  • until the end of nineties the MIG-25 were eligible to shotdown the modern American aircraft like F-18 hornet and F-16, like what happened in Iraq war beside the Iraqi Migs wasn't highly upgraded like Russian Migs .

  • fuck yeah foxbat!!!

  • A weaponized super plane- the Soviets were no joke...

  • where did you get this song.. can;t find it anywhere.

  • @wmcglinchey

    google next words:

Ashley Wallbridge - Dionysus (Original Mix) rapidshare

and go to "free download" - (11 files)

there are Links, also you can try on "Zippyshare"

  • @odzadze123 damn you know your planes

  • I remember when Clint Eastwood stole one of these.

  • dude, this video is badass. cool music and the footage is great

  • @chemiker494 it's an interceptor, not a fighter. Still, it's an incredible piece of engineering and a testament to Soviet ingenuity given the short time they developed it in.

  • 1:57.........WEEEE HERE WE GO WE ARE DI RUSSIAN MAN

  • Still the world's fastest fighter aircraft, with 3'000 km/h top speed!

Since the foundation of the MiG OKB and the construction of the MiG-1 in 1940, the fastest fighter plane in the world has always been a MiG, with a few short pauses.

Today, it still is the MiG-25, although more than 40 years old.

And it was a tough adversary, just ask friends of Mr. Scott Speicher!

  • I still can't believe a Mig-25PD shot down one of our F-18C's during the Gulf War on 1/17/91. Where was AWACS and our fighter cover for the F-18's going in on an Iron Hand mission? in the right hands a Mig-25 is a tough adversary.

  • @billfish6244

AWACS (and GCI) works well in theory, but in practice what happened was that the enemy aircraft could outfly the AAM - same thing as happened over Vietnam.

Did not learn, sit down, grade F, or what would you like to call it?

  • What a badass machine. Nothing else looks like the MiG-25. I don't care about who made what first - it is an extreme machine for it's time.

  • Nice videos man!... and good taste in trance^^

  • In all honesty, this is the plane that scared the Americans into building the F15. I think it's interesting that the 15 bears more than a passing resemblance to it.

  • @paytontech

Some writers have accused that the MiG-25 is a "steal" from the North American A-5 Vigilante, while anybody being able to tell two aircraft apart would notice the difference (e.g. the A-5 has a single tailfin and rudder, the MiG-25 has two of them).

  • @chemiker494

The "scare" about the Mig-25 was that the USAF calculated its estimated weight (using state-of-the-art light-weight construcion techniques) against wing area and thrust, and came to the conclusion that this bird was topping everything they had.

In fact, MiG-25 is made of steel and thus much heavier than initially thoght by the west.

Of course, hyping soviet capabilities was the usual way to secure lavish fundings for US defense contractors.

  • @chemiker494 LOL, the're's waaay too much different in the design and the timing of the Mig 25 and the A-5. The Americans themselves acknowledge that the 25 was the impetus for the F15's development.

  • USAF estimated the MiG-25 to be lighter than it actually was (based on the assumption of aluminium, not steel structure), and so the conclusion was that it must have had a low wing loading and a good thrust-to-weight ratio, making it an excelllent dogfighter as well as interceptor.

Wind in a tunnel behaves much the same way in the U.S, Russia, orand anywhere else so, aircraft intended for similar specs tend to look alike. The advent of CAD reinforced that trend even further!

  • NOBODY CAN BEAT THE RUSSIANS IN MILITARY AIRCRAFT TECHNOLOGY. EVEN WITH LIMITED FUNDING UNLIKE THE U.S. WHERE BILLIONS OF TAXPAYER DOLLARS ARE SPENT IN DEVELOPING NEW AIRCRAFT, SUKHOI, MIKOYAN AND TUPOLEV STILL MAKE THE BEST PLANES.

  • such a beatiful plane

  • This plane, 22. july 1977. made absolute flying altitude record - 37800 meters (124000 feet), A.V. Fedotov was the pilot.

  • Silly question. At @5:33 there's a short clip looking down on a Cessna 1-72. Is this a reference to Mitas Rust, or is this real video of his flight?

  • @WASPfreak

And what is maximum G-Load of SR-71? As far as I understand, SR-71 has better oveall performance than MiG-25 and could easily break its maximum speed records, but the MiG-25's world records in climb and altitude remained unattailable (they still stand today!) because of the -- well, "pathetic" has already been used up, so let's call it -+"*ç%&/()- maximum G-Load

  • @WASPfreak Komrade, MiG-25 was built to destroy Imperialist B-52 bombers from reaching Mother Russia. And try to shoot down that Imperialist Black Devil that out-flys Russia's fastest missiles. Pilots wear Cosmonaut suits because operating altitude is usually above 50,000 feet.

