  • THIS IS 'NAM BABYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!

  • F-U-C-K! What's that spell. No more wars!

  • Wish i was here

  • He should do a revised version on Iran

  • Rock’n’roll contra a guerra!

  • There is no good war. There is no bad peace.

And let us refrain from speaking of the atrocities of war, for all war, no matter what the justification for taking the life of another human being may be, is an atrocity.

  • I know it's 40 odd years ago, but I still feel for all our American cousins who suffered because of this war. This song really makes you think.

  • I love the black guy in the beginning shaking his head slowly like, "AWWW HEHH NAWWW"

  • Man do I remember this. Just missed the vacation in Vietnam!

  • those were the times! 500.000 people standing up and singing against war

  • οι τραπεζιτες να παρουν το χρυσαφι τους....

    & να πανε στον αρη...

    στο φεγγαρι....

    στον παπαρι....

  • time has stood still ...

  • that black guy was like what is with all the weird white people!

  • Why the fuck is every single person in here ugly and dirty as fuck?

  • @XxD0INWORKxX cause a three day celebration of peace was more important. Take a history lesson while your mom does your laundry.

  • If I only had a dime for all the times we sang this at parties...driving around in cars...sitting in parks...the 60s were something you can never explain. I'm so happy I was there for such a decade!

  • AHHH YES THE "REAL VERSION" UNCENSORED......THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME F*CK WAS SAID PUBLICLY......IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT, THIS IS ANOTHER MONUMENTAL MOMENT IN PEACEFUL PROTEST HISTORY...

  • here come that eerie feeling it will come upon you wont know the perimeter and when you have violated my personale space. they took your names already here comes my little friend to let you know your time has come.

  • vietnam - such a pointless war

  • @warez1911 what war isn't

  • They're all so stoned it's ridiculous :D

  • You don't have to respect the war, but please, for the love of god, respect the people that served. They've seen some terrible shit.

  • @SuperKingOfSwing1 No, the people that served are the tools of the empire that is destroying liberty here & abroad.

  • @MrDarrenlobo2112 your so damn stupid first off if they were not around what liberty would there be When we are taken over by another country??? second they all need your respect idiot, they would die for you and all u can say is they are destroying your liberty...and are tools??? in my opinion you were brought up wrong... You are one of the reasons this country is falling.... THANK YOU!!!!

  • @DrifterAtl You're (not your, learn your own language) so off base it's incredible. The US dominates the world. No one is going to take us over. We're going the way of the Romans & it's people like you that are taking us there.

“Perhaps it is a universal truth that the loss of liberty at home is to be charged to provision against danger, real or pretended, from abroad.”

—James Madison to Thomas Jefferson May 13, 1798

  • Whoopee we're all goin' to die

  • "there's about 300k of you fuckers out there"?

  • FUCK THE BEST SONG FOR THE VIETNAM

  • Bébé, tu déchire !

  • that wasnt fixin to die... but either way it was awesome

  • and it's 1 2 3 what are we fighting for? don't ask me, I don't give a damn, next stop is Iran...

  • What's that spell?

    What's that spell?

    What's that spell?

    What's that spell?

    What's that spell?

  • Awesome. I don't usually like Country Music, at least not the modern crap, but this is good.

  • where is all the new antiwar songs? these wars are longer in duration and way more costly...stupid hippies thinking you can fight wars without violence. you cant fight violence with nonviolence the people who use violence will always win! look at the global police state for example...

  • THANK GOODNESS THEY MAKE MUSIC FOR PUSSIES AND IDIOTS......

  • Comment removed

  • @DIXIECONFEDERATEDAWG Ya... It's called New Country music.

  • @MaceMn

    amen....

  • It's dumb how these "hippies" wanted to bring our troops home, but when they got home they spit on them, and threw dog shit. Not sure where the logic is in that

  • @TheRoCk8217 Good point, go fig. Like they wanted to be there. They were most all draftees, not like today's professional military.

  • more topical than ever.....☮ & ♥!

