I think the explanation is unclear and confusing, he seems to be all over the place. He should concentrate on giving a clearer presentatio rather than commenting on his headgear.
I recently bought a copy of Benny's book "Language Hacking Guide" and heard good things about you so I thought I would check out your videos. Very impressed. Keep up the good work, sir.
i just started studying russian a few days ago, when i write russian is it proper to write it the typed style instead of that handwritten style? or must i write it handwritten?
привет, just a quick question about one of those letters. You say Щ as 'sha'? I've always learnt this as 'shch', same as the polish sound 'szcz'. Am I just always saying this wrong or is there just two accepted ways to pronounce the letter? Cheers.
"ь" мягкий знак (soft sign) is pronounced as "мяХЬкий" ХЬ is like German "ch" in "ich" it's very soft, not like in "Хорошо". Everything else is ok. You know if you want to improve your pronounciation, you could do a video reading a Russian text just to practice, for example I'm currently learning German, so I watch Euronews in German and read it simultaneously, then I read the same text out loud to practice my pronounciation and it works well.
I agree. One thing I don't do enough for Russian is passive learning. I think I have to listen to more Russian to improve my pronunciation. Thanks for the tips.
@laoshu505000 Agreed 100% cuz I been learning passive russian, well, my whole life, form tv (parents watched it) but actively not at all, so my pronunciation I think is pretty ok, but then I can barely speak basic.
I think it would be a good idea to make the Russian video using both scripts for the beginners too that are just trying to get a grasp of reading the character.
The cursive letters for мягкий знак and твёрдый знак are different. Actually they look nearly the same like the letters you printed in red, just a bit more inclined.
(And if you want to call the letters the right way like the kids in russian school you have to speek л like эль; м like эм; п like пэ; ф like эф; ч like че; ц like цэ...)
No no you are responsible for making the videos here. But I give you something better. Search for the video "Russisch bitte! - Teil 3 (3von3)" here at youtube and watch it at 8min 40 sec. There you can hear (and see) all the letters. With this "cool" russian course I started to learn russian a few years ago :-D

@matbiondi Well, not everyone reads cursive Russian so I would have to say print is better. Even so, you should still learn both.

Man, when I saw you made a cursive Russian video, I thought I was going to learn how to swear :( (Shutka, shutka!)

BTW you seem to have just as many hats as text books. How many hats do you actually have?
This would just be a fun side note, but could you possibly do a video response of the hats that you have? I like their design.

I'll do it since you've requested it =^_^=
laoshu505000 2 years ago
If you have enough hats, you should wear a different hat every time you speak/teach a different language. :P