  • @WASPfreak And thats all probably absolutely spot on, but lets face it the '25 was designed for one role...going fast in a straight line. It doesn't need to do anything else! As with all aircraft, they are designed to do a job, and if they do it, they work! Personally I take the perspective that Russia's airspace is so vast, trying to chase anything down that might penetrate it with another aircraft is an uphill struggle!

  • @WASPfreak

Tumansky R-15BD-300 is Guzzler, but in Supercruise regime (Without Afterburner) at 1.5 mach engine Consume

    148 kg/(h·kN) of fuel,while J79-GE-17 from F-4E at same speed consume 200 kg/(h·kN) of fuel

    (with Afterburner).

R-15B-300 is axial flow, single shaft turbojet and was known for ease of maintenance and is very cheap engine.

R-15BD-300 Improved version have Life expectancy increased to 1000 hours.

    R-15 Engine use standard Jet Fuel 50-50 kerosene-gasoline blend,simmilar to JP-4.

  • That is one fast plane.

  • Yes, US was more honest about the world in 80s, after the Cold War we start to see more lies in propaganda. These days studens dont believe wha they learn fromcrappy social science class. SR-71 was design to have problematic fuel tanks ON Ground but working perfect IN AIR. The main problem is the control of Titanium material in the production of SR71, making its performance superior but expensive and less reliable the same time.

  • The Mig-25 and Mig-31 is the highest altitude plane in the world.Yes it beat the Black Bird SR-71.A lot of people in the West don't know that because the US like to put out propaganda.Yes the SR-71 is the fastest but it can only hold that mach 3+ speed for a short period. The SR-71 have a couple of problems with its fuel and structure of the plane. In the Ironman movie when Tony ask the computer what was the record for the highest altitude plane. The computer said SR-71 which is not true.

  • @211Alucard The Blackbird could fly mach 3.2 for 90 minutes.

  • The cockpit from 3:36 to 3:41 is from a MiG-23. The radar display at 2:33 looks from a MiG-25, but the one at 5:37 looks awfully like that from MiG-23ML... got it mixed up?, or is it a later version of the MiG-25 radar?

  • @Trivilinder

Footage from 3:36 to 3:41 is related for Soviet Aviation Academy and their advanced Training on Simulators for various types of aircrafts.

The radar display at 2:33, is from a MiG-25P fitted with RP-25 "Smerch A2" radar.

And the one at 5:37 is from Soviet Mig-25PD, Fitted with RP-25MN "Saphir-25" radar, wich is based on

    N003 Sapfir-23ML radar from Mig-23ML ...

  • @odzadze123

    OK Thanks for the info!

  • whats the name of the song? from 4min? thanks

  • @GalaticSpaceHero

No,Mig-25 Foxbat Interceptor is designed with purpose to intercept (in that time Experimental) Mach 3 Bomber "North American XB-70 Valkyrie",also is Soviet Counterpart to Lockheed YF-12 Interceptor.

(who had a unsatisfactory maneuverability for Fighter interceptor) and this is why U.S.A.F decided to abandon the project.

So his real enemy are SR-71 Blackbird Recconaissance and to be Honest,Slow F-4 Phantom.

(Remember Mig-25 had radar with twice longer range, than radar in F-4).

  • @svinche2 There F-4 right over here jacksonvill FL , ill bet money it wil eat that heavy Mig 25 alive. F-4 Phantom , its slow and cant perform? Somebody feeding you Russia cheese with plutonium left over from cold war. I laugh when these soppose arm chair experts call the F-4 a big Bus with big engines . HAAAAAAA what none sense ! Its isant that big for muti role fighter that performed alot missions well.

  • @GalaticSpaceHero In Iran Iraq war, Iraqi Mig-25 fleet

(Export version with Limited avionics and Limited armament)

    with R-40R missile,only 30Km range (vs Iranian AIM-7E with 45KM)

decimated the enemy air force, with over 30 confirmed Kills.

The most successful Iraqi MiG-25 pilot of the war was Colonel Mohommed "Sky Falcon" Rayyan, who was credited with 10 kills.

Radar performances and Missile range is something that in modern wars, decides who will win the

    conflict,NOT Dogfight=Maneuverability!

  • Comment removed

  • in that Term Mig-31 will eat F-15 Alive :)

  • @GalaticSpaceHero

Hah interesting theme here, who is better?

    (GalaticSpaceHero & svinche2)

I will send you some tactical and technical information for Both Aircrafts,in the mail

    and there compare them technicaly...

