I said is making a TAS video puts you at a severe disadvantage because it cheapens the impact of what you are showing. The reason why I said this is, I actually DID enjoy your Dudley vs Ken TAS video. In that video you had nice combos, practical setups, and even both characters using practical pokes and pressure strings. In my mind you overcame the TAS barrier for that video.
@lled78 It'll always look cheap and over the top. That's the whole point of doing this. I'm glad that you like the Dudley vs Ken one the most, I do too, but didn't think it looked actually practical; no more than the others. Both characters did as much out of place things as in the other fights, such as Dudley's Cross Counters / Ken getting hit by them deliberately. Not to mention all the unnecessary red parries, you wouldn't attempt those in a real match (not the way I used them at least).
@AlexxShadenk777 In my head I kinda have a "wow cool" point system. So it'd kinda go like this: -10 points because it's TAS (This was where I was thinking every TAS starts at a disadvantage) +1 or +2 when I see a nice combo or neat setup. 0 points for parry exhibitions. Things that I'd view as neat setups are things like the double duck under at the start. The throw bait back dash (I still give points inspite of the fact that Ken tried to punish afterwards with standing MK).
@lled78 And yet I still don't get why you pulled the WWE out of your ass as your initial point. This is a videogame and it feels way more exciting to watch than two or more poorly dressed men pretending to fight eachother.
You clearly understand I had the characters make mistakes on purpose. Why? To make the fight last longer. To make the exhibition more complete. To make it flashier -- so forth. It's all part of the entertainment I think, and the way you judge such videos is perhaps too tight.
@DieOxXiN Well, setting the difficulty to 8 is a start.
But TAS videos are always made by human input, and then played back. It's not an automated process, it's not an AI. I controlled both characters over several hours to reach this result.
hmm. When you are doing these battles, is the music just really slow? just a random question. the reflector parries in the third battle were sick, I love SF3 TA fights. ^-^
@GuardianOfTheKey No, the music does not change while recording/working on something like this. The emulator has the ability to all of it at the same time: record input, pause, and manually advance frame by frame, then once you're finished, play back the input you recorded and it also makes a video out of the whole thing. The emulator's called Final Burn Alpha ReRecording (or just FBARR). And while you're advancing frames manually, the music is muted, but the final recording has everything.
@mlgsquareeyes Yes they are. Sorry but I'm not gonna dedicate a comment describing how to do it. Go to the shoryuken[dot]com forum, it's where I learned; and yes, it's an actual website.
@mlgsquareeyes He wasn't rude or condescending at all. He explained where to find it and that he wasn't going to dedicate a comment to it more than likely that it would take up a ton of space. Anything else is implied by the reader.
@jaysenedwinward I ask for help and end up in an argument. YAY interwebs. -_- "You don't know what the word condescending means." sounds pretty condescending to me.
