i wonder how many school shootings there would have been if the media had never publicized any of them on tv or internet. if the coverage of these type of violent acts was limited to only the town newspaper where they occur, the idea of shooting people at school may have never even crossed the minds of many of the future kids who have the potential to commit such acts.
@drschnaggels generally a school shooting is bound to happen back to back especially in that area. for example the usa for a few years had back to back shootings. in canada in 1975 one shooting happened in brampton where a 16 year old shot one student and a teacher dead and injured 13 more before killing himself. and 5 months later only 4 hours away another student, an 18 year old went and killed 2 more people and injured 14 of which 5 suffered gun shot wounds before he too killed himself.
They explain this person Pekka as a bright kid, what made him bright?. I am just asking, i know why he killed innocent peoples. It's simple, he even wore a T-shirt why. He thought humanity was overrated. He couldn't accept the facts of society, he thought that the society was developed in a wrong way from start. "Weak-minded can't be allowed to produce", humans are in fact the only race that aid sick and weak, but that also make us humans, i can understand everything he stated, but it's wrong.
@Flesketbrinner wolfs and other animals aid the sick too, since it is within human nature similar to animal nature to keep their packs strong. humans are no different than animals, we just feel we are since we are a human species. surprisingly it has been shown that school and workplace shooters are actually highly bright, in fact most were honour students prior to going on a random shooting rampage, since most shooters are also the quiet outcast of the school.
Some kids shoot up a school and everyone's making out what cold-blooded murderers they are...yet governments have a whole fucking army behind them and nuclear weapons. How many people have been killed so far in Afghanistan and Iraq? Institutions who point the finger at people like Eric are fucking hypocrites. If citizens can't resort to violence, then the state shouldn't be allowed to either!!

You are scared of people like Pekka Eric Auvinen. The ancients would be disgusted if they looked upon this society. Such stupidity, disrespect, and meaningless. AND YOU ARE ALL SO BLIND TO THE FACT THAT YOU ARE ALL SLAVES!!! END DEMOCRACY!!!
Pekka Eric Auvinen done what had to be done to get a message across. It's placed a warning on everyone. Basically, for all you people who think this is "Irrational" behaviour, you have fallen into what this society wants you think. If you have any knowledge in social and personal psychology, you will know the reason why you think it's bad every time you see someone kill someone else. You will see why movies with murder in it are called, "Horror".
Good vid, you made the point. everybody can do something. Everybody can help. Unfortunately nobody could help Eric anymore. It was much too late. He came to youtube for two reasons. The first is to become popular, to get his message through and the second one is that he wanted help. But you are helpless when on the other side of the world maybe somebody goes crazy and cant take it anymore. Nobody helped him, nobody came.
You are wonderful, and I bet you are a really good friend. Thank you, not only for being intelligent and having maturity but also for having such a kind heart, and being open to accept people, despite their troubles and falws. You are amazing. :)
People sit here and wonder why people kill. Look at our governments, U.S., Canada, all their doing is invading countries murdering innocents each and everyday, but something like this happends on our soil its bad, very very bad, fucked up world we live in, its sad as hell.
peoples behaviours do not appear out of nowhere. we are moulded by our environment. the only other option is brain damage but apart from that it is the fault of society for labelling people who do these things as crazy and not taking any responsibility for their reactions to such a crushing system.
but is it posibble for such a sociaty to exist? when i look at nature and survival of the fitest theories i dont think so... maby this person was looking for someone with the same ideas or someone to restore his faith in humanity in that case TheAmazingAtheist failed. i dont blame him for the lives that are lost but i do for thinking more about his ego then the wellbeing of this person...
help what? he shot himself. it obviously did help him that's why he did it. it was a cathartic reaction to the pressures put upon him. unless he was brain damaged...
Great points Dr...society is so massive that it is easy for these cases to fall inbetween the cracks. I don't personally understand a solution because I think that there may not be one. Whenever I sit in a classroom, I am always aware of the fact that someone can and potentially will bust through the doors with a gun. It just makes me want to do everything now rather than in the future...the future that someone has the potential to take away.
you really have your finger on the pulse of society my friend. That was an excellent video blog. you have great perspective, much more so than most youtubers. I agree that this is about much more than this incident alone.
Good video. I am not really interested in people who wish to humiliate or abuse others. Some youtube members can be like that. It was the reason that I hadn't subscribed to TAA, as well as all of that 'drama' nonsense.
I watched the videos yesterday, and while I don't agree with the tone, the videos were fairly intelligent. Nobody can know that a person is liable to do things like this, apart from perhaps experts.
That's the fricken problem... it is OUR FAULT.. we need to fricken take the time to listen to everyone.. too many people too quick to judge and condemn people like him.. made him feel lonely, an outsider, made him feel desperate.. broken to the point where he really didn't give a fuck anymore... yes, crazy.. we all are.
I read a bit of conversation between TheAmazingAtheist and NaturalSelector89, and NS could hardly say anything towards TAA without insulting TAA - calling him fat and such. The kid deserved the things that TAA said to him, and it's completely idiotic to say that TAA was some how wrong in how he treated NS. I think it's even a stretch to say that TAA wasn't helping any, because that seems to imply that TAA was making things worse.
retaliation and self vindication don't help anyone. i.e. if someone punches you in the eye, you naturally defend yourself. Not necessary on the internet. Stop, think, then proceed. It's not a street fight. This guy had tons of violent evidence.
Yeah.. taking EVERYBODY along. An admirable plea for inclusiveness, Swen. I'd have thought that the Scandinavian countries (highly educated, socially cohesive) espoused that inclusive, communal, egalitarian ethos more than most other nations do. But I guess random tragedy from the isolated, disaffected, rejected loner (whatever the reasons) can strike anywhere.
