  • She is SO tweaking out here! She really is amazing, drugs or no drugs.

  • she gets so into it that she just saying words!

  • this song would be boring if it hadn't sung by Whitney

  • @PRAPHANUS only whitney could sing this song:

    watch?v=o5DPxTfTpek&feature=related

  • Whitney breathed life into this pretty average song. On that cd (album) this was a song that I really didn't care for, but to hear her sing it live is just wonderful. That intro from 1:44 to 2:14 is sheer genius. She may not have the same vocal power, but she still has that inate musicality that can overcome any vocal limitation. I can't wait for the next cd.

  • i dont understand why people calling out what she did wrong or what they think she did wrong. my whole thing is when you can hit notes the way she did then hey talk all you want but if not just STOP. point blank she's one of the best and will always be one of the best ever.

  • Whitney that note 5:13-5:19 you need to be smacked for real. The heffa is too BAD the run fits the whole arrangement of the melody. Girl knows her notes and octaves. She does not play!

  • @kmaur21 No wonder why folks complain about Whitney's voice now. We Whitney fans were spoiled for many many many years of perfect vocals and her hitting every note in on the octave scale accurately and flawless. She spoiled us with flawless vocals for YEARS!!!!!!!!!

  • I still love that Minnie Ripperton high 3:43 only Whitney and Minnie could do them coloratura highs like nothing and in tune with the melody!

  • this is so NOT the best version of this song.

  • @atolm1 It sure isn't Whitney has sung this song wonderfully thousands of times in her career. This is just a phenomenal version but Whitney always sings her songs live so complex and different. Thats why Whitney at her vocal worst folks can't complain cause the has SUNG the BEST for YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is the best version no question

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE,,,,,,,,SHE IS THAT BITCH,,,,,,,LOVE NIPPY

  • That woman can BLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Who does that 5:15-5:20 That heffa is the baddest singer ever she sings her as... of without unneccessary bullcrap and dramatics just one simple note from her. Crazy from her Minnie highs to baritone lows, nobody can mess with the voice when she is on fire.

  • @kmaur21 That Minnie high 3:43 can't get over it!!!!!!!!!

  • Great! Great! Great!

  • I so LUUUVV Whitney..God Bless you Still Girll

would luve to have your feedback on Moi

    Blessings ;)

  • (-_-) so nice and coollllllllllllll song. i like too much..(-_-)

  • 7 people didnt save thier love.

  • So Beautiful !

  • I totally want to buy this DVD! :D

  • we love you

  • She is great Lady, great singer,G-d bless ypu Whitney

  • Nanh bitch since whitney hit the scene back in the late 70's can sing like this ...fuck man!!!! Love this Lady!!!!!

  • the way she sings "blue" at 3:43? who else but whitney could do that

  • @mal211129 I know that coloratura run was something else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mal211129 She jumped like a octave there, girl is truth!

  • @mal211129 She did a run like that in 1985 Nobody Loves Me with Gary from head to superhead voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mal211129 I love that coloratura Runn 3:43 jumped them octaves Nippy!

  • @kmaur21 Actually Whitney was the first too do a run complex from head to superhead like that. The only one that does it similar is Karen Clark Sheard but later, in Oh Glory and then Mariah borrowed that run, but Whitney does here, first, 3:43 and she actually did it way in the 80's. Whitney influence is unparralled in the music industry!!!!!!!!

  • This girls VOICE! Sang that song!

  • SHE IS SO TRUE.....

  • BEST LIVE PERFORMANCE OF THIS SONG EVER, HANDS DOWN!!!! WHITNEY IS F#CKING AWESOME!!!

  • I think that every concert of her is a very good memory to every every one

  • I truly love Whitney and this is a great performance!

  • 5:14-5:20 is one fierciest coloratura inflection I ever heard opera singers listen to Nippy!

  • she is definitely the best!!!!!

  • and that damn glorified stripper beyonce had the audacity to make a duet with Luther

  • @phinetopsc ...You sound like an Air-Head, Put the pipe down mary!!! lmao

  • Whitney voice should be classified as a super power. She is sangin that ass off!

  • is she high?/ poor thing now they're booing her off the stage all over the world.

  • Few stolen moments.I'm saving all my love for "U".

  • What Does She say at 5:23. No other woman is ever gonna ever love you more ??? Is it correct? Sorry for my english but I would like to have a help from a native english.

  • @rooy002 Yep thats what she sings!

  • @rooy002 "No other woman is ever going to love you more". It's close enough though. We understand what she means

  • "Saving my love...saving my looooove" Ooh that shit is SWEEY!!! lol!