  • I used to sing this song as I was flying an Army O-1 in ll corp RVN. Man. Those were the days!!!

  • @julia12920 to bad that generation has given up on what they believed

  • It´s great to see that at some point young people used to give a damn about something nowadays my generation don´t give a damn abou anything!

  • Same Shit, Different Generation!

  • OUAAAAAAAAHHHHH

  • I wish our kids right now would have sit ins, stop traffic, burn flags, and do what ever it took to help end the wars we have now. It is because we don't have the draft, that our young folks are not engaged in anti-war protests like we saw back then. Type- October2011 or Stop the Machine, to see the massive protests coming to DC in Freedom Plaza. I hope this will get things moving to stop these wars and/or cut the funding.

  • @kdills Kids nowadays don't give a dam about ANYTHING! They've already demonstrated that! We've handed over our world to......? They would rather listen to (C)RAP, kill cops and screw their mothers and stab their brothers!

  • @kdills All sort of "righteous rebellion" are lost on today's youth.

  • @kdills Nope. You can think video games, slutty tv shows, shitty music and a few other things for the terrible situation not only the youth but the entire country are in nowadays.

Guess Uncle Sam got tired of all the rebellion.

  • "We must be strong militarily, but beyond a certain point military strength can become a national weakness". How sadly illiterate so many are that have access to a keyboard.

  • It's iraq that should have never even started not afghanistan you fools! in iraq america wanted there oil in afghanistan the us is fighting the taliban and al quaeda, but its true al quaeda has no borders... ANYWAYS THIS SONG IS MAD GOOD!

  • @Country Joe...a Navy Veteran,a Radical....STEALS Woodstock,the cat is DYNAMITE!

  • They all look completely stoned. I guess you became stoned jsust from breathing the air out there...

  • Just want to be there so I can start standing up and screaming this song.

  • @prismetumblr I would bring the millions of people that believe in peace now and we would all sing this REALLY fucking loudly.

  • @Hister333 tisk tisk. this why religion at most points becomes a problem. when u believe in something someone else tells u. u listen to the man who THINKS he knows wat hes talking about. an u critize the wrong people for wrong reasons. NOT saying im athies if it seems i ate religion. im just more spiritual. LEARN about that facts of the life in the 60s it was about changing. getting out of vietnam and living peacefully. thats wat hippirs wanted.

  • @Hister333 wow. lol little kid. u say u like war? if ur a christian. WHICH IM NOT. u would probly believe in the words of jesus. respect ur enemey and do good 2 others as u do good to u. then u will know that the thing u believ in doing is wrong way up the ass. u r critizing the people who believe in wat jesus says. peace n love. an if so. why the hell r u doing this? look up wat a REAL HIPPIE 8#

  • this country comes first!!!

  • @nanapam100 This country's been second for about 40 years, thanks to the gods you suck-up to, and a**holes you've voted for! Enjoy your great-grandchildren being brown!

  • Remember the americans weren't the only ones fighting Australia helped and Why argue about a war that happened many years ago when you can look at the current issue of the religion driven war in the middle east

  • Why are we getting so worked up about nam when it was 50-40 years ago. And ps more men died in the Korean war the nam

  • @USMC35USA Do some research, Marine. Vietnam U.S. KIA & MIA's were 60,000, and Korea was 40,000. Now give me 50, private!

  • exams are over but im still listening to this from my history coursework :)

  • over 40 years later it's still fully applicable to today; just change "Vietnam" to

'Iraq"...i wish more than anything to have been there singing and cheering along with all those beautiful, amazing people. for those 3 days, for the first time ever, a true utopia actually existed (despite having every single odd imaginable stacked against it)...it literally was the single greatest human achievement in history, without a doubt

  • Today everything is the same. The Christians send their sons to kill, even though it's against their commandment. They are pro life and pro war. They profess to follow Jesus who said to give to the poor, but protect the rich in hopes of a kick back. The 60's peace and love movement was crushed because stoned people won't get off the couch to kill in a foreign land, and Nixon could not have that. The tea party didn't mind drug tests .except for law makers.

