  • wow! this is amazing! thanks for posting this! wow i love this show and i havent enjoyed ever watching any other shows online but this is GREAT! and i LOVE the set!!

  • Have u got Oom Pah Pah as well?

  • Kerry is THE Nancy (or Jodie Prenger) :D x

  • Sally Dexter was a brilliant Nancy on stage. So gutsy!!!

  • she so reminds me of jodie i love sally dexter

  • Bet here is the current Eponine on the UK tour of Les Miserables.

  • @davidrhysuk :O really??? her voice is sooo much better now lol i don't like her Bet, but she was a pretty good eppy :)

  • When I think about it Bette being as young as she is even if she isn't Nancy's sister bc although Nancy wouldn't necessarily have a BEST friend being that much younger than her Bette is kinda representing the little girl that looks up to Nancy...she could also be the only girl who lives there so OF COURSE she sticks with Nancy bc who really wants to hang out with a bunch of boys?

  • the young bet dont work as well and i think nancy's a bit posh

  • yeh, i dont think a young bet works as well, she should be younger than nancy but not to much younger...

  • this bet is really youngm but i think she does a good job of it

  • i am playing bet on the 4th of july-

    am well excited :D!

  • my god that is a young bet! i never thought of a much younger sister to nancy! i quite like that take on that character actually ! the next time i choreograph this show i am goin to push for a younger actress to play bet! i lthink it would look different to the same old "normal" bet that always seems to try and compete with the nancy! love love loved nancy in this version!

  • Yeah, I didn't know that Bet would be that young, but I think she actually really suits the part

Is Bet supposed to be nacy's sister?

  • OH perhaps bet isnt nancys sister! i might be wrong there actually sorri! i think i thought she was perhaps because she is much younger here! i couldnt see nancy hangin round a much younger friend though! if u know wot i mean!

  • Yea, that actually makes more sense because of the age difference

  • In the show, Bet is Nancy's younger sister. Nancy is supposed to be early twenties in the show, and Bet should be early/mid teens. In the 1968 Film version of "Oliver!", Bet was portrayed as Nancy's best friend. She is the same age as Nancy in the film. Hope this helps!

  • ahhh, i understand now lol

    thanks xx

  • And this Bet has a way better voice that some of the other adults that they cast in the role!!!

  • Im going to see Oliver in 2 weeks :) Im so excited, Jodie Prenger will make an incredible Nancy and im so excited to see Rowan Atkinson as Fagin! :D

  • and where do you live? is because im going to london this summer and i dont mind to see oliver if is in england! :D

  • I live in England, and the theatre is in Londons westend. Its amazing!

  • Thanks^^

  • This was the first play I ever saw, and I saw the original cast on the west end!

  • nancy is great

  • the bet is played by rosalind james who is now in gone with the wind in the west end - incredible singer

  • Wow! thank you so much for posting this! Sally Dexter is so amazing! i have always been a huge oliver fan and listen to this soundtrack frequently. This whole cast is so colorful and talented and brings a wonderful mood to this musical!b THANK YOU

  • who is bet in this?

  • sally dexter is great

  • Fantastic! I saw this at the Palladium back in 97 and it was amazing, and it's being revived in September in London, I can't wait!

  • who plays Fagin?

    it looks like Jonathon Pryce

  • Aye, that's him.

  • wow thats funny

    thanks so much!

  • I played Bet in this show, and I was 13, but I wasnt that little I looked like I was 15

  • aww bet is sooo cute in this i dint realise she was that young in the show!

  • she's usually not. but it's interesting at any rate. =]

  • shes supposed to be 13!

  • even if she is, usually older actresses play her. i'm a lot older than 13...

  • is that bet??? so young

  • Sally Dexter is Fabulous ! I love her !

  • whoa. sally dexter = amazing.

i just started a production at my local community college, so i'm excited! i play bet! =]

  • Great quality. Sally Dexter was BY FAR the best part of that show. I lived in London and saw it many times. The CD does not do her justice at all. "As Long as He Needs Me" BLEW THE ROOF OFF the Palladium every time.

  • the younger girl really great

  • really enjoyed this vid, was gud =)

  • I love sally!!! shes such a gr8 actress, so gd at her dialects! thanks hun xXx

  • this bet is good, but the one on the american national tour was way better. Amanda Miller.

    Great video though.

Did anyone else see the american tour?

  • wonderful

  • aww i love bet in this :) xx

  • i can't wait to perform Oliver at yeadon town hall leeds in July it'll be great hope lots of people can come

  • I love Sally in this...the London cast album's probably my favorite. I'm currently in the show, we open tomorrow night! :D

  • great version! :-)

  • i didnt like sally dexter on the CD but she's good in this, i was in oliver last week lol

  • that little girl is really good!

  • i love it.

  • Thank you so much! This was my first good show that I saw. Do you know how long Sally Dexter (Nancy) stayed with the production? Thanks. Sally is amazing!

  • Sorry, don't know but if you do a Google search you'll probably find out.

  • @jewisboy29 Hiya. Sally stayed with the show for a bout a year and a half I'd say something like that. The show opened in Dec 1994, and I know Ruthie Henshall played Nancy at some stage in 1996... so you do the math! :)

Info is very limited on this particular revival so we don't know for sure who played what when etc... This production closed in 1998. hope this helps.

  • @jewisboy29 Sally stayed with the show for about a year and a half, and was replaced by Ruthie Henshall, who was then replaced by Claire Moore and finally by Sonia Swaby, who closed the show. Dexter received an Olivier Award nomination for her performance. Hope this helps
