i think that your video is an awesome partner to this song. a while back, my sweet ex and i spent an afternoon going over john denver songs because she'd heard one that she wanted for a wedding song. this one has been a favorite of mine since the first time i heard it years ago. it ended up that this wasn't the one she had in mind but i love it even more having sat here with her listening to it. the one she was thinking of is my sweet lady... she went her own way since. i love her even more now
Listening to this beautiful song again made me realize what a great talent we lost when John died.....glad we still have his music to listen to, and enjoy...suzi
Beautiful song beautifully sung & performed. Theres a northern English folk group called the Houghton Weavers who recorded the best version though & that was live too. Look it up! Unfortunately not on youtube Doh!
This is breathtakingly beautiful-the sounds, and the amazing view, topped off with Johns amazing voice. Tears are welling up, however, because it makes me remember my Mom, & other fam. & friends who have passed away. Thanks, catbrush123, for sharing this masterpeice. Views like this are one of the best things in life that are free!
Todayyyy...I really liked this song,Thank you for uploading it..it would be very nice if you can make a slide of his pictures..but its ok,,it is highly appreciated..luv ya!
This song really brings me back to the childhood days when my parents used to play it. Sweet, nostalgic, contented.... beautiful. and plusteenUSA your house is in a really nice place!
John Denver would be the 1st person to stand up and tell you not to be predjudise of anyone!!!!
I heard a speach he gave of peace throughout the world, he made such a heartfelt speach of how we are all humanbeings, and I still have the tape in my storage not with me rt now because it was on cassette. If only the whole world would of heard this speach, as soon as I am able to get to it again, I am going to post parts of it. It is funny, but i was thinking of that speach last week.
When my daughter was a little girl I would sing this song to her and also Sunshine on my Shoulders, I would sing Sunshine on my shoulders to her as I walked alobg the beach carrying her on my shoulders. Thank goodness Kleenex are cheap,,,
my mother used to sing this to my sister and I when we were little, and her sister used to sing it to her. It brings me so much joy to hear it again, and know who sang it.
@PlusTeenUSA I can believe that a black woman could grow up on John Denver's singing. One of the cruelest forms of racism is insisting that a black person must listen to "black" music, dress a certain way, talk a certain way, or else they are accused of being sell-outs and "oreo cookies". If you like black music, fine. If you like John Denver. . . . why not? Telling somebody what they can or can't do because of their skin colour is racism, even when it comes from another black person.
@DuchessXzena I grew up in the Philipines in the late 60's and early 70's and heard this song always sang by the Boy Scouts. I thought this was a Scouting song until I learned this was sang by the Christy and later by John Denver. I wonder if any Boy Scout historian could tell how this song become such a favorites for Campers in the 70's.
@catbrush123 Thats horrible lol. There has been several singers and actors and famous people but especially singers that die in plane crashes. John denver was a great singer and song writer.
October 12, 1997 was the day that he died. I am 31 years old and I just love his music!! This is one of my favorites. I wish that he had a music video of this song.
@Helismoke I also think thats sad that he died and that he died that way. Just like other singers I wonder, ? Why did we have to loose him? My girlfriend loves his music to.
@Helismoke Thanks. I had heard, apparently wrongly, that he ran out of fuel over the Rocky Mountains. Aerobatics? Wow. Rich people can really get themselves in trouble with their money.
Thank you Thank you Thank you so much for uploading this video. I love mornings but I happened to have a particularity horrible one today so my day has not bean wonderful so far but watching this reminded me of just how beautiful morning can be, also this is one of the first JD songs I ever herd/learned so it made me think of some wonderful memories. You have made my day.
Marion, beautiful........just beautiful video with John's "Today". Thank you, thank you!!!!!!!! Wonderfully done! Man, I will never tire of listening to John's music.
Marion, Thank you so much for this beautiful remembrance that we truly live in "One World." It is so stark, yet so intricate and meaningful.
This rendition of "Today" is, IMHO, the best one ever recorded. As a senior in high school, back in 1964, "Today" by The New Christy Minstrels was one of my favorite pieces of music. It spoke and still speaks to the universality of the human spirit.....as does your sensitive interpretation!
My god. Amazing. Having watced it all i decided to pull the curser along the progress bar and see the sun coming up in a couple of secs. Its amazing to see it come from nowhere and soar in the sky. Oh by golly yo nailed that alright. Well done. x
What, Amazing video!!! I loved this song too,
When I was college I and my friends always sing this song for spent time.
Thanks for sharing! :-)

@RayRoark2009 John had bought a plane from a man in Santa Maria, Ca, I believe it was a Vari-E-Z.
While doing aerobatics off the coast of Ca he didn't realize that the fuel crossover valves were up behind his left shoulder (It was a homebuilt).
His engine quit and he spun in fatally.
I was a Commercial Pilot in those days and read the transcript of the NTSB Accident report that we all used to get.