  • This song takes me back to my Haight-Ashbury days in San Francisco in 1967 and 1968. I loved it!

    Peace & Love

    Rick Ryan

Oh! One day after they turned Haight St. into a one-way because of all the tourist coming into the area, Country Joe got a truck with a flatbed trailer so he could set the band up on it. As they slowly came down Haight St., they were playing this song. I'll never forget that!

    Rick Ryan

  • bombing for peace is like fucking for virginity

  • @studleychudley worked in the WWII tard. Coulda worked everywhere else if we'd just try it. Big middle east parking lot for our jets n Hummers. Wait, they're chicom Hummers now, shit. Or was it jap Hummers? They both got the same slant eyes, ya'll, ain't no use splittin hairs.

  • @4myheroSydBarrett please don't compare WWII and Vietnam. But after reading your wonderfully thought reason why, all I can do is simply feel sorry for you.

  • @studleychudley

Yeah man! Why do people look down on hippies?

  • Peace.

  • We invaded the middle east for oil and poppy control. not WOMD , North Korea has openly admitted WOMD do you see us running over there ? No , that's because the USA govt. is a bunch of bullies... NO BLOOD for OIL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW..such hateful comments just from a single song...someone needs a time-out..

  • Thumbs up if you under 21 and u like this music!

  • @elparcegoterero how about 62 and used to sing this song

  • @elparcegoterero guess only 27 people younger than 21. and who cares?

  • Why are you guys watching this, if you don't like hippies then don't watch a video from Woodstock, and leave all of us who believe in peace ,love, and that Nam was a war that didn't need to be fought alone.

  • @sirevan15 Peace???? well lets see about that... you want to live in peace? what about the rest of the world, or are you so fuking self absorbed you dont know what goes on in other countries? WAR BRINGS PEACE YOU COWARDLY FUCK. Ive fought in multiple countries, and you know something the people that were getting raped and murdered wanted peace. Guess what? We brought them that through fighting the people that ruined their lives. PS you think FAGSTOCK would have happened if Hitler had won? dick

  • @1RiJunior If it wasn't for the U S Army we'd all be speaking Lakota

  • @MHPSpokane

    LMAO!

  • My oldest brother was killed in 'Nam in '67. The ONLY people who blamed our troops were the conservatives and older veterans because they felt they "LOST" the war. I know of soldiers who found it hard to adjust back home due to PTSD or a year in hell. When they sought comfort and understanding from their local veterans org they were shunned. You will NEVER see photos/film of anti-war protesters blaming our troops. They ALWAYS had signs/banners supporting our troops: "BRING OUR GI'S HOME NOW"

  • @ptofview Hippies threw bags of dog shit on the homecoming veterans and spit on them calling them baby killers, no alot of those protesters detested the troops coming home

  • @johncashrocks221 I was in favor of the war until c. 1969, went to both pro & anti-war rallies, and I don't remember anyone being as disrespectful of the troops as you're claiming. I know it's a common belief & maybe it happened a few times (there are always hotheads) but I think it's highly exaggerated. To hear a strong argument that this "spitting on veterans" cliche was an exaggeration of a very small number of incidents, read the book Spitting Image: Myth, Memory and the Legacy of Vietnam.

  • @Whofan1000 well maybe no one in your corner of the USA hated the troops but the troops coming home in California at the airports recieved a "warm" welcome. The good protesters protested the politicians not the mentally scarred boys coming home, you mus have protested the politicians, my late grand father was a vietnam vet

  • I hope this cunts dead................... What about those poor fuckers that needed the help of the Americans and other forces?? You ever think about them you hippy fucks???? Oh yea thats right they just loved getting raped, mutilated and murdered. I HATE HIPPIES.

  • @1RiJunior if you do not like hippies then do not watch a video from Woodstock and leave us who believe in peace and lone alone.

  • GENERATION KILL :)

  • Minute 1:03 the guy is Cat Stevens

  • @jumpinjackflash1968 no its not

  • what's that spell?

  • 5 people wasted a few years of their lives, and I hope they weren't seriously hurt.