  • @odzadze123 Ive been reading them . alot crap . Need to see the Phantom in person, you ll know why they call it the PHANTOM ! SHHHHHHHHHHHHH Theres a the new secret Phantom comming after uuuuuuuuuuuuuuu PEACE V ! ( ^ )

  • It was the Russians answer to the B 52's . Up in the High atmsophere.

  • @GalaticSpaceHero

Mig-25P Foxbast ,secondary Role is interception of B-52 and B-58 Hustler.

By the way, interceptors aircrafts Like Yak-28P, Tu-158P and Sukhoi Su-15TM Flagon-F are designed as Answer to B-52.

Also Su-15TM Mach 2.5 Interceptor is also intended for,Interception of B-58 Hustler (Mach 2.0 bomber) and for Real Combat duties against Other Fighter aircrafts.

  • Amazing video; cold war stuff has always fascinated me, favourited!

  • the mig 25's engines were massive, thats why it was one of the fastest interceptors of all time, but with all that speed comes a price, they were notorious for burning out their engines at high mach, too much friction was the key. one of my fave old jets <3

  • MiG 25/31 are the best fighter jets of all times. Even if they made their first appearences so long ago, their radar and armament are even now unbeatable. It would be naive to think that their electronics stayed unchanged from 70-ties. Of course they were modernized and now they still could be discribed as "Speed-Beauty-Power". Hope Russians will invent an iterceptor, that will be even more awesome than thouse, by the time 25/31-s will retire.

  • @EagleOwlHayakawa you can use mig 25's own radar to track and destroy it . it was effective back then but old truck today . You want to compare old russian tank , to whats out here today. stretching things a bit.

  • THANK YOU FOR THE VEDIO ,OLD AIRPLANE BUT GREAT MUSIC

  • @HeildemKrieg If a YF-12 / SR-71 had ever managed to intercept a Mig-25, the most it could have done would have been to take a photo of it.

  • very informative..thanks for sharing :-)

  • nice, in 1997, at Tampere Finland, we saw a MiG 25 that my cousin told me was bought for about 5 thousand dollars and pushed across the border...I have a few fotos of it :)

  • Pause it anywhere between 5:53-5:56....beautiful picture that would be! Since I was a kid, I always thought the MiG-25 had a beautiful side view....

  • i was dreamed work on it... but late... (

  • I must admit that I am intrigued by the Mig-25, mainly because of the Gulf War in 1991 and the assumption that an Iraqi Mig-25 downed a U.S. F-18 Hornet. If true, this is the only U.S. fighter shot down since the Vietnam War by another aircraft. I wonder if we will ever know what really happened on the night of Jan. 17, 1991 to the U.S. Navy pilot who was killed either in the crash of the F-18 in question or later on.

  • You know the Mig 25 had the most advanced Avionics and fire conrol computer of that time and it ran with Vacumme tubes. That's amazing. Well done CCCP.

  • at 8:15--if this is the reconnaissance version, then how come it still has the hard points for the missiles?

  • @DandAinTac

in this case,Harpoints are used for Reconaissance / Radar jamming equipment.

  • @odzadze123 Okay. Seems like it would be better to build this equipment into the fuselage though to eliminate the drag penalty. If it would cut too much into the fuel capacity, I would think it would be better to use drop tanks, that could be jettisoned upon approach of interceptors, allowing the MiG to shoot away without the drag and extra weight, while keeping the more valuable equipment and film. Are there flaws in my thinking?

  • @DandAinTac

    No,You are Correct.

Still,Harpoints are Not used constantly in regular service, only when the need arises for

additional space, for Special Equipment, like side scan Radars or Jamming Equipment

    (Aditional Antennas).

In 8:45 you can see Reconnaissance version without Hardpoints.

Also idea for Aditional drop tanks is good, moreover i read in several articles that this options really exist?

but I can assure you that it is 100% true.

  • @odzadze123 I see. Thanks for the info., and for posting this. These Russian birds fascinate me, and I've never seen some of these clips before.

  • I find it really crazy how the soviets created this advanced and powerful weaponaries without having a compareable budget like the americans. The soviet defense industry is the honorfullest, because it is made with hard work and own ressources. Americans did have endless budget and the support of other powerful and advanced countries like german and japan.

  • hey whats the name of the music? nice video by the way!

  • Thanks :)

  • Nice, cheers uploader _b

  • That things got some big ass engines. One alone probably consumes more gas the my Kia does in 5 years (I'm exaggerating).

  • @BRIANROX1 well, that is actually true, it was ment for super-supersonic flight!!!!

  • Svaka cast extra!
