if only people listen to this man's heart~it is not about meditation but what we meditate upon~it is not about "religion" but about the freedom to meet God without religious constraint~it is not about this teaching is better than any other~but that we are all equal in wisdom when we love one another whether we be Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Athiest or Jew~when people see the purity of selfless love, the world will turn in peace~and we will see the best in all beings~and then we can see God.

everyone is saying "mine is the best" ... this is not disippating. if anything, it is increasing. increasing globalization making each person feel as if their __ is the best and should overpower others. success in __ is only viewed in the context of destruction/failure/etc in another's __.

how can a man who tries to promote peace avoid the fact that it is the idea of a belief that causes division between human beings? when the mind is quiet there are no thoughts, religions, beliefs, traditions or nationalities to believe in. this is the natural state of the mind. it is only thought that divides humans. if a mind believes in something, it is dividing itself from the mind that believes in something else. both of these minds are being controlled by thought. we must be aware of this.

gorfjorj2112, nono, you've got it wrong - 1. you're only assuming what these faces think, 2. you're doing the opposite of the advice of Mr Goenka: why concentrating on "some of those faces" rather than on the content itself? stop at the essence (the contents) would be more positive & constructive, no?

She always has a particularly "non-expressive" look on her face, but Goenkaji says she is sitting there meditating and radiating Metta for everyone =D

@inder19852000 yeah i did after high school. seems like i was always searching for something as this is what i was looking for i think. after high school i was suppose to get a tennis scholarship to the states but kinda, im pretty sure sabataged my chances to getting it with not only a bad attitude but also rebelling it seemed towards every one. everything, i know this sounds weird, was moving me towards vipassana. it was something that i was destined to do... it changed me in a profound way :)