  • I've always wondered if anyone that was at Woodstock watch these old clips, if they see themselves in them. It must be a total trip. Brillant.

  • Στο Συνταγμα ειναι?

  • I can not imagine the persons life who disliked this... I just can't...

  • Come on all of you big strong men

Uncle Sam needs your help again

he's got himself in a terrible jam

way down yonder in Viet Nam so

put down your books and pick up a gun we're

gonna have a whole lotta fun

  • Quit Whining about the Current "Corporate Wars" NOBODY is twisting the arms of those serving.....I was Fucken DRAFTED and went to @Vietnam THAT was one of the MAIN Tragedies OF that Conflict!

  • I don't like war but also don't like having our heads cut of with a dull, rusty blade like MUSLIMS DO!

  • Liberals draftt dogding pot smoking cowards are now running this country in the ground as you can see while guys their age were doing their fighting for them.

  • @retroman1019 fuck you u war mongering fuck us hippies will prevail not cool man u like innocent people dying go pot man light up and fuck war you cock sucker

  • @psychout3211 Marijuana is for people not facing the real world. They're the real ones to blame for Vietnam. They sit on their asses, and talk about "how the world should be," instead of "how it is, and what should be done." You gave the conservatives any easy target, and you continue to.

  • Fuck hippies. Fuck vietnam. I say we nuke em now just to get even. Our bois died real hard over there.

  • @unit529 But it's still not right to kill, not even the most evil man on the planet.

  • @unit529 Amen, fucking liberals! We should go nuke motherfucking iraq and all them hadji fuckos!

  • @Theguido177 i fucked ur mother u republican bitch

  • @unit529 fuck you u little bitch

  • "There's about 300,000 of you fuckers out there!"

  • "C'mon there's 300,000 of you fuckers out there!"

  • Congress needs to pass a law that says it is illegal for any soldier to commit suicide until they have killed the person and/or persons responsible for their war-related depression. As John Lennon sings, "Happy Xmas, War is Over".

  • Great song obviously. Remember that Vietnam is to the 60's what Iraq is to the 21st Century. As stupid and corrupt as Bush was, he was smart enough not to invoke a Draft. We're not talking about World War 2 or Afghanistan, hell, I would have volunteered to hunt down bin Laden, but Vietnam was wrong on sooooo many levels. And I knew that from the age of 10. Which I was in 1967.

  • @JohnArcher30DC No draft because it was easier to send the same troops back to war again and again and a gun. Record levels of suicides in the armed forces.

  • fucken draft dodgers.

  • @StabnShagGaming.The Vietnamese never posed a threat to our country, our way of life, or our constitution. Therefore we should NOT have gone to war. Call me a draft dodger, I call you a mindless, cant think for yourself, plain old idiot.

  • James Franco 1:56

  • I remember finally hearing the album version of this song, and how down they sounded doing the FISH cheer, actually spelling FISH.. first letter "gimme an F!" "F!!!!!!" "gimme an I!" "I :-("

  • @RICH12DAY34 o ya by the way WE GOT TO GET BACK TO THE GARDEN OF LOVE WITH PEACE IN OUR MINDS AND DOPE IN OUR HANDS Was the motto i met! i said the woodstock lyrics and showed using that as an example to explain my motto i learned and made up thanks to those lyrics and i practicly though it up from the woodstock song. so i got talent by the way lol

  • Don't ask me, I don't give a damn. Next stop, Afghanistan..

  • @parafleet wanna know something funny? i was playing this song at a rally at school and i changed the words to afghanistan. and people joined in and sang

  • @scarface12347 That is pretty cool. It's really the same old game. What looks good to the government on paper doesn't play out that way in reality. If there had been a draft this time--hoo-baby, what trouble it would have caused. As it is, paper patriots said to the kids, "Go get 'em!" And as the vets continue to suffer in mind and body, they're invisible to the paper patriots--forgotten. Our schools should have taught Metallica to these kid-soldiers: Disposable Heroes, One, etc., etc.....