  • her hair and outfit though she looks awful lol

  • @zgjames lol.

  • How could you not love her that voice. I have yet to here someone sing better then this

  • @whitwhit1fan I can't get over her coloratura run 5:14-5:19 lord she is a trip in head voice.

  • @kmaur21 At 2:57 she did a strong C#5 in chest voice. At 4:25-4:29 she did an E5 to A5 with vibrato in head voice. I am not denying her coloratura ability, but you have to look at her live vocal range video because her peak is at C#6. She did another E5 in head voice at 5:19 and at 6:07 an F#5 in head voice then back down to an E5.

  • @ThePianoguy89 Please she hit whistle notes, too and you contradicted yourself. People like you are so fake. You said her highest is A6 now it is C6# please. Whitney highest is E7/F7 spain 199 SAMFLY anyone who denys the actual note is ignorant. Talk to someone else.

  • @kmaur21 Yes I said her highest was a6 but I also mentioned that it was done by accident. Her highest natural note is a C#6. I am not being fake, but she had no control over the G#6-A6, but still managed to hit it. That's a rare note because she do not use whistle register. She is a mezzo-soprano, not a coloratura soprano. I also mentioned that she do have a coloratura ability. I also mentioned that in order for that note to count in the other performance is that it had to be sung, it wasn't.

  • @ThePianoguy89 Whatever her highest note is E7/F7 and the notes don't lie. She has hit A6/G6 more than once, and even a Bb6, and D7 Control NYC 1987 so those notes still don't lie. Her highest in head is E-flat even not a C6# Italy 1987. I been listening to Whitney all of my life, she has mad mad range and effortless too. Now she has 3-3.5 octaves, but in prime she had between 4.5-5 octaves.

  • @kmaur21 I am not lying, I love Whitney, I truly do, but I never heard her do a legitimate whistle note. Maybe she did a D6 with exclamation.

  • @ThePianoguy89 Yes she has done legitimate whistle does notes were all live boo no studio crap. She did a whistle anyway imitating country singers its on youtube. She always did whistles when she felt like it. Her highest is E7/F7 whistle, and E-flat head, lowest G2 period please move on.

  • @kmaur21 Whitney is not an imitator. She's an original, class-act, and stellar vocalist. I never heard her sing country.

  • @ThePianoguy89 Yes she did sing country before playing around in her yard, and she hit a whistle note, and started singing country well the background musicians was playing please. I know almost everything about Whitney's voice, and range. Her range is from G2-E7/F7 and her highest in head is e-flat, and mixed voice is a D6. Her live range is way higher than studio notes since she is a live musician first foremost.

  • @kmaur21 I still never heard her do a head voice note in the 7th octave. Please look at her head voice compilation by bconsitt. Yes, it is accurate!

  • @ThePianoguy89 whats the big deal about what her head voice is and what she is capable of lol...just enjoy the voice and relax not that serious...we dont know what she was capable of doing with her voice back then...even in the 80's ..she mightve had been able to do whistles and more if she hadnt toured as much..just imagine?

  • @phinetopsc That's not me, that's kmaur21 saying false things about her, saying that she has a 4-5 octave range and saying that she does whistle notes. He's a delusional stan and I was telling him that her is a gift to many people that she doen't have to use whistle register because she's THE VOICE.

  • @ThePianoguy89 lol well Im not taking sides..and hope u dont start debating with me..but that's been the biggest debate with a lot of people about her voice..but actually she does just have 5 octaves but doesnt me she sings in every single one...Mariah has 6 i think 7 but then again its rare she uses her lower registers...as far the whistle notes..ive heard Whitney hit them live ..not saying shes a master at it..but her voice is magical.

  • @ThePianoguy89 there was even a documentary i think..cant think of the name of it..and some historians as well as crtics have cited her for having 5 octaves

  • @phinetopsc There are 3 videos on Youtube of her live vocal range. She has a 3.1 octave range not 5, Mariah has 5 octaves, not 6 or 7. Whitney's lowest note is C3 and her highest is a C#6. That's still impressive, especially since she uses full voice. The whistles notes that she hit live are just squeals from being sick, they don't count. Trust me kmaur21 is a crazy one LOL!

  • @ThePianoguy89 lol 3 vids are not proof lol of her unhidden talent or full voice...I just go by what I read...even if she does have 5 why is that hard to believe? its like saying she cant have good long hair..or something? but Ive read that in so many articles and theyve said that on TV and even when they do tributes to her that she has 5 ..soo? and Ive heard them say Mariah has 6

  • @phinetopsc No, the pitches show proof itself. I have never in my life heard her hit sustained whistle notes. Her voice would not be able to manage that becuase she cracked her voice doing the G#6-A6.

