@bulletsponge62485 probably cause your bike is not this bike lol... with regular winds an r6 will hit in the range of 160 to 185 mph. 185mph will most likely be from a sprocket change. This applies to i think up to the 09 r6 models, Not sure about the top speed of 2011/2012, actually I just got the 2011 r6, I'll test it out :P. Curious what you ride though, since you said much higher, daytona 675? 1000cc class? .

Sports Cars have more top end then bikes.. In long run they will run them down. 0 to 60 with a good rider bikes are hard to beat. Quarter mile run on the streets they are tough to beat but take it to 160mph or higher and the car has the time that it might catch up..
Nice race, a buddy of mine ran an 11.71@119 in his Stock RT Viper a few years back but then again he's a REAL good driver. It shows what the car can do in the hands of someone experienced, and pair up the good driver with a modded Viper and its hard to beat. Thanks for posting.

I'm 6'1, 230 lbs. I'm not a tiny bike tester. I've raced bikes all my life. That's all a 2000 R6 has on a race like that one. We started back on the top of that hill you see. I launched on him and had a good lead but he just reeled me in and smoked by me at about 260 kmh.
ive raced my buddies 2010 ZR1 on my 04 r6 and have pulled on him everytime, and thats a 620 hp monster that runs an 11.1 in the 1/4 there no way an older viper like this one should beat an r6 if the guy knows how to ride

so for about $13k AUD you can buy something out of the box that will come close to a dodge viper in a straight line. or for about 17k AUD buy a ZX10R throw $10k at it and watch it beat the viper all the way down the quater mile, and still be about 100k better off.
600's do the 1/4 mile the same as a viper but the trap speed on the viper's around 5mph higher. that means it's about to run u down @ the 1/4 mile mark. and don't do roll-ons with viper or higher horsepower without expecting trouble. they will pull. your 60ft's where u get ahead but takes some practice, and very critical to do a nice rounded burnout with your tire so u don't tankslap =/

Bike will almost always win in terms of acceleration but a nice sports car just has a top end advantage (aerodynamics, longer gears, etc.). A more interesting race would be a chase through some twisty roads; at that point it would be about who is a better driver/rider.

As we passed the camera we were going 255kmh. Both races the bike wins for the first 0-250 but then the viper seriously seems to just start trying and grabs a gear and is gone... I love my bikes but thats the truth on that race.

a r6 is around 120 at the crank. ita 100 or even less and the rear wheel. so the see wat it does in the shape it nuts. u throw 5000 dollars and it which would make it 15000 dollars total and it would owe that viper. a thinner head gasket to up the compression and a full exhaust and a intake and velocity stacks and a tune and maybe even a lil nitrous that viper would be its bitch. even if it started to catch up a lil whiff of n2o and godbye. yet still 80000 dollars cheaper haha

The ACR runs 11's stock, the newer ones run low 11s.... Although the R6 is capable of running high 9's there are VERY few riders that can do them under high 10s to low 11s.

255 going up a bit as we passed the line. R6 launches and gets a couple car lengths but the V-10 runs it down. R6 cant keep up at high speeds every race I had against a viper ended the same way as this video. after a quarter mile the beast makes the 120hp bike look like a toy.

sorry R6 fans. The viper is just too fast for a stock R6. It's not like i can't ride the bike but at 250-260kph the viper just out powers it. both Vipers I have raced did excatly the same thing as this video. at 255 it pulls away like it decided to start trying... I hate it so I bought a R1
dude, i have an 03 r6 that top speeds at 176mph, you should have easily pulled and stayed ahead of just about any car. i think something was wrong with ur bike.
Quarter mile, both stock. The viper wont cut it. If it's longer than that, the R6 wont cut it, Nor any other bike of any displacement for that matter. Once again. Both stock. Case closed
Main problem with bikes at that speed is aerodynamics. Cars have a much lower coefficient of drag so they're much better at 200+kmph than bikes simply because power to weight ratio takes a back seat to aerodynamic drag.
Power to weight is king for 0-150kmph stomps however after that it's aero, gear ratios and sheer horsepower.
I have a Yamaha R6 01 ... and it doesn't sound like that... somethings wrong with the dudes bike... .. watch the video again... you can here it kinda sounds like a rattaling honda type of noise... they're suppose to sound beefy unless its a 99 and under R6

a zx14r has a top speed of 195-205 ish.
Bikes have quicker accerleration, and get to top speed quicker,but have a lower top speed. Bikes are also less areodynamic than cars.
If you raced a true 1/4 mile, a stock car will not beat a stock bike even a 600.