  • @parafleet lol afghanistan is kind of a needed war, the vietnam war was started to stop the spread of communism.

  • @kidproblem1 If you are interested in the Vietnam War, read George Donelson Moss, "Vietnam: An American Ordeal." It's a text book, so it's expensive. But the used copies are a big bargain.

Much idealism that looks good on paper has nightmarish practical consequences.

  • @parafleet Whoopee, we're all gonna die -__-

  • @parafleet Come on all of you big strong men Uncle Sam needs your help again he's got himself in a terrible jam way down yonder in Afghanistan.

Come on wall street don't be slow why man this war is a go-go there's plenty good money to be made by supplying the army with the tools of its trade let's hope and pray that if they drop the bomb, they drop it on the Taliban.

  • @RedWolf3487 You're a moron, Vietnam was a conflict that we DIDN'T need to be in because we had no reason to go in besides "containment". Afghanistan and the Middle East in general houses militia's that have officially declared war on the U.S.A. after the attacked on September 11, 2001. That was because of our troops in Saudi Arabia but that was also because we were fighting a different war. Right now we should be in Afghanistan. Don't like it? Move out!

  • @MatthiasNomad Way to be a jackass. War is terrible no matter the reason for it. And doesnt it contradict your precious freedom the military is fighting for by telling people thier opinion isnt valid? Ever heard of the Bill of Rights? Cus you might want to go back an read it.

  • @MatthiasNomad "dont like it? Move out!"

That phrase was also used during Vietnam.

    fuck you.

  • @wkuking21199 Dude, go fuck a shredder.

  • He's probably the only one that can make that many people stand up and scream.

  • great performance!

  • I was at this concert I remember my homie I went with we both looked at eachother when he wanted the audience to sing. We were like WTF we paid to hear you sing not for us to sing ourselves. We left and demanded a refund. Bullshit man!

  • @dwightrapper You're 29 and you were at Woodstock? Bullshit, man!

  • @dwightrapper

    Obvious bullshit.

    And; A perfect concert includes a sing-a-long!

  • Mostly it was people just saying they were tired of being told ... If your not like your people before you , theres something wrong.

  • Remember when you could watch a video without having to sit through a commercial?

Remember when music videos were uploaded by users and not VEVO

Remember when all the info was to the right of the video?

  • @MidWestCowboy77 FUCK!!!!!!

  • Unfortunately I was not at Woodstock, but I was in Providence, Rhode Island at the time. So close, yet so far away.

    Rick Ryan

  • I can not understand why people do not believe that we can do things differently and change the world as dreamed those kids at that time I can simply not understand why people lost hope. we must become "people"again and stop being money-making machines, we are humans not machines!

who reads this please think only a moment: we have many more reasons to sing now, we just have to do it. show the world that they did not sing in vain and did not dream in vain! We can make that dream a reality!

  • Joe: give me an F,,U,,C,,K whats that spell?

  • @KeIIinator REMEMBER THIS MOTTO from

    KELLINATOR YO!

Stealing Somebody's Lyrics to a song is now YOUR MOTTO????

How very fucking Lame of you.

You might have the younger kids fooled but not me. I know you don't have an ounce of creativity in your body,

Thumbs down that bitch and get him off the front page.

  • @KeIIinator Take a bath, hippie.

  • @Hister333 And you go celebrate the death of your son, daughter, or dad, for some BS war! Got nukes, frickin' use'em, mid-west boy, who follows every tradition your great-grand-pappy taught ya! Ain't no fixin' stupid!

  • @laaxe Yes, I'm a War-Monger because you're a dirty hippie...Yawn.

  • It seems odd that you would sing an Anti-war song wearing an Army Uniform.

Good thing we had people questioning the war and its motives or we might still be there.

  • @RICH12DAY34 He was drafted, like Jimi Hendrix-- at the time it was a significant way of showing he knew what he was talking about.

  • TAKE ME BACK TO THE LAND OF WOODSTOCK!!!!

  • Alabama 3 of the Sopranos theme song took parts of this and created:

Vietnamistan - Alabama 3, Revolver Soul