  • @ThePianoguy89 lol ur right.."almost" I jsut goggled it. lol kmar is crazy!.and it said she has 4 not 3.1 but she couldve had potential for 5 b4 she came out...lol im sure u wouldvte had to agree with that..the only recordings of here b4 85 was with teddy P. on hold me in your arms" 2 songs she did with material.I am changing" Home" and lifes a party" her voice had that potential

  • @phinetopsc Yes she could have had potential if she had more training. Whitney never had formal lessons, that's why due to the way she handled her voice caused her vocal decline. She never knew how to mix her belts too. Even though she never mixed her belts, her belts were very powerful and resonant because she belted in the mask. If she had more training should have been able to use whistle register and be able to maintain her voice today.

  • @ThePianoguy89 Now i disagree with you on that. Training does not guarantee GREATNESS or even more knowledge in this case on how to use the instrument properly...the way she hit her notes..and what she did ..in terms of being known for one of the few singers to go up and down the octave scale so fast and then right on QUE hit the note with no hesitation is just gifted.shes not talented shes gifted. She knew the technique and what it took to take care of her voice. it was dude to her lack of care

  • Comment removed

  • @ThePianoguy89 nto working out..(cardio) for the respiratory,,not singing as much (to rest the voice) and drugs of course is what did it. She knew all this shes not crazy..she jsut loved singing and wanted to be loved and accepted..she said this herself

  • @phinetopsc Correction, "I never said that training equal greatness."

  • @ThePianoguy89 That;s what i just said. over singing is what Whitney is known for.."everyone knows that" i said that she toured to much..and didnt work out...and drugs of course..and ur right miscarriages..pregnancies play a big part..but the drugs is what did it in..cuz it was a gradual process overtime of her using it. Once again all of this was something she had knowledge of and control of.

  • @phinetopsc I was not talking about oversinging, she can oversing if she wants to because I love it when she does. Many vocal pedagogues said that if she had more training she would be able to use her voice effectively today, but now she has to push her notes and they don't come out as effortless as it did before. I know that drugs really caused the damge, but it's not the only thing.

  • @ThePianoguy89 but this doesnt matter..nothing to debate about..cuz i dont want to revisit how she got to where she is (in terms of her voice conditon) cuz even today some can still be saved..even if not..doesnt matter cuz shes done it all..shes gave the world 30 years of WHITNEY HOUSTON and GOD has been very kind to her..shes sodified in HISTORY for the rest of her life and "I WILL ALWAYS LOVE" HER

  • @phinetopsc I love her too! Please don't think I'm a fake fan because I am not judging her, I was first talking about her lack of training was the reason why she could not sustain whistles like Mariah. Mariah had more training that's why she was able to use whistle notes, but her voice declined too because she was not doing something right. Also Whitney had vocal noddules which she did not fix so that's another reason for her decline.

  • @phinetopsc Boo she has 5 octaves here and easily!

  • @ThePianoguy89 This has been said that she has 5 from people going to her concerts over the past 20 plus years..when she first came out..and listening to her when her voice was raw and she performed in clubs..lol kinda hard to accept that she just had a 3.1 octave range lol...cuz her voice was crazy...!!!!!!

  • @ThePianoguy89 videos are not sinifigant proof of her true octave scale lol...my music teacher used to listen to her a lot...and even attented several of her concerts in the 80's and 90's and said that she has 5

  • @phinetopsc It's proven that she does not have 5, she has 3.1 and in the studio she has 3.3. She hit F#6 in whistles, but they are exclamations, they don't count. Watch this video watch?v=Vk2uOdglJYs.

  • @kmaur21 whats the big fuss over? about how high of notes she can hit lol...just enjoy th e voice for what it is ..no one knows what is or what was Whitneys highest point she couldve reached but her...specially if she hadnt toured as much..and stayed in shaped ..she might have been able to do anything ! then again she has..but jsut enjoy the voice..GOD who cares how high she hits the notes and its classifications

  • @ThePianoguy89 Her live vocal range video is wrong please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ThePianoguy89 Whitney could hit any note she wants go head with that in her prime!