As we passed the camera we were going 255kmh. Both races the bike wins for the first 0-250 but then the viper seriously seems to just start trying and grabs a gear and is gone... I love my bikes but thats the truth on that race.

a r6 is around 120 at the crank. ita 100 or even less and the rear wheel. so the see wat it does in the shape it nuts. u throw 5000 dollars and it which would make it 15000 dollars total and it would owe that viper. a thinner head gasket to up the compression and a full exhaust and a intake and velocity stacks and a tune and maybe even a lil nitrous that viper would be its bitch. even if it started to catch up a lil whiff of n2o and godbye. yet still 80000 dollars cheaper haha

@nutsack1888 eh, the bike would have ate it off the line, if the rider didn't shift right and right before redline I can see the viper catching up by that kinda speed because it's still got more to go.
The ACR runs 11's stock, the newer ones run low 11s.... Although the R6 is capable of running high 9's there are VERY few riders that can do them under high 10s to low 11s.

@robm78 not sure if your american or what but a european R6 can destroy a racing viper over that distance no sweat. please dont think im a fanboy.. check for yourselves on santa pod raceway times for the qtr mile and 'brunt' proving grounds for all your 1km or 1mile times. I seen a 99plate turbo R6 destroy a 1000hp big yellow juntuned skyline over a standing mile at 204mph so nothing surprises me. My money was on the nissan so im done listening to the "but flat out the car wou...." boys.

@nutsack1888 yes, I'm American but I'm not saying a viper could beat a 6 (I own a r6) in a qtr mile or mile for that matter.. there is no way. But in this video you can tell they had been near top speed for longer than what the video shows. Viper is faster then 160-70 top speed... eventually it will catch up.

@robm78 no mate an R6 can beat that easily till its flat out at 162-165mph.. only then will the car go by. like i said go check out the facts. An 2000 re-vamped original R6 can reach 160mph a full 6 seconds quicker. I got destroyed above 130mph on my old 02 R6 by a few cars in germany but i can promise you a new viper(srt) is slower than a new M3 to 155mph so come on man :)

an r6 would beat almost anycar to 100 or 120 but any higher than that and it loese velocity due to aerodynamics. The viper will win in the long run do the cage, and driver confidence and also a very aerodynamic shell.

Yes, you are right. It's easy (ok, not so easy bacause bikes are faster in acceleration, even a 600cc) to put a "big" car like viper Vs the smallest bike race. Maybe bacause they know that in long distance the car win a 600cc(for 1 meter), but not a 1000cc.

255 going up a bit as we passed the line. R6 launches and gets a couple car lengths but the V-10 runs it down. R6 cant keep up at high speeds every race I had against a viper ended the same way as this video. after a quarter mile the beast makes the 120hp bike look like a toy.

I can tell because even if you don't like Americans or our cars or whatever your little fettish is, there are good qualities. It's the same as hating a particular car or car company, just because you don't like them doesn't mean their "trash". sorry R6 fans. The viper is just too fast for a stock R6. It's not like i can't ride the bike but at 250-260kph the viper just out powers it. both Vipers I have raced did excatly the same thing as this video. at 255 it pulls away like it decided to start trying... I hate it so I bought a R1

Main problem with bikes at that speed is aerodynamics. Cars have a much lower coefficient of drag so they're much better at 200+kmph than bikes simply because power to weight ratio takes a back seat to aerodynamic drag.
Power to weight is king for 0-150kmph stomps however after that it's aero, gear ratios and sheer horsepower.
