Michael says some very important hard truths here...Modern parents neglect their children more and more and the results are obvious.Young people have become cold,unemotional and disconnected from feeling,abusing towards themselves or others.Why don't people care about that? I read the speech in the book that Rabbi Schmuley wrote about Michael...(The Michael Jackson Tapes) I believe the Rabbi assisted Michael in some sections of the speech...but it was largely MJ's ideas and thoughts..The press were so intent on portraying him in negative terms, that they never picked up on this remarkable event. I also wish there were a video of him ..giving the speech...It was so moving and insightful. His own childhood (or lack of it) prompted so much of MJ's work...

To all who buy Shmuley's claim that he wrote this (of course he only claims this after MJ's death - how predictable): how could he have written this, with full of references to stories from MJ's life when he seemed to know hardly anything about Michael (if you read his book you'll know what I mean)? This speech makes me really question Michael's "death." he obviously cared greatly for kids, especially his own. Why would he hurt them by taking drugs and overdosing on them? His kids loved him and needed him and he knew that. It's just not something he would do. And I know that his doctor is getting all the blame but I'm sure mj had some control or knowledge over the drugs he was taking. This kind of stuff really makes me wonder...

To me it is no where near better than Dr. Martin Luther King's speech. Michael quoted statistics and did'nt cite them, which you are supposed to do when giving an informative speech. I have never heard this before! Thanks for posting. I agree with everything Michael said. I do not have children but I am constantly amazed how un-childlike and cynical some kids are today (in the UK) compared to when I grew up. They are exposed to so many harmful and adult things at a young age but everyone seems so relaxed about it. At least Michael took notice and encouraged others to do the same. Why didn't people focus on this rather than the plastic surgery, finances etc.

Jealous that a black man owned the Beatles catologue, and even more mad cos he wouldnt join the masonary that all entertainers in this country join, to be accepted into their club or else they will tear you down come what may. I can tell from this part of the speech that, even though Michael had plenty of fans, friends, and family members who loved him dearly, he still longed for some more love, which the stupid media never really wanted to give to him (how cruel!) .