  • 4:28 is incredible

  • in this concert sang in mezzo tessitura!!!! her voice was darker than before!!!! her belted notes were lowered by crack...and she sustained just a brief A5 in head voice at 4:28...her vocal run in high range were made in head voice...but was difficult for her arrived to C6 using her head...she sang in quite high soprano tessitura in the 1994 in argentina and in chile!!!!!!! but then she sang in mezzo tessitura...her voice was always darker...but after 2000 she sing in mezzo-contralto tessitura!

  • @aNdReW16944ever Whitney was singing dramatic soprano here, but she was a dramatic coloratura who easily can go above C6 and even reach the top of the piano in whistle in Bodyguard days. She has sung in whistle several concerts during the 90's. But here her voice was tired and was dramatic soprano. The night before she sung in her normal tessiura that was a better concert but some reason HBO aired this one. Stupid decision and Classic Whitney they aired the worst night.

  • @kmaur21 She hit a c6 easily in Queen of Night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lover for life she hit another C6

  • fucking drug she was the best of the best!!!!!

  • Te amo Withney Houston , toda mi vida he sido tú Fans y lo seguiré siendo ..

  • I think that Whitney did and still does alot of improvisation during her concerts :)

  • I love this version

  • thanks youtube!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I Love,Whitney Te queremos por siempre..... Saludos desde Chile...

  • This is why no one does it like Whitney! Utterly irreplaceable!

  • Whitney "The Remarkably Gifted" Houston!!!

  • Whitney ability to go up and down the octave scale is so impeccable in this era. Listen to how precise her runs and inflections are in head and superhead with this arrangent.... you oh oh oh oh.......... that pattern throughout the whole song. She is a genius vocally on her A game

  • As an Asian, I feel it is so touching. The best version of this song comes from love.

  • saaaaang Whitney!!!

  • i love you you i have been a fan for soo long you are the best babe ... you will come back to mee

  • what a voice it may not be as good but still hard to beat

  • Whitney is the best! We as society will never see pure talent like this in our lifetime again, and plus whitney's voice may have change but bitch still purchase $200 tickets to see her in concert! Can other artist say they can do that? best yet, can you common people do that? Ms. Houston will always be the best in my heart! instead of talking about her, jus pray for her!

  • This voice is so soothing!!!! Whitney I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

  • the badest bitch ever!

  • she damaged with this performance. horrible!

  • @Doubtize South Africa

  • I just love this song... I really like her singing it in Brunei as well which is a much later concert - love you Whitney cant wait to see you in Glasgow in April! xx

  • her belting ability started to deteriorate after 1990. Sure it was slow, but she could not sing things in 1992 that she could sing in 1988. Listen to enough before and after and you will agree.

  • Seriously that BS.... Sometimes when you write, think twice before posting... Try to get up on stage and sing like she did and even does right now.... Can't u guys just shut up, kick back, listen and enjoy the BEAUTIFUL singing? Sometimes commenting should really not be allowed!!! Whitney sang very well on this video, the all concert... JUST SHUT UP!!!

  • why do people say it was after 1996 her voice started to deteriorate, I would say her 19989-2000 performances were still v good

  • Her voice started go wrong even before bodyguard. For 1998 it had improved, but after 2000 it started going very wrong.

  • WONDERFUL..I love you Whitney!!!

  • That intro is the best when she goes from talking to singing then the sax. A- mazing!

  • I know right, I love that inflection she does with her head voice. For you oh who oh who oh.......... Only Whitney!

  • Please Whitney is a live singer/entertainer she will never sing her songs like the recording. The recording is what the producer wanted, Live is all about what Whitney wants to do with the song!

  • @kmaur21 you better say it. you just spoke the truth

  • @Uruyagua She uses her voice like a kid playing with a toy. That's sometimes that good. sometimes not.

  • Yeah I guess you need to develop a taste for it. I'm not there yet.

  • she is only singing what she is feeling at the time. sometimes she don't even know what's going to come out. i know because i sing as well.

  • @rellenoz

Until 1996 (when she was at her prime) it was always good when she did that, after that year, some times were better than other ones indeed :)

But as I said for Uruyagua, there are almost always some live performances where she did the same arrangements than in the studio version.

Ask me if you want (I know more about her prime time years 1984-1996)

This woman is a living Legend! :D

  • @Uruyagua

If you want, I can tell you some Live performances when Whitney sang almost exactly like in the album version, but to be honest, I think her better versions are usually the ones where she creates new arrangements and melodies... anyways, if you wanna listen to this song like in teh recording, search for her Grammy's performance of it. If you wanna listen to I will always love you version live similar to the recording version search the Chile performance 1994. Ask me more if you want.

  • Oh shut up... she's showing her Technique and just excited to perform in South Africa... and YES she's very rare because no one can conpare to her..

  • @imani21.... you're exactly right! Thats part of her genius!! She can create on the spot and not miss a beat. Some are too ignorant to appreciate her technique. Who wants to hear the same studio version when you see someone live!! This is why we're bored to death of these new artists, they have no versatility!

  • @imani21 you are absolutely right, she is the inly female artist able to do something like this. thank you whitney!

  • An amazing talent a beautiful person a truly soulful and powerful VOICE! That would be: Whitney Houston

  • My love My love for you oh oh oh oh who oh, Who would think of an inflection like that but Whitney! 2:06-2:14 Ridiculous!

  • @kmaur21 She sings with such a confidence and joy.

  • For you 5:12-5:19 thats is why Whitney is regarded the best ever!

  • glad to have you back whitney houston!! you will forever be untouchable in the music industry!!

  • she sang her lil heart out in South Africa!

  • she's really inspire me!

  • There's another version of this song she does on stage when she's a little younger and wearing sort of a bikinin top and spandex shorts (LOL), she absolutely kills it though. no matter what she's wearing.

  • Her voice was in top form here! One of the best instruments ever! Go Whit!

  • she sure is one of a kind and so unbelievable!!! This is certainly the best version i've heard....she is just the shit!!!! No one comes even close!!!! I LOVE IT 2...

  • I am an Asian. But I think it's touchiing waht Whinet says in the begning.

  • god bless you, w

  • Maravilhosa

  • she jus mashed up this performance GREATNESS. omg i love it love it love it....... GOOOOOOO WHITNEY

  • She is farken unbelievable.....She is Diva Queen....I love errrrrrrrrr!!!mean arrangement.....love ittttttttt!!!!!

  • 80s soul where have you gone, miss this silk sound.

  • She's one of a kind. I look forward to her return. The wannabes tried to fill her void, but Whitney transcends voice. She has presence.

  • MY ALL TIME FAV PERFORMANCE OF THIS SONG! She KILLED IT!!!!!!!!!

  • Does She From South Africa? Why she called it home?

  • she calls it home because africa is the place where black people decended from like duhhhhh

  • hahaha

  • loool

  • Vocal genius I am telling you guys. Nobody like this women!

  • Sack her stylist - a body like that and her outfits are always scarily looking, as if a blind homeless person went charity shopping for her.....but obviously it is all about her voice. God I love her voice! x Come back to us Whitney- your voice is musical prozack!

  • This makes me cry, so beautiful !

  • i knooooooooo meeee tooo!

  • WHAT DOES WHITNEY SAY AT 1:37?

My dream of South Africa has finally become reality. Do you know I've been doing?

    _________

    What does she say?

    Can anyone tell me please?

    I can't understand clearly....

  • She says, "Let me tell you something" I know this concert verbatim!

  • You might be as big fan as I am:-)

By the way, I'm hungarian that's why I can't hear clearly.

Whitney is an amazing legend.Sings like an angel:-)

One of my other favourite is The Greatest Love of all ( Homecoming Heroes). THAT WAS UNBELIEVABLE PERFORMANCE!

  • She was such a perfectionist with her vocals. Listen to her arrangement. Not a flaw. Baddest female singer and so diverse too.

  • i noticed that too, she does want it perfect all the time. she always gives her best.

  • hello this is Whitney Houston's Adviser and at 1:37 she's talking about what she has been doing while she was'nt there so if you have anymore questions and please don't go tell your friends that i gave you her personal number so if you have any more questions please call>716-450-2119

  • para ti mi gordita bella tkm.

  • I love that inflection she does in head/superhead voice 5:13-5:20, she such a perfectionist. It fits with the vocal arrangement scale.

  • i love whitney to the bottom of my heart

    and she is the voice

i really like this vrsion of this song

becoz she shows her talent in many ways

  • It truly scares me that someone could actually sing this damn good... MY GOD!!!! He literally touched this woman's vocal chords... and its so effortless... WHERE ARE THE WHITNEY'S OF OUR GENERATION?

  • For one you have to have genius musical ear to be like Whitney. Her control and musical ear is sick. She could do anything she wants with her voice!

  • @kmaur21 totally agree!!!!

  • I love Whitney and i love this version.. Its ma favorite..

  • She looks like Vickie Winans did in the early 90s.

  • does any onew lknow what she says from 5:55- 5:59 ???

  • (Smile)...Its strange that you asked. That's my favorite part....Its like talking in tongues...You dont know the words, but it sounds good.....its good Jiborish(smile).
